<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

In the most diverse industries and trades, in manufacturing and in trade, containers and large bottles "are used, the weight of which is so great that the handling of containers of this type is no longer necessary. possible and that it is necessary to provide apparatus for the use of containers of this kind.
Such apparatus are already known in many embodiments. These known embodiments are all based on the following principle: suspend the container in such a way that it does not know how to tilt, or, to express it geometrically, so that the center of gravity of the container is located below. of the point of suspension. This means that, when handling this type of container, it is necessary, during the withdrawal, to lift more than half of the weight. In addition, the assembly of these devices is relatively complicated, because the introduction of the heavy container into the device presents difficulties.
These disadvantages of the known embodiments are eliminated by the invention. This consists first of all in that the container is suspended in an unstable position, that is to say in such a way that the center of gravity is above the axis of rotation. Furthermore, the point of suspension is moved laterally with respect to the center line of the container on which the center of gravity is located, so that an overturning moment is produced. The intensity of this overturning moment is determined by the size and weight of the bottle. At the same time, however, a fixed stopper is provided which receives the overturning forces and which maintains the container, by its own weight, firmly supported in its position.
To draw off, the container is brought by hand towards the overturning moment and, after having overcome the very short path to the central axis, the container falls by itself into the draw-off position.
As the container has its center of gravity above the axis of rotation, only a relatively small force is required to bring it into the draw-off position, although in the rest position it is maintained. by its own weight, against the stopper. This is particularly important in many chemical industries in which predominantly female workers are employed who are not physically able to move 50 or 100 liter containers.
We have already made known a tilting support where the center of rotation of the container is outside the median axis and where the shelf carrying the bottle rests against a fixed stopper, but here too, the center of gravity is below the center of rotation, so that if the stopper were removed, the container would oscillate until (assume) the vertical position, i.e., in order to tilt the container, a large deployment of force is necessary, while, according to the invention, the container tilts by its own weight, after a very minimal deployment of force has caused it to pass the neutral position.
Further developing the invention, it is proposed to provide the frame carrying the bottle with an extension up to the neck of the bottle and carrying, at its upper end, a handle and a spring closure surrounding the neck of the bottle. bottle.
The detailed execution of the support and its functions will be explained hereinafter by means of an example of execution shown in the drawing.
FIG. 1 schematically shows a large bottle, for example for drinking outlets.
FIG. 2 geometrically represents the mode of suspension.
In Figures 1 and 2, 1 represents the container. The center of gravity of the full container is designated by S, and by M the axis, drawn vertically in relation to the plane of the drawing, around which the container rotates. It can easily be seen that with such a suspension a torque is produced which depends on the weight of the container and the distance M-S. The moment of overturning can
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
therefore be set arbitrarily. However, a fixed stopper 2 prevents the overturning moment from coming into action. On the contrary, by its own weight, the container is held in a stable position by the stopper. The magnitude of the overturning moment is maintained such that a relatively small force is sufficient to tip the container vertically to the other side.
When it has passed the vertical, the container tilts on its own and it can be emptied without difficulty at will.
Figure 1 shows the construction of the support in soft parts for dispensing drinks. The container I rests in a frame 5, the bottom 7 of which surrounds the foot of the container and secures it against lateral displacement. The upper part of the container is retained by means of an easy-to-release closure. In the exemplary embodiment shown, this consists of an arcuate flange 10, rotating around a hinge 11 and which is attached to the fixed part by means of a hasp 12. A little below the center. of gravity of the container, it is surrounded up to about half (of its circumference) by two arms 8 which are fixed to the frame 5. These arms 8 carry two journals 9.
This part of the frame is therefore firmly connected to the container and is placed, as appropriate, at the place where the filling is to take place. At the point where the draw-off will take place, the frame 5 with the container I is then suspended by its journal 9 in the bearing 4 of a bearing support 3. The container immediately tends to tilt, but a fixed stopper 2, provided for the bearing bracket 3, prevents this. After having housed the container in the bearing 4, it is possible, if necessary, to attach it by means of a safety arranged in the arms of the bearing 4 but not shown here.
By a relatively light pressure exerted against the handle 6 fitted to the frame 5, the container is moved beyond the neutral point and, by holding it by the handle after it has passed the median axis, one can, from this way, empty it without difficulty.
The advantage of the invention over known devices lies in the fact that the receptacle carries, in a fixed manner, only a part of the flow device itself and that it can be transported with it. .
In industrial operations it can, for example, be brought from the filling point by suitable means of transport to the point of withdrawal and, by a single manipulation, be suspended from the filling point. the lower part of the flow support which is located here.
In retail businesses where, for reasons of convenience, a lot is dispensed out of large bottles that firms specializing in the distillation of champagnes and wines provide in sizes of 3 and 5 l. , for example, keep these bottles, with the upper part of the frame, which does not take up space, in a refrigerator and, to use them, hang them, by one manipulation, on the lower part of the flow holder lying on the counter, and they are then immediately ready for use.
CLAIMS.
1.- Flow support for receptacles of all kinds, especially large bottles and flasks, in which the receptacle is housed in a mounting, so as to be able to pivot, and where, in the rest position, it presses against a fixed stopper, characterized in that the center of gravity of the full container and of the frame is a little above and laterally with respect to the axis of rotation, so that there is a moment of rotation, which tends to overturn the container, as soon as it is triggered, after having passed the dead center, that is to say after having swung the bottle beyond the vertical position.
