aux traitements thermiques par voie sèche et à la lumière*;

Coloring process.
The present intention relates to a dyeing process and more particularly to a dyeing process of polyester aromatics textiles using water-insoluble dyes.
An example of a. polyester textile material is polyethylene terephthalate. This material can be in any desired form, for example yarns, yarns, or knitted or woven fabrics.
By water-insoluble azo dyes "is meant, as it will be apparent to those skilled in the art, dyes which are free from water-soluble groups. Water-soluble groups which are typically present in water-soluble asoic dyes.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
EMI2.1
drosolublea are the sulfonic acid and aoylsulfonaaido groups.
These water-soluble groups are not present in the water-insoluble dyes of the invention. These water-soluble groups are, of course, all essentially acidic groups and which form salts if the dye containing them is in an aqueous alkaline medium.
Therefore, it goes without saying that the expression " water insoluble azo dye. is taken here in its conventional sense and means that the dye molecule is free from sulfonic acid groups, scyl - sulfonamido groups or salts of these groups * forming the basis of the invention, in a process of coloring a polyester textile material aromatic, a water-insoluble colorant of the formula is applied to the material:

The aromatic radicals represented by A can belong to

Examples of heterocycles which can be formed by R2 and R3 with the neighboring nitrogen atom are piperidine, pipera- due and morpholine.
The water-insoluble dyes used in the process of the invention can be obtained in the conventional manner by diazotizing amines of the formula A-NH2 and then coupling the product, obtained with coupling components of formula:

The process of the invention can be carried out by immersing the aromatic polyester textile material in a dye bath comprising an aqueous dispersion of a water-insoluble dye, as defined above, the dispersion being stabilized. if desired, with dispersing agents such as concealers.

Alternatively, an aqueous dispersion of the water-insoluble dye can be applied by padding onto the aromatic polyester fabric material and set by baking the material, for example for 1 to 2 minutes at 180 to 220 ° C. Fluff liquor may advantageously contain a thickener or migration inhibitor and other additives, such as urea.
If desired, the process of the invention can be carried out by applying to the surface of the textile material a thickened printing paste containing an aqueous dispersion of the internal dye.

The printing paste can also contain the usual additives such as surfactants and sodium m-nitrobensenesulphonate *
After having carried out the pro, 61é of the invention, the textile material is removed from the dye bath, the vaporizer or the cooker) rinsed and treated with soap or a synthetic detergent *! It is also advantageous to treat the textile material with a weak alkaline solution of sodium hydrosulphite before soaping since this treatment promotes the removal of the poorly attached dye to the surface of the fibers.
The process of the invention provides a means which enables aromatic polyester textile materials to be colored yellow to red with good fastness to washing and dry heat treatments.
It is particularly advantageous to use in the process of the invention the dyes of formula:
