<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
REVENDICATIONS

The present invention relates to a boat, more specifically intended for sports competitions, as a beach or fairground attraction, as a toy, etc.
According to the invention, such a boat essentially comprises a circular hull comprising a convex bottom, and a propulsion means.
According to a general embodiment, such a boat essentially comprises: a circular hull comprising a domed bottom and a substantially flat deck; at least one suitable seat or location for the driver, provided on a support mounted for rotation with respect to the hull and disposed above the deck; at least a means for rotating the aforesaid support relative to the hull; and a means of propelling the boat.
In a particular embodiment, the support of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
driver's seat or location is mounted to rotate freely on an axis integral with the deck or the hull, this axis possibly having a steering wheel or other suitable means fixed on this axis and constituting the means for rotating the support relative to the hull .
In another embodiment, the means for rotating the support relative to the hull consists of a fixed bar provided on the deck, for example a circular bar, the driver in his seat or location rotating the support in position. acting on this bar.
The propulsion means is mounted at the end of the support and is independent of the hull, control devices for this propulsion means being provided on the support available to the driver.
This means of propulsion can obviously be any.
Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description given below by way of non-limiting example and with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 is a plan view of a type of boat according to the invention.
Figure 2 is an elevational view of the same type of boat.
The boat according to the invention comprises a circular hull
1 with a rounded bottom and a bridge 2 which surmounts it. On the bridge is provided a fixed vertical axis 3 surmounted by a wheel 4 also fixed; in other words, the bridge 2, the axis 3 and the flywheel 4 form a rigid assembly.
Around the vertical axis 3 is mounted for free rotation a support 5 intended to support the seat 6 provided for the driver.
. This support 5 is mounted for rotation simply on the axis 3 or else it can also be supported by small wheels 7 or other suitable means, mounted on arcuate forks 8 at the two ends of the support 5, these wheels 7 being therefore in contact with the bridge 2 and facilitating the rotation of the support 5 on oelui-qi.
As will be seen, the support-8 consists of a
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
rigid frame supporting the seat 6 but it is obvious that it can be designed from any other suitable material.
Without further taking into account the means of provision which will be discussed below, the relative movements of the support 5 and of the shell 1 can already be considered. The purpose of the steering wheel 4 is therefore not to rotate this shell 1 since it is rigidly integral with the latter but it will be understood that, the driver being seated and forming part of his seat 6, he will be able to move the latter and, consequently, the support 5 by making himself turn around the steering wheel .
The means of propulsion can be any. A motor 9 of the outboard type has been shown, the propeller 10 of which may have an orientable axis or a fixed axis. It can, in fact, be with a fixed axis since the changes of direction of the boat can be obtained by the driver acting, as explained above, on the support 5. The propeller can however also be with an orientable axis, this which will therefore provide an additional means of modifying the direction of the boat. It is obvious that the driver can use the two control means simultaneously, namely by the steering wheel and by the engine. The engine controls 11 are grouped, for example, in front of the driver.
It should be noted, moreover, that if the position of the motor is changed by pivoting to the point of bringing it against the support 5, that is to say with the plane of the propeller perpendicular to the end edge 12 of the support 5 instead of being parallel to this edge as shown, the hull 1 will start to turn on itself as well as the support 5, without in any way affecting the stability of the boat, whatever the speed of rotation.
In short, the direction of the boat can be changed by acting on the steering wheel 4, or on the motor 9, or even simply by leaning to one side or the other of the seat 6 or by pressing with your foot on the deck 2 on one side or the other also of this seat, so as to modify the equilibrium position of the boat.
Instead of being seated, the driver can obviously be lying down. Instead of a steering wheel 4, it is also possible to provide a bar
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
circular in the vicinity of the periphery of the bridge 2 and integral with the latter, this bar forming for example a guardrail. The driver lying down can then again modify the direction of the boat by acting on the guardrail instead of acting on the steering wheel 4, to move himself and his support 5, with respect to this guardrail and, by therefore, compared to shell 1.
It will be understood that the changes of direction will not necessarily take place according to an arc of circumference as with normal boats, since by acting on the steering wheel 4 or other similar means, the engine can very quickly be brought to a diametrically opposite position. to the one in which he was without being obliged to use the reverse gear. It is therefore possible, while traveling, to go back without any practical deviation from the route followed.
Instead of an outboard motor 9, a side motor, a pedal propulsion system, a hydro-slip system, etc. can be used.
Such a boat can be designed as a sports vehicle, beach attraction, advertising vehicle, toy, etc.
The hull and / or the deck can be made of transparent or translucent material and contain, for example, advertising lighting systems or not, with various colors for example.
From a sporting point of view, the hull can serve as a baggage compartment during long journeys. The deck and hull assembly can also be made to be easily removable, so that the deck could serve to lay out on the ground, while the upturned hull could serve as a roof to be fixed at a suitable height above the deck. By means of suitable canvas and stanchions, the machine could thus serve as a camping accommodation.
It will be understood that many other uses are possible.
For example, in the case of passenger or other boats, the orientation control could be provided solely by the propeller, the motor being fixed directly to the hull, as in a normal boat.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
It is obvious that the invention is not limited to the embodiment and to the details given but that many variants are possible without departing from the scope of the present patent, in particular as regards the means of control, propulsion, etc., which can be provided as desired.
