<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
On va décrire ci-après, à titre d'exemple non limitatif, un mode de réalisation du dispositif de verrouillage selon l'invention, en se référant aux dessins annexés sur lesquels : - les Fig. 1,2 et 3 montrent l'ensemble t verrou, bouchon et manchette en coupe longitudinale, respectivement avant l'opération de verrouillage, pendant l'opération et après l'opération; - la Fig. 4 montre le seul verrou en perspective; - la Fig. 5 montre en coupe longitudinale et en deux posi- tions différentes, une variante du dispositif constituée par un double verrou concentrique; - la Fig. 6 montre une réalisation de verrouillage avec loqueteaux de section carrée; - la Fig. 7 montre un verrou pour corps tubulaires carrés .. la Fig. 8 montre une réalisation de verrouillage du raccord de deux tubes ;
En Fig. 9 est dessiné un raccord pbur un manchon à bride et un embout pour flexible;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
Il est bien entendu que l'invention n'est pas limitée à la forme et à la disposition des éléments du dispositif tels qu'ils sont décrits et illustrés sur les dessins, mais de nombreuses modifications constructives pourraient y Être apportées sans se départir de l'esprit de 1 ' invention ;

"Safety press-fit locking"
The present invention relates to a safety locking device which makes it possible to block and lock a stopper housed in a tubular sleeve or to connect together and lock two tubular bodies by means of a simple longitudinal movement of the lock in the same direction as that of the latch. 'introduction of the plug into the sleeve, or of one of the tubular bodies into the other or to fit a pulley on a transmission shaft or on a hub.
Unlocking and unlocking are done by an identical movement but in the opposite direction to that of the introduction of the stopper or one of the tubular bodies *
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
It is known to use plugs which can be fixed directly to the upper part of a cylindrical sleeve or a pipe or to connect two cylindrical bodies, either by means of a normal screw thread, or by means of a series of helical notches included between two generatrices of the cylinder constituting the body of the plug or of the end of the part to be connected,
said notches * 'fit into a series of complementary notches by means of a rotational movement of one turn or part of a turn *
Systems known as single or double bayonet are also known, in which a pawl is placed on the stopper and a groove on the sleeve or vice versa, or on the ends of the two cylindrical bodies to be connected.
But with all the means described above it is necessary to perform either a screwing movement or a double movement of introduction and rotation * In addition, the methods described above do not allow locking in the case where the sleeve and stopper, or where the tubular bodies have a square, rectangular, or more generally, polygonal, regular or irregular section.
In order to make the plugging and locking or connection and locking operations simpler, it is proposed, according to the invention, to use a safety locking device which makes it possible to lock both a plug in a sleeve tubular of any ..
what an anointing, that two tubular bodies to connect, and this by a
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
simple translation movement, the reverse movement allowing unlocking and unblocking or disconnection
A characteristic of the invention lies in the fact that said locking can be very easily controlled remotely by a very simple tool, which allows its use for example in the hot cell associated with a nuclear reactor,
As possible applications of this locking, provision may be made for the closing and locking of containers, the closing of grippers and handling grapples, and the rapid connection and locking of pipelines.
According to the invention, the safety locking device of a fitting is characterized by the fact that a tubular sleeve provided at the end of one of the bodies to be fitted, has at its free end a double inclination constriction, by the that the part to be introduced into this cuff has at its anterior end an outer shoulder in the form of a truncated cone or pyramid of dimensions such that it can pass through the constriction of the cuff, and when these two parts are fitted in position to be locked, by the fact that a lock consisting of elastic tabs distributed radially on a tubular head, to which they are integral,
and carrying at their free end toric or parallel latches, the longitudinal axis of which remains in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the fitting, is housed between the sleeve and the part introduced, and by the
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
fact that these latches come to be lodged, following a longitudinal displacement of the lock, between the anterior part of the constriction of the cuff and the posterior part of the shoulder of the inserted part, where they are held by the tension of the elastic strips and wedged by the force tending to extract the part inserted from the cuff, the unlocking occurring by a longitudinal displacement of the lock in the opposite direction to that of the locking.
An embodiment of the locking device according to the invention will be described below, by way of nonlimiting example, with reference to the appended drawings in which: FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 show the latch, plug and sleeve assembly in longitudinal section, respectively before the locking operation, during the operation and after the operation; - Fig. 4 shows the single lock in perspective; - Fig. 5 shows in longitudinal section and in two different positions, a variant of the device constituted by a double concentric lock; - Fig. 6 shows a locking embodiment with latches of square section; - Fig. 7 shows a lock for square tubular bodies. FIG. 8 shows a locking embodiment of the coupling of two tubes;
In Fig. 9 is drawn a pbur fitting, a flanged sleeve and a hose nozzle;
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
According to the embodiment chosen and shown in FIG, 1, the lock 1 can be seen which surrounds the stopper 2, the assembly having to be placed in the upper part of the tubular sleeve 3 which must be plugged.
This lock 1 consists of a hollow upper cylindrical part or head 17, under which are fixed elastic tongues 13 carrying at their free end latches 12 which, in the example of Figures 1, 2 and 3 are in the form of sectors The said sleeve carries, inside a conical constriction 4 with double inclination, the inclination of the lower part 6 of the constriction being more pronounced than that of the upper part 5. Between these two parts 5 and 6, the 'restriction also comprises an internal cord 7 whose bore allows the passage of the plug 2.
Said stopper, which has a ring 8 at its upper part, consists of a cylindrical part 9 below which there is another cylindrical part 10 of smaller diameter than the previous one; the lower end of the stopper is formed by a truncated cone 11 whose largest diameter allows the passage of the stopper inside the inner bead 7 of the cuff, and whose small diameter, equal to that of the cylinder 10, allows passage through the inner bead 7, of said cylinder 10 of the plug with the cylindrical toroid sectors 12 of the lock (Fig.2).
In the head 17 of the lock 1 (FIG. 4) are formed grooves 14 in which lugs 15 fixed to the head 9 of the stopper can move in order to limit the longitudinal movement of the lock.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
To accommodate the stopper 2 in the sleeve 3 (Fig.l), it is inserted, first freely, in the direction of the arrow, together with the lock 1, until the toroidal sectors 12 touch the 'conical constriction on its upper face 5.
The stopper 2 and lock 1 assembly will remain placed on this restriction. By pushing harder on this assembly, still in the direction of the arrow, the plug 2 continues to be inserted into the sleeve 31 the * toroidal sectors 12 of the lock 1 slide on the constriction 4 and bend the tabs 13, tied the effect of the thrust communicated to them until the toroidal sectors pass through the bore of the inner bead 7 of the cuff 3 (Fig. 2). Once the stopper 2 is in its housing, it stops against a shoulder 16 provided for this purpose on the sleeve.
From this moment the thrust will be exerted only on the lock 1, the toroidal sectors will pass entirely beyond the inner bead 7 and will be housed in the space left between the two conical surfaces 6 and 11 of the sleeve 3 and plug 2 (Fig. 3).
Said stopper is then locked in the sleeve 3 by the interposition of the toroidal sectors of the lock 1.
To extract the cap from the cuff, the head 17 of the lock is pulled upwards, which slides along the head 9 of the cap; the toroidal sectors 12 then slide over the conical surfaces 6 and 11 and thanks to the elasticity of the tongues 13 can pass inside the internal bead 7 (Fig. 2), the head 17 of the lock will slide on the cylindrical part. superior

<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
on the bottom of the groove 14, which secures the plug-lock assembly and allows it to be removed from the sleeve *
In Fig. 5 there is seen a double concentric embodiment of the lock according to the invention.
The advantages of this locking over other known systems reside in the simplicity of the mechanism, given that there is, to ensure this locking, only one manufacturing part easy to add to the traditional cuff parts. -cap, which allows a very low cost price and which, in cases of normal use (absence of radiation), does not require any tool for its operation *
In addition, in the case of use under radiation (that is to say behind a screen or in a "hot cell"), the handling of the locking device requires only a simple tool that only needs to perform movements. straight round trips
In Fig. 6, we see the realization of a locking, with sectors 12 'of square section,
the latch and the sleeve of which may have either circular section or polygonal section; the count is made according to Fig. 3 with corresponding numbers.
Fig. 7 shows the construction of the lock 1 'for square tubular bodies, but with the latches 12 "in the form of cylinders.
In Fig. 8, we see a connection between soft tubes
18 and 19 having any section, both polygonal and circular; while Fig. 9 shows a connection between a flanged sleeve 20 and a nipple for flexiblo 21,
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
It is understood that the invention is not limited to the shape and the arrangement of the elements of the device as they are described and illustrated in the drawings, but numerous constructive modifications could be made to it without departing from the spirit of invention;
for example, the elastic strips 13 need not necessarily be arranged perpendicular to the axis of the toroidal sectors 12 or of the cylinders 12 "or other 12 ', they can be circular or in the extension of the axis of the latches, these lamellae would work both in torsion and in bending.
In addition, the pins as described are not essential and can be practically replaced by abutments, edges, grooves, etc.
It should also be noted that it is possible, without departing from the scope of the present invention, to adjust the head 17 of the lock so that it slides on the outer surface of the sleeve 3, instead of the head. head 9.
In addition, the latches 12 can of course be in any suitable form, including, for example, glue of spheres, cylinders, parallelipipeds, toric sectors, etc.
