<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Since the introduction of the removal-trolleys, in brickyards and similar industries, cast carriers formed from detached slats, fixed frames', 'boards', etc. have been employed for the transport of the molded material. These cast carriers, along with the castings, are stacked one above the other, in lifting and lowering devices and are then transported, in stacks, by means of the removal trolleys. The height of the collection trolleys is reduced, among other things because of the danger of accidents. It is therefore necessary, in order to have a greater increase in efficiency, that the loaded mold carriers not only be stacked, but also that two or more of these stacks be placed one in front of the other.
The formation of a plurality of such stacks, however, results in technical difficulties of construction with regard to the support arms of the removal trolleys and operational difficulties with regard to the movement of the trolleys of removal. 'removal.
An increase in efficiency by increasing the working speed of the lifting and lowering devices and starting up a proportionately greater number of removal trolleys comes up against the following difficulty: the driver of the removal trolley n is not able to remove the load from the lifting and lowering device until the next casting carrier has already arrived.
The invention makes possible a practically unlimited high efficiency when charging into drying installations, particularly drying chambers, industries, ceramics and, moreover, the danger of accidents is completely eliminated. The invention consists of the following: for the charging into the drying installations which are provided with support rods for receiving rows of molding carriers loaded with moldings, a horizontal conveyor is provided to be fitted in the installation of dryer, the working length of which is appropriate to the working length of the support rods and which is arranged to be able to be connected, removably, to a horizontal carrier and which can be raised and lowered.
While, when using removal trolleys, the mold carriers are loaded into the drying plants in stacks, according to the invention, the mold carriers loaded with moldings are introduced one after the other. 'other, horizontally, in the drying chamber, or other (installation of the same type), and then, deposited in groups, vertically.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the horizontal conveyor is connected to a vertical conveyor to which it removes, respectively brings, @ continuously carriers of moldings,
To this end, to the above-mentioned vertical conveyors are connected roller tracks for the supply and removal of the loaded mold carriers.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the object of the invention.
Are represented :
In figure 1, a vertical section through a drying installation and its anterior space with the new arrangement according to the section line I-I of figure 2.
In figure 2, a plan of figure 1.
In figure 3, a vertical section through the elevator-step-down, on a larger scale.
In figure 4, a schematic vertical section through a trolley for a dryer channel.
On the roller track 1 come the cast carriers 2 loaded with
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
fresh casts 3 from the cutter or the like. By means of the transverse conveyor 4 they are deposited in the elevator-step-down 50 This is lowered from the; height of a layer and, by this fact, places the mold carrier 2 on the joint 6 of the charging apparatus 7. The endless chains 8 of this charging apparatus then slide forward, horizontally, the length of a mold carrier This process is repeated until the loading apparatus 7 is fully loaded with moldings. Then the charging device is tilted so that the mold carriers 2, 3, which hitherto rested on the chains 8, rest on the fixed support rods 10, which are located next to it.
In the same way, the other layers of mold carriers are placed in the drying system. After the bottom layer has been placed in the oven and the drying chamber is filled, the joint 6 is removed and the chamber is closed. The charging device 7 remains on the floor of the drying chamber, in the position (drawn) in dotted lines.
The step-down elevator can then be slid, together with the joint 6, to the next drying chamber, in which the charging process will be carried out in the same way which has just been described.
The emptying of a drying chamber is done in reverse of what has just been described, with the difference that the transverse conveyor deposits the loaded mold carriers, out of the elevator 5, on the track to rollers 9, on which the mold carriers are brought, with the dried moldings, into the oven.
As a general rule, at least two riser-lowerers should be provided. To avoid interruptions in the maximum output, three such elevators can be provided, which will then be connected in such a way that the one who was the last to work as an elevator and emptied a chamber, immediately (after) works as a step-down and fill the chamber again with fresh material.
The invention can also be applied to drier trolleys or other similar vehicles. Their construction is easy and simple and their capacity is large. The horizontal conveyor 7, 8, in this case, will only have the length of the drier trolley. When the cart is full to the bottom, it is pushed out (down) of the horizontal conveyor and an empty cart is mounted. The horizontal conveyor is, in this case, introduced from below and inclined.
