c'est-à-dire en direction do l'ouverture d'admission 14.

Pump for introducing solid or consistent materials into a viscous product, under pressure
The invention relates to a pump intended to introduce solid or consistent materials into a viscous product, under pressure, which pump comprises a rotor in which two diametral vanes can slide, arranged so as to extend to one another and whose ends are in contact with the inner wall of a chamber of the pump, provided with an inlet orifice back called solid or consistent materials, said inner wall of the chamber having a first portion, located after the inlet opening above above (in the direction of rotation of the rotor),
which has the shape of a portion of a cylinder spaced a certain distance from the periphery, also cylindrical, of the rotor and concentric with the latter, and a second portion located before the ori'-

intake fice (in the direction (the rotation of the rotor) which has the shape of a portion of cylinder concentric with the rotor and substantially of a lesser radius than the latter, '
The object of the invention is to ensure, by simple means, a safe guiding doo palottes do la pompa. Given this goal, and according to the invention,
a curved cam is shown in the chamber of the pump so econtro with respect to the axis of the rotor - ot each pallet has a lateral stop co-operating with said cam, the distance between the stops and the ends of the corrosive palotteo being equal to the distance, counted radially, of the curved cam of the first portion of the inner wall of the pump chamber, the vanes of each pair being further formed by the end portions of a continuous plate which has a U-shaped lateral notch whose length is equal to the sum of the thickness of a pallet plate and the distance, counted radialomont,
do the first portion of the inner wall of the pump chamber at the periphery of the rotor.
This arrangement makes it possible to obtain, by simple means, efficient guiding of the pump vanes, since, when the rotor rotates, and due to the cooperation of the vane butt with the cam, the end of the pallet is automatically pushed outwards from the rotor by a distance which corresponds to the distance between the periphery of the rotor and the first portion of the inner wall of the pump chamber; in addition, so that the ends of the pallets are not pushed too far outwards by limiting this movement, precisely over the distance in question, by determining the length of the U-shaped notch.
If this movement of the pallet ends was not limited, the pressure difference between the suction side of the pump and the discharge side would risk causing a new movement.

pallet ends. Such a forced guiding of the pallets is desirable, given the nature of the product! pump as this may cause the vanes to stick to the rotor.

Opposite the first portion 13 of the inner wall of the pump chamber is another portion 15 of the inner wall which also has the shape of a cylinder portion concentric with the rotor. This portion of the inner wall of the pump chamber has approximately the same radius of curvature as the periphery of the rotor 7, with the latter aorta pressing very closely against the second portion of the inner wall. The portion 15, in the embodiment shown, is constituted by a cylinder seed 16 whose thickness is equal to the width, counted radially, of the intermediate space 12 and which are fixed to the pump housing 1 by via 17.
Thanks to the use of a dryer 16 of this thickness, the inner wall of the pump casing 1 has, at the location in question, the same radius of curvature as on the. wall portion 13, which greatly simplifies the internal shape of the casing 1, If one does not want to take advantage of this facility, this segment 16 can be integral with the pump casing 1.
The pump embodiment according to the invention, and shown here, is intended to introduce additional ingredients, for example, nougat, nuts or fruit, into ice cream from a machine. continuous freezing, not shown, For this purpose, the pump has two nozzles 18 and 19; the nozzle 18 is connected to the continuous freezing machine while the nozzle 19 is the outlet through which the ice cream leaves the pump after addition of the complementary ingredients introduced through the inlet opening 14.
Since the ice cream introduced through the nozzle 18 is under pressure, the pump comes out in time to maintain this pressure,
The product circulating in the pump may tend to stick to the rotor 7 and to the vanes 9 and 10, so that the latter stick to the annular segments 8. In order to
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
to obtain a forced guiding of the pallets before they enter the intermediate space 12, a curved cam 20 having the shape of a rotating disc is mounted on the inner face of the cover 2; do more, each pallet 9, 10 comprises a lateral stop 21 whose distance at the end of the pallet is equal to the smallest distance separating the inner portion of the wall 13 from the periphery of the cam 20.
When the rotor 7 turns in the direction of the arrow 11, each pallet, due to the cooperation of the stop 21 of the cam 20, is pushed from the periphery with the periply by a distance from the rotor 7 which corresponds to the width, counted according to the radius, of the intermediate space 12, insofar as a similar displacement has not already occurred to us by the action of the excess pressure on the discharge side of the pump, this excess pressure tending to this to push the palettes upwards,
that is to say in the direction of the inlet opening 14. In order to prevent the pressure difference between the suction part and the discharge part of the pump pushing back the vanes over a greater distance than glue which corresponds to the width of the intermediate space @ 2, the pallet plates each have, on their side faces turned towards each other, a side notch 22 (fig. 1) or 23 (fig. 2) .
The length of this lateral notch is equal to the ring of the thickness of a pallet plate and the width of the intermediate space 12, so that each notch allows the corresponding pallet plate only to move. necessary for this to fill the space 12.
In order to avoid abrupt movements of the pallets, the inner wall portion 16 is bevelled at the entry 24 and also 25 where the pallets leave the inner wall portion 16.
The ends of the pallets 9 and 10 may have a cross-section in the shape of a circle with the same radius of curvature as the inner wall portion 13, their contact allowing t
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
to ensure the seal on the part in question. In this case, the contact between the back palotteo ends and the inner wall portion 16 takes place by the ribs, hand. Since the periphery of the rotor 7 bears against the inner wall of the segment 16, a good seal is nevertheless obtained.
