<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

"Synthetic shoe lining or fitting"
The use of synthetic material as a hoof lining is known. In practice, the use of synthetic material has not grown so far, because the material and technical provisions for this purpose have not yet been sufficiently studied.
Ainei, for example, rubber hoof boots and preformed synthetic coverings are known, which however first had to be adjusted to the shape of the different sizes of hoofs, in order to be able to give them a good fit on the horse's hoof. It is understandable that these achievements have not been able to spread properly so far for reasons of price, as well as complex measures to be taken.
The present invention therefore relates to

Synthetic shoe lining, which is produced as a profiled strip by the rational route of extrusion, for example using an extruder. Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description below, given by way of non-limiting example and with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 shows a profiled strip according to the invention as a possible example of embodiment, with its cutting surface 1 hatched. The bonding surface 2 receives for adaptation to the shape of the surface of the shoe, small wedge-shaped cutouts 3, located at determined spacings and which are cut by stamping during a particular operation. lière. The extension 4 in the form of a tab or a lip is brought back inwards, in a manner corresponding to the conical shape of the shoe, at a determined angle of about 45, in order to give a good auxiliary support for the gluing against the lateral surface of the shoe 5 (figure 3).
Thanks to the current development of suitable adhesives for this purpose, the absolutely durable bond of the synthetic material to the horny shell of the hoof is ensured. In Figure 2, one has shown in plan the sole of the shoe, after coating the load-bearing edge with the synthetic material. The profiled surface 2 has, thanks to the wedge-shaped cutouts 3, a flexible adaptation without bending on the edge of the shoe 5 (figure 3), which leaves only small wedge-shaped gaps 3 (figure 2). ) which could even, if necessary, be filled with a monomeric adhesive for the synthetic material concerned.
The cut to length of the profiled strip and the thickness of the lining are calculated in such a way that the fork a of the hoof (figure 2) meets approximately the ground when the hoof is loaded and that the heel b can still greatly widen and contract during the. variation of the load, which is sufficiently ensured by the use of the embodiment according to the invention.

The ribbed wear surface on the underside of the strip section will give the horse increased grip on its hoof in the case of smooth road surfaces *.
For horses whose hoof lining is subjected to particularly heavy loads, the synthetic material profile can be provided with a stabilizing frame and the coating can be maintained, in addition to gluing, by mechanical fastening means, for example. by nailing and screwing.
