Abstract

The fruit sack comprises an inner one inserted in an outer one, the mouth of the outer one being formed by a lower edge (10) and an upper flag (11) folding downwards over it. The inner sack mouth is similar to that of the outer one, being situated between the lower edge and the upper flap. The two sack mouths have adhesive zones (14,15,16) and fold lines (13) are provided for both flaps. The inner sack can have cut-away portions (8) at the ends of its upper edge, also a thumb notch at the centre of the bottom flap (6).

Description

 The present invention relates to a double fruit bag for use in fruit cultivation.

Bagging, especially with double bags, fruit on trees is an essential task for fruit growers to protect their fruit from parasitic vermin, eliminating the need to spray apricultural chemicals which could lead to pollution and public dangers , ensure a healthy and hygienic maturation, and help a beautiful attractive coloring to add market value.

 In the past, a common practice to fix each bag on the fruit it contained was to gather its opening by tightening it and to tie the collar with a piece of rush or straw. More recently, it has become usual to use a bag having a fixing in wire, aluminum alloy or similar fixed beforehand to a part of the opening so that the bag, placed on a fruit, can be closed and fixed stem, twig or the like. In European countries, another method is in use where a bag is used instead, with a rubber band 15 to 20 mm in diameter, attached in the vicinity of its upper opening. the rubber band is stretched open, and after the fruit has been placed, the band, which naturally returns to its original diameter, is tied again or, in other words, tightened.

 The bag equipped with a fastener is handled as follows. As illustrated in FIG. 1, the fruit grower first places the bag "a" on a fruit and closes the opening while he folds and he wrinkles the upper part of the bag with the fingers of both hands on the rod "d".

 When the gathered upper part c11 must be tied firmly in place by the fastener "b". The manual dexterity and technical skill required for the job makes it difficult to bag large numbers of fruit effectively. The bag using a rubber band does not require special skill but it is undesirable for a reason of price. In all cases, the upper part of the bag, on a washer or a length of about 15 to 20 mm, from the edge of the opening, is used, as a part with a gathered end which must be tied tight. With a fruit held inside, the bag flares down from the gathered upper end to the middle part resembling a pyramid (Figure 1). The sinking thus substantially reduces the capacity of the bag and, by therefore, a bag large enough to complete the loss of capacity should be used. It requires more material for the bag and is undesirable from the point of view of saving in raw material.

 It is an object of the present invention to eliminate the drawbacks of the above-mentioned fruit bags of the prior art and to provide a relatively inexpensive double fruit bag which does not require special skill but allows bagging. in a simple way with one hand.

The object is produced in accordance with the invention, by a double fruit bag which includes an outer bag and an inner bag, the opening of the outer bag consisting of a lower edge and an upper flap extended so offset beyond the bottom edge to fold down on it, and the opening of the inner bag, of similar structure, being exposed between the bottom edge and the upper flap of the outer bag. The two openings are provided with adhesive zones, and the upper flap of the outer bag and that of the inner bag are both formed with corresponding folds for folding.

The embodiment of the invention will now be described in detail with reference to the drawing.

Referring to Figures 2 to 6, the mark ~ (1) indicates an outer bag and (2), an inner bag placed inside that of the outside. The outer bag (1) has a bottom margin intended to be glued or a bottom flap (3) folded back from one side and glued to the opposite side of the bottom. The bag (1) also has a vertical flap (4) folded back and fixed to the opposite side like the bottom flap. The bottom of the outer bag is partially cut to make a tab (5) for tearing the bag. The leg is used to remove the outer bag (1) and leave the inner bag (2) on its own at a certain stage of fruit growth. A drain opening (1) is provided for the water which could be entered into the bag. The opening of the inner bag (2) has offset lips, that is to say a lower flap (6) and an upper flap (7) extending beyond the lower flap, the two ends of the flaps on the upper corners of the inner bag (2) being cut open in (b) to admit the stem of the fruit or the like.

The lower flap (6) has a rounded thumb notch (9) cut halfway along its upper edge. Like the lower bag (2), the outer bag (1) has an offset opening consisting of a lower edge (10) and an upper flap (11) extended upwards so that the opening of the bag interior (2), which comprises the lower flap (6) and the upper flap (7) with their cutouts (o) is exposed between the lower edge (10) and the upper flap (11). The folds (12) and (13) are produced, respectively, on the corresponding parts of the upper flaps (7) and (ii) of the inner (2) and outer (1) bags to allow the two flaps to be folded towards the bottom exactly along these lines. The lower flap (6) and the upper flap (7) of the inner bag (2) as well as the upper flap (it) of the outer bag (1) are partially coated with a tackifying agent, constituting adhesive zones (14), (15) and (16) respectively. The tackifier which is used can be, for example, a synthetic adhesive. As shown in Figure 5, the underside of the upper flap (11) of the outer bag (1) has a non-sticky area (17) treated in such a way that it prevents the adhesion of the bonding agent. Typically, it is formed by coating the back surface of the outer bag (1) with paraffin wax containing 20 S or more of synthetic resin. The non-sticky area (17) occupies a larger space than that defined between the adhesive zone (14) on the lower flap (6) of the inner bag (2) and the adhesive zone (16) on the upper flap (11) of the outer bag (1). The inner bag (2) consists of waxed paper or equivalent material and the outer bag (1) consists of unwaxed paper.

In order to bind the layers of waxed paper together, it is necessary to apply the adhesive to the ribs that mate the two layers and, in this way, the lower flap (6) and the upper flap (7) of the inner bag (2) have the adhesive zones. On the other hand, two layers of non-waxed paper can be glued together by simply applying the adhesive to one of the two layers.
This means that the adhesive zone (16) on the upper flap (11) of the outer bag (1) must be provided instead of the entry on the lower flap (10) of the same bag.

 With the bag incorporating the invention, a fruit is bagged by the following procedure. First, the fruit farmer picks up one of the bags in a bundle or bundle by putting his thumb in the inner bag (2) through the thumb notch (9). As its opening flaps are slightly spaced from each other by the tips of the fingers, the bag quickly becomes poor and wide enough to receive a fruit on a tree. The fruit having been introduced into the bag, its rod dt is taken in the cutout (8) at one of the two upper corners of the inner bag (2).

Then, the two upper flaps (7) and (11) of the inner and outer bags (2) and (1) are folded together along the folds (12) and (15), respectively, to close the openings of the two bags. . With the thumb and forefinger, the bagger rubs by pressing the folded parts of the upper flaps (7) and (11) and the lower flap and the edge (6), (10) thus folded together. Then, the adhesive zone (14) on the lower flap (6) of the inner bag (2) is coupled and glued to the adhesive zone (15) of the upper flap (7). At the same time, the adhesive area (16) on the upper flap (11) of the outer bag (1) is glued to the lower edge (10). In this way the openings of the outer and inner bags (1) and (2) are closed and sealed simultaneously and yet independently from a wallow moon. The openings thus closed are shown partially cut away in Figure 4. Friction with pressure is facilitated by the non-sticky area coated with wax (17) which provides a soft and slippery surface for the fingers. Another advantage derived from the non-sticky zone is that it avoids the adhesion of the adhesive surfaces on the upper and lower flaps of a bag on the rear side of the outer bag (1) of an adjacent bag. Thus, when a large number of bags in a bundle or a bundle are transported or are stored before use, there is no possibility that the bags stick to each other.

With certain kinds of fruit, for example, with apples, it is usual to tear the outer bag of each envelope about a month before harvest. Although means for facilitating this elimination have been indicated above in connection with the realization, it would be obvious to a person skilled in the art that any other means for obtaining the same result can be incorporated just as well in the double bag of the invention.

As noted above, the conventional method of puckering the opening of a bag and tying its end with a tie requires such finger agility and special skill that improvement in bagging efficiency is not easy. Likewise, existing bags using a similar rubber band have a high cost. In addition, the two types of bags must be gathered at their openings, necessarily forming a gathered upper end and thereby reducing the adequate capacity. To complete the reduction in size, a larger bag must be used while sacrificing the economy of material. In comparison with the bags of the prior art, the fruit bag according to the invention snows no gathering of the upper end for the bind but it is only necessary to fold down the upper flap (11) of the outer bag on the opposite side and rub the superimposed layers with the pressure of the fingertips.

Thus the open end of the double bag can be closed with the openings of the inner and outer bags sealed
separately and simultaneously with ease by a simple
touching with one hand. The procedure is technically simple and, without the need for special skill, the efficiency of bagging is markedly improved compared to ordinary procedures. Since the gathering of the openings is no longer necessary, the bag in accordance with the invention, when used to cover a fruit, will not take the pyramidal form as in the prior art. The parts of the outer and inner bags (1) and (2) below the folds provide ample space to hold the fruit. Consequently, the length of the bag can be shortened compared to the standard of an ordinary bag, the length of the inner bag by more than 10 seconds and that of the outer bag by about 9 *. With a consequent reduction in the requirement of materials, the bag of the invention contributes to the preservation of natural resources.

 1. Double fruit bag comprising an outer bag (1) and an inner bag (2) which is inserted therein characterized in that the opening of said outer bag (1) consists of a lower edge (10) and an upper flap (11) extending offset beyond the lower edge (10) to fold down thereon, and the opening of said inner bag 12), similar in structure to that of said outer bag (1), is exposed between said lower edge (10) and the upper flap (11) of said outer bag (1), said two openings being provided with adhesive zones (14), (15), (16) and said upper flap (11) of said outer bag (1) and that of said inner bag (2) both being provided with corresponding folds (13) for folding.  2. Double fruit bag according to claim 1, charac té risd in that said inner bag (2) has cutouts (8) formed in the two side corners on its upper edge and also has a notch (9) for the thumb formed in the middle of said lower flap (6).  3. Double fruit bag, according to claim 1, c a r a c t é r i ed by the fact that the upper part of the side of the bag of said outer bag (1) is provided with a non-sticky area (17).  4. Double fruit bag according to claim 1, characterized in that said adhesive zones (14), (15), (16) of the openings are provided along the edges of said lower (6) and upper flaps (7) of said inner bag (2) and also along each of said lower edge (10) or upper flap (11) of said outer bag (1).
