<EMI ID=1.1>
en premier lieu grâce à la longueur libre du tube un plus'grand étirage absolu de celui-ci et donc une importante réduction de l'épaisseur des parois. En uti- , lisant ce procédé, il est possible, par exemple, de laminer des tubes d'un dia- mètre extérieur de 102 mm et d'une épaisseur de paroi de 3,75 mm (après la sortie du premier groupe, l'épaisseur de paroi est de 4 mm), en une opération et en fait au moyen de deux groupes de laminoirs réducteurs de dimensions et/ou d'éti-;
<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>

One manufactures, with the aid of a reduction-stretcher rolling mill, of; small tubes with low wall thickness from tubes of large diameter and 'with walls of great thickness.
It is known to compose the installations of a group comprising an appropriate number of frames for the whole of the total reduction zone or of two groups which are arranged directly one after the other. Arrangements are also known in which the second group is located far enough from the first group so that a free exit out of the first group and a lateral discharge are possible. In such cases, the first group is normally 6-10 frames and is referred to as a dimension reduction rolling mill and used as such because the starting diameter is larger than with known and normal stretch reduction rolling mills. For example, the initial diameter is 108mm and the reduction is 76mm, finished measurement.
Obviously, it is also possible to manufacture all the intermediate dimensions on this group of rolling mill rolls. In order not to obtain with this group of cylinders final dimensions with a terminal allowance, the arrangement is established so that a small increase in wall thickness occurs.
along the entire length of the tube.
It is also known to equip this preliminary group of rolling mill rolls, when it works as a reducing group of dimensions, with two rolls and / or three gauges. When smaller tubes are to be reduced below 76mm, the rolled product passes through the reduction rolling mill immediately after or approximately one length of tube after.
These reduction rolling mills are essentially divided by drawing into two kinds, in the first of which a fixed degree of stretching is produced, while in the other kind the degree of stretching is variable, i.e. - say that the degree of stretch can be changed from the initial diameter.
It has been found, however, that in all known reduction rolling mills, the maximum possible stretching according to the deformation technique is only obtained with small tubes, since a certain number of gauges must always be engaged to especially get a stretch of the wall. The stretch obtained by frame in a total arrangement, however, cannot exceed a determined percentage.
The present invention is based on the principle of inserting, immediately between two groups of reducing rolling mills of dimensions and / or drawing, a drawing operation which is carried out directly by the last gauge or gauges of the first group and the one or more. first calibers of the second group. The tube therefore passes, as before, the two or more rolling mills or reducing groups of dimensions or by individual drawing arranged one after the other and in fact without interruption, but it is however subjected, according to the invention, during from its passage between each pair of rolling mills or groups, to a drawing operation, which is variably adjustable by modification
<EMI ID = 1.1>
This particular stretching operation requires a certain distance between the middle of the last active gauge of the preceding group and the middle of the first active gauge of the following group. The value of the spacing then depends on the diameter of the tube, its wall thickness and the dimensions to be finally obtained. This spacing, which is advantageously at least 500 mm, allows
firstly, thanks to the free length of the tube, a greater absolute stretching thereof and therefore a significant reduction in the thickness of the walls. Using this method, it is possible, for example, to roll tubes with an outside diameter of 102 mm and a wall thickness of 3.75 mm (after the exit of the first group, the wall thickness is 4 mm), in one operation and in fact by means of two groups of reducing rolling mills of dimensions and / or eti;
rage, to an outside diameter of 21.25 mm and a wall thickness of about 2.0 mm. During this total stretching operation of 2 mm, there is a reduction in wall thickness of more than 1 mm just during free stretching between the two groups.
This proposed stretching operation offers the advantage of stretching the wall never previously achieved in a rolling mill, whether it is a total rolling mill or groups of rolling mills succeeding one another directly. This stretching of the wall of more than 1 mm between the groups of frames then offers the possibility, with for example 6 gauges in the first group and 6 gauges in the second group, so in all only 12 gauges in total, to manufacture at from an initial 102 pipe with a wall thickness of 3.75 mm, a pipe having dimensions
<EMI ID = 2.1>
Another advantage of this stretching possible with a relatively thick initial wall and a very thin obtainable final wall for smaller dimensions also lies in a higher weight of the raw materials and therefore a more economical use of the manufacturing plant. tubes. A higher weight of the raw materials results in a greater final length of tubes in a working operation and therefore a lower proportional percentage of unavoidable terminal allowance (waste).
For the execution of this method, it is proposed according to the invention,
in a pipe reduction plant in which at least two groups
reducing rolling mills of dimensions and / or drawing are arranged after
from each other and at least one of which has an adjustable drive, to arrange the two successive groups so that between the middle of the last active caliber of the first group and the middle of the first active caliber of the following group there is a a certain distance, preferably a distance or a spacing of at least 500 mm. Therefore, the installation can either consist of only two rolling mills or groups which are at a suitable distance from one
on the other or, however, also three or more groups, all these successive groups being at an appropriate useful distance and in order to achieve the traction between the rolling mills or individual groups, these are mutually adjustable.
In reducing rolling mills of the known type, it has proved to be disadvantageous that both at the start of each tube and at its end, an end thickness is formed. In order to reduce the length of the terminal thickness at least at the rear end to a minimum value, it is proposed according to another characteristic of the invention to have between the two groups of reducing rolling mills of dimensions or drawing a tension device of a type known per se, such as for example driven or idle rollers, clamping jaws or segment parts. This device must come into action when the end of the tube is no longer held perfectly in the last gauge of the first group and therefore the stretching operation could no longer be carried out completely.
The clamping device must first help to a certain extent the work of maintaining the tube of the last caliber and then after the exit of the end of this tube maintain this alone.
It is advantageous according to yet another characteristic of the invention to have a tightening device acting only gradually. This can be obtained by means of an appropriate control of the clamping device driven mechanically, hydraulically or electrically, which receives its impulses advantageously from one of the last gauges through the end of the tube.
The clamping device can in addition also be disposed movable in the direction of advance of the tube, the drive being done either by means of a particular motor, a pressure installation, etc., or by bypass. from one of the existing engines. The clamping device then follows the tube and advantageously does so with a certain delay, so that the tube is stretched perfectly. The return movement of the clamping device advantageously takes place at high speed.
Instead of the clamping device holding the end of the tube for a long time, it may also only briefly surround the tube. The period required for retention is determined both from the thickness of the
<EMI ID = 3.1>
of the tube. The clamping device can either be arranged anywhere between the two groups, or in the immediate vicinity of the last gauge, because at this location the device can immediately hold the end of the tube when it leaves the last gauge and therefore the stretching operation is not interrupted.
By virtue of the clamping device provided, the tube is stretched perfectly at its rear end to the relatively short clamping zone and consequently one obtains. nominal wall thickness expected even in this area. The loss is therefore much lower for each tube.
We try to carry out the stretching between the two groups sufficiently strongly to obtain in the parts of the tube closest to the place
clamping a lower wall thickness as much as possible than in other places. This lower dimension is compensated for in the last group by the stretching operation occurring in this group, so that only the clamping point has to be eliminated as waste, due to a terminal allowance.
In order also to reduce the length of the front end allowance, it is proposed according to yet another characteristic of the invention to provide auxiliary at the rear end of the last group such a clamping device arranged in an appropriate manner.
Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description below, given by way of non-limiting example and with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic plan view of an installation according to the invention. FIG. 2 is a detailed sectional view of the installation.
The direct current motor 1 (see figure 1) drives the frames via a transmission 2 and an intermediate transmission 3
a to j of the reducing rolling mill of dimensions A. For the drive of the frames
k to z of the reduction rolling mill by drawing B, a motor 4 is used which drives the corresponding frames also via a transmission 5
and an intermediate transmission 6. The reference 7 designates a train of rollers and the reference 8 designates the oven.
The two groups of rolling mills A and B are not immediately after each other, but on the contrary are separated by a certain distance. The distance or spacing designated by the reference L between the middle of the last gauge j of group A, and the middle of the first gauge k of group B reaches 500 mm. The rolling speed in the frame j and that in the frame k are mutually determined so that in the area between these two frames the tube is subjected to stretching in order to reduce the thickness of the tube.
its wall.
To reduce the rear terminal allowance, we have in
<EMI ID = 4.1>
clamp 9 with the two frames i and j preceding it from group A and the two frames k and 1 the following from group B, following a clearer representation.
<EMI ID = 5.1>
9 is, as indicated by the arrows shown, movably disposed in the direction of movement of the tube 10 and made in such a way that in order to obtain a stretching of the tube 10, the movement of the clamping device is delayed relative to that of the tube.

radially, is placed immediately after the last frame j of group A.
<EMI ID = 7.1>
group B, therefore after the frame z, serves to reduce the front terminal allowance. This clamping device is also movable in the direction of advance of the tube and exerts, during movement at an appropriate speed while simultaneously clamping the front end, a drawing traction on the front end of this tube.
