   La présente invention concerne un joint d'étarichéité dis- posé entre un cylindre tournant et un châssis support de cylindre dans des véhicules à cylindre destinés au compactage du sol. Dans de tels véhicules, il est souvent prévu, sur la surface frontale du cylindre ou du bandage qui l'entoure, une couronne dentée ayant une denture intérieure, avec laquelle engrène un pignon supporté dans la paroi du châssis de support du cylindre* C'est par l'inter- médiaire de ce pignon et de cette couronne dentée que le cylindre est entraîné. L'invention a pour but de réaliser un joint étanche qui protège contre la boue ou analogue de ces pièces d'entraînement ou pièces analogues.

   Dans ce but, l'invention est caractérisée par un anneau en une matière à faible coefficient de frottement qui est guidé dans une rainure annulaire prévue dans la face frontale du cylindre, ledit anneau étant appliqué par des moyens de pression contre la paroi du châssis de support du cylindre. 



   L'invention s'étend également aux caractéristiques résul- tant de la description ci-après et des dessins joints ainsi qu'à leurs combinaisons possibles. La description se rapporte à des   mo-   des de réalisation donnés à titre d'exemple non limitatif et expli- qué avec référence aux dessins joints dans lesquels - la fig. 1 est une coupe à travers un dispositif conforme à l'invention, - fig. 2 et 3 montrent à une échelle plus grande des détails de construction en différents endroits du pourtour. 



   Le bandage 10 d'un cylindre est supporté au moyen d'un flasque de palier 11 sur un arbre 12. Cet arbre 12 est supporté au moyen d'un palier 13 dans la paroi d'un châssis 14. Sur le flasque de   palier # est     monte   une couronne dentée 15 avec une denture intérieure   16,,,   par laquelle le cylindre est entraînée d'une manière qui n'est pas représentée en détail. En vue de protéger les organes d'entraînement contre l'encrassement, il est prévu un joint d'étan- chéité entre le cylindre tournant et le flasque de palier fixe 14. 



   Dans ce but, il est prévu, sur la face frontale de la couronne dentée 15, une gorge annulaire 17. Dans cette rainure est guidée un anneau 18 en fonte grise, bronze autolubrifiant ou de matière synthétique, déplaçable axialement. Cet anneau 18 est placé sous l'influence de ressorts 19 (Fig.2), qui sont répartis régu-   lièrement   sur son pourtour et qui l'appliquent contre la paroi du châssis de support de cylindre. De cette manière, la fente qui reste libre entre le cylindre ou la couronne dentée 15 et le châssis est fermée à joint étanche, ce qui s'oppose à l'introduction de boue ou analogue.
