<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present invention relates to a pumping unit for liquids or gases, in which the pumping member is controlled by a motor, the armature of which forms, together with the pumping member, a building unit. . which is traversed by the pumped fluid.
In order to obtain as turbulent a passage as possible of the fluid through the group, and consequently an optimum hydraulic efficiency, one permanently installs, according to the invention, between a part of the construction unit which is arranged in hollow cylinder, and the shaft of this same unit, a tubular guide member which, by one of its ends, connects directly to the intake opening of the carcass, and by its other end, goes up to the pumping unit. One of the ends of the shaft can advantageously be supported by a bearing arranged inside the tubular guide member, and connected to the latter by at least one rib.
Other characteristics of the invention result from the description and the drawing, in which there is shown, purely by way of example, an embodiment of the pumping unit, In oes shown: - Figure 1 shows the group in section, - Figure 2 is a section along AA of figu. re 1.
The exemplary embodiment of the pumping unit shown relates to a pump in which one end of the shaft is located outside the inlet or the coaxial outlet of fluid, the axis of the shaft being , for this purpose, disposed obliquely with respect to the inlet-outlet axis.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The pumping unit shown comprises a casing 1, 1a, which houses, in addition to the inlet 2 and the outlet 3 of the fluid, an electric motor with a wound stator 4, and an armature without notches, not wound, but solid, 5 , this armature being connected to the pumping member 6 and forming with it a building unit. The armature 5 is surrounded by the stator 4 and. the sealing sleeve 7 connected thereto. As a motor member, it is possible, in principle, to use any motor, preferably an asynchronous motor, for example such as that described in Swiss Patent No. 193,737.
The group is arranged in such a way that the stator
4 and. the construction unit formed by the armature 5 and by the pumping member 6 with the fins 6!, 'are arranged obliquely with respect to the general and coaxial direction of passage of the pumped fluid DD, given by the inlet and the outlet coaxial, or with respect to the axis of the piping system adjacent to the group. As a result, it is possible to make at least one of the ends of the shaft accessible and visible from the outside.
Depending on the embodiment. in FIG. 1, the end 11 of the shaft 8 is extended so that it passes through the bearing 10 and the carcass wall 1a. The end of the shaft is covered by a protective cap 12, preferably transparent, removably screwed onto the carcass part 1a. The cap 12 could also be lifted and folded down by means of hinges. The operating state, direction of rotation and speed of the pump can therefore be observed from the outside.
In order to be able to start the induce 5 with the pumping member without disassembly, in the event of a blockage after a prolonged stop, the building unit 5,6 can be rotated by the end in projection 11 of the shaft. For this purpose, the latter has a square or po-

The bearing 10 is a sliding bearing, which, in the case of a liquid pump, is lubricated automatically by the pumped liquid, the use of a gland not being necessary because the end of shaft 11 which comes out of the pump is sealed by the closure cap. 12 or by another suitable closure member.
According to the present invention, there is provided, inside the carcass, a tubular guide member 14 for the pumped fluid, which is permanently installed between the armature 5 of the construction unit arranged as a hollow cylinder. , and the shaft 8, this guide member being connected directly by one of its ends 14a to the intake opening 2 of the carcass, and extending, by its other end
14b to the pumping member 6. The guide tube 14 of? tined to the fluid has, at its end 14a, a flange 14c which is fitted in a cylindrical recess 1b of the carcass part 1a, the fixing of the tube 14, 14c being ensured by screws 15.
The guide tube 14, 14a, 14c has a hub
17 supported by two ribs 16, and in which is installed @ one end of the shaft 8, thanks to a sliding and axial pressure bearing 18, 19.
At its free end, the armature 5 has a ring 20 made of bronze or a similar material, to which corresponds a ring 21 arranged on the guide tube 14. Between the two rings 20 and 21 there is a small clearance, which is possibly filled by a film of the pumped liquid. The rings 20 and 21 serve as a support bearing). lubricated by the liquid, and intended for the armature 5, on the fixed guide tube 14.
@ Thanks to the guide tube 14 intended for the pumped fluid and which is connected directly to the inlet opening 2 of the casing 1, pumping of the fluid is obtained with very ''

little turbulence towards the pumping member 6, -and consequently towards the outlet 3, so that the hydraulic efficiency of the pumping group is notably improved compared to the groups in which there is no, smooth guide of the fluid from the inlet to the pumping member.
