EMI2.1

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

approximately centigrade, at this temperature,
it is only possible to condense a part of the solvent vapors suspended in this air.
The object of the invention is to remedy this drawback and to provide an installation in which the cooling of the air charged with the vapors of the solvents is more thorough, which makes it possible to obtain a greater condensation of the aforementioned vapors. and hence to reduce in large proportions the drying time of cleaned clothes,
For this purpose, according to the invention, the aforementioned air is put into and ± contact with a cooling element, supplied by a

lation in which the cooling of the air after it has passed through the aforesaid enclosure is obtained by bringing said air into contact with a refrigerated element, supplied by a refrigeration apparatus, this then passing into a reheater before its introduction into the aforementioned enclosure
Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description of the drawings appended hereto.
Memory and who represent,
by way of nonlimiting examples, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
FIG. 1 is a schematic view of an installation in which the cooling of the air laden with solvent vapors is obtained by passing this air through a water cooler followed by passage over a cooling element.
FIG. 2 is a schematic view of an installation in which the cooling of the air charged with solvent vapors is obtained by passing this air over a cooling element.
In the various figures, the same refracted notations designate similar elements.
In the installation shown in FIG. 1, the clothes are cleaned, using solvents, in an enclosure 1. After cleaning, the clothes are dry by circulation of air in said enclosure 1. The air circulates in circuit closed and is heated, before it is introduced into enclosure 1, by passing through a steam reheater 3.
After passing through the enclosure 1, the air changed from solvent vapors first passes through a water cooler 4 in which its temperature is lowered to about 15 degrees. centigrade, to pass en-suité over a refrigerating element 5, supplied by a refrigeration device not shown, which lowers the air temperature to temperatures below 0 degrees centigrade.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
By increasing the condensation of the solvent vapors suspended in the air by the successive passage of this air in 1 and the cooler 4 / on the element 5, a greater quantity of solvents is recovered at each passage of the air in said cooler and on said element, which has the effect. to reintroduce into the chamber 1, after passing through the heater 3, a drier air and, from there, to reduce, by more than half, the drying times required by installations without cooling element. It is useful to provide, by a pipe 7, in the aforementioned installation, a preheater 6 fed / by the water which has been used in the cooler 4.
The cooler 4 and. the preheater 6 can be supplied either by water circulating in a closed circuit, or by waste water.
In the installation shown in FIG. 2, the air charged with solvent vapors passes directly, after leaving the enclosure 1, over a cooling element 5 in order to be reintroduced after passing through a heater 3, into said enclosure. It is understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described and that many modifications can be made to the latter without departing from the scope of the present patent.
