 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

      toute la surface extérieure de la manchette.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

  "Envelope for flower pots",
The invention relates to an envelope for flowerpots, consisting of a flared pipe of transparent material, the narrowest end of which can be adapted to a flowerpot.

   Envelopes known for the sale and shipment of cut flowers and flower pots consist of a pipe open at both ends, made of a transparent, impervious sheet, which widens from end to end. other-

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

The sheet is made of polypropylene or the like. The pipe is formed from trapezoidal cutouts connected by welding. Several envelopes of the same size are delivered strung one inside the other. For the rapid packaging of cut flowers and flowerpots, a support is used in which the envelopes threaded into each other are arranged in a cone shape.

   For wrapping a flowerpot, we place the flowerpot on a base of the support, we pull up the envelope inside which the flowerpot is covered, and the either close the upper end of the envelope or leave it open.

  It is inconvenient that a flowerpot has unalterable or difficult to erase stains, debris or other defects, which generally must be concealed by a cuff of crepe paper. The use of these sleeves is very expensive.

   Plastics or the like are also used, which are however relatively expensive and which are independent of the packaging. In addition, the flowerpot must be placed in the flowerpot in particular.

   The invention provides a sleeve that can be applied together with the envelope. The invention consists in that in the area of the narrow end of the pipe there is added, for the wrapping of the flowerpot, an equally flared sleeve, corresponding to the height of the flowerpot, to be wrapped. , tending to open in a circle at least at its widest edge.

   The cuff, located inside the envelope, is, when packing the flowerpot, threaded from bottom to top on the flowerpot, simultaneously with the envelope, that is to say in one and the same operation which consists in pulling up on the envelope only.

   The sleeves can be made from a thin sheet to which a circular edge reinforcement is applied tending to open, or which itself has a

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 sufficient rigidity.

   For the use of these cuffs, the delivery shape of the envelopes threaded into one another can be retained, so that, seen from the outside inwards, a cuff follows each envelope. For wrapping the flowerpot by lifting the envelope, the cuff cannot fall from its lower part, or escape from the envelope open at its lower part.

   The cuffs can be decorated, especially at their top edge.

   In an advantageous embodiment, the sleeve closed at its periphery consists of a relatively weak sheet which, by virtue of its inherent rigidity, tends to take a frustoconical shape. Hard polyvinyl chloride, thin and preferably waterproof cardboard are, among others, suitable materials for this purpose.

   The sleeve is easy to manufacture if it is made of a strip of arcuate shape, of sufficient rigidity, the two ends of which are connected to each other, in particular by probing.

     . ' The cuff may, by its decoration or coloring or both, obscure, at least partially, the exterior surface of the flowerpot, so as not to present an ugly appearance of the surface of the flowerpot.

   One embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing, the single figure of which represents a flowerpot packed in an envelope with a sleeve.

   In a pot 1 is a plant 2. The pot 1 is surrounded to the top of its upper edge by a sleeve.
3 made from an arched tape of hard polyvinyl; of waterproofed cardboard or the like, the ends of which have been joined by a weld 4. At the upper end of the sleeve there is shown a decoration 5, which can extend over

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

      the entire outer surface of the cuff.

   So that the pot 1 can be hidden from view by the cuff 2, the latter can be made opaque by an appropriate coloring or by decorations which partially suppress the transparency of the hand.

   The lower end of the cuff 3 coincides approximately with the lower edge of the pot. Due to its own rigidity, the cuff tends to take a frustoconical shape which is chosen so that the pot can be threaded into the cuff without its upper edge, the widest, hitting the latter.

   The cuff 3 and the plant 3 are surrounded by a casing 6, consisting of a pipe open at these two ends formed of a transparent impermeable sheet, and which widens from its lower end towards its upper end. . The envelope is made from a trapezoidal cutout the edges of which 7 are joined by spot welding. The envelope 6 can be closed at its upper part by clips or the like. The material from which it is made is impermeable, resistant to cold and heat, and difficult to tear, such as, for example, polypropylene, polyethylene and the like.

   A number of envelopes µ and cuffs 3 are arranged on a sales stand so that the envelopes and cuffs take a traditional form and that, seen from the outside inwards, a cuff follows. an envelope. From the middle of this stand rises, through the envelopes and the cuffs, a bar supporting a base on which we install the flower pot 1. For the packaging of this one and the plant it contains, we pulls up the envelope 6 located under it on the sales stand, which carries with it the cuff 3 it contains.

   The envelope 6 is raised until the cuff 3 rests firmly against the pot 1, and the top of the envelope 6 can be

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 closed on demand. After closing the envelope 6, the packaging of the pot 1 and of the plant 2 that it contains is finished. We therefore avoided having to have the sleeve 3 contained in the envelope 6 specially placed. the cuff 3 is simply placed in the envelope 6, the latter can be removed without the cuff, which remains around the pot to cover it. exterior surface ugly.
