<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

@ According to one embodiment of the invention, the support links of the uprights are in the form of cleats welded to the pillars and provided with means * for vertical adjustment of the panels
The upright support brackets are each fitted with a transverse pin which locks the uprights and the * joint 'cover together.
The invention will be better understood on reading the following detailed description and examining the drawings.
Seals, which represent, by way of non-limiting example,
an embodiment *
In these drawings, Figure 1 is a schematic elevational view of part of a continuous facade of a building formed of prefabricated panels according to the invention; Figure 2 is a schematic sectional view taken along line II- II of Figure 1 @ @ Figure 3 is a sectional view on a larger scale, along the line 111-111 of Figure 1 - Figure 4 is a vertical sectional view along the line IV-IV of Figure 3 - Figure 5 is a detail side view of Figure 4,
and - Figure 6 is a partial sectional view along the line VI-VI of Figure 4.
The metal pillars 1 of a building are constituted by profiles with a double section 7, to which prefabricated panels 2 are fixed to form a continuous building facade.
The 2 panels are each limited by two uprights
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
3 which are presented in the profile tome with a U-shaped section having their wings, of different dimensions, directed outwards.
The wide wing 3a of each upright extends in the same plane as the face of the interior panel to the building and is juxtaposed with the pillar. 1, while the narrow wing 3b is in the same plane as the outside face of the panel.
The wings 3a of the uprights have recesses 4, preferably spaced at 50 cm from the ends of the uprights, so as to form seats intended to support the uprights of the panels, resting on projections provided on the landings 1 of the building.
The protrusions are presented to us in the form of cleats forming a box 5 welded to the pillars 1, and through which are drilled two vertical tapped bores in which threaded studs are screwed 6. The upper ends of these studs support a part in the form of a bridge 7 , formed by a section of profile in inverted U section. the panels 2 each rest on the bridge-shaped pieces 7 at four points, at the rate of two points on each upright, these support points being vertically adjustable by means of the via 6 to allow the height of each separate panel to be adjusted in relation to to pillars 1.
Ohaque cleat 5 is provided with a screw or stud 8, which extends transversely and whose threaded rod projects outward. A bracket 9 is fixed on each of these via 8 and is applied against the wings 3a by a nut 10 screwed on the screw 8, to lock the risers 3 of the panels against the pillars 1.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The width of the prefabricated panels forming the cladding of the facade of the building this slightly less than the spacing of the pillars 1, so as to allow a certain tolerance in the adaptation of the panels to the structure of the building. For the same reason, the recesses 4 formed in the uprights are wider and higher than the cleats 5.
The interstices formed at the joints of the panels are closed by a joint cover 11 which is held by nuts 12 screwed onto the threaded studs.
The joint cover 11 has, on its outer edges, grooves 11a of triangular cross section, turned inward and which cooperate with teeth formed on the edge of the flanges 3b of the uprights, so as to assemble them firmly. the joint cover and the uprights.
