<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
2, flèches A.B.

The object of the invention consists in the production of a water heater making it possible to obtain a hot or mixed water distribution. It can be used as a percolator for making coffees or other infusions.
It is characterized by the means used taken both as a whole and separately and more particularly by a multi-way valve directing the fluid either towards the boiler or towards the use orifice, as for an ordinary valve. .
In the accompanying drawings, given by way of non-limiting example of one of the embodiments of the object of the invention:
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 1 shows the apparatus seen as a whole and in longitudinal section.
Fig. 2 shows the valve seen in cross section.
The apparatus consists of a valve 1 forming a support on which is mounted, FIG. 1, the sealed receptacle 2; inside the receptacle and on its vertical wall 3 is arranged a heating resistor 4. A weir duct 5 is arranged at the front part and its orifice 6 is placed near the upper facing 7. An optional branch with valve 8 directs the fluid to the pipe 9 and the percolator 10. It is specified that the valve 8 never closes both the pipes 6 and 9, but opens the passage of one or the other.
The lower part of pipe 5 opens into the front part of the valve 1 through the orifice 11.
The valve 1 comprises a frame with opposite horizontal ei valves 12, 13 controlled externally by the handles 14, 15. The valve 12 closes the pipe 16 opening into the lower part 17 of the tank 2.
The valve 13 closes or opens the pipe 18 opened in the front part of the spout of the valve.
The advantages of this device can therefore be seen.
The user, leaving the tap 14 closed, opens the control 15. The cold water enters the pipe 16 and emerges at the bottom of the tank. 2, arrows A.B. Heating occurs on contact with resistance 4 and when the fluid reaches the upper part, it flows through conduit 5 into the spout 1a.
The hot water flow rate is proportional to the opening of the tap 15 and the sections of the conduits 15 and 16 being identical, the volume of water is constant, all following circuit C.
If a percolator is connected to pipe 9 by opening valve 8, the filter is supplied with hot water. No accumulation of steam can occur because valve 8 always opens one duct and closes the other.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
If the user wishes to have only cold water, he opens the tap 14 and, following the circuit E, the fluid flows through the spout 1a, as with an ordinary tap.
Then obtain a mixing valve or open the taps 14 and 15 in a progressive manner, until the desired draft temperature is reached.
In any case, the permanent orifice 6 or 9 placed in the upper part of the boiler acts as a safety valve preventing any accumulation of steam.
This simple and sturdy device can be placed over any sink and works off a regular faucet.
However, the shapes, dimensions and arrangements of the various members may vary within the equivalents, as well as the materials used for their manufacture without changing the general design of the invention which has just been described.
