Verre 14 boire.

Glass 14 drink.
The invention relates to a drinking glass which may have the shape of a champagne glass) for liqueur, wine, beer, etc., and its object is to provide a glass which mainly makes it possible to increase the pleasure that one tries to drink.
As we know, it is not only the sense of taste which is involved in the pleasure of drinking, but also that of smell which allows the flavor of the drink to be appreciated. This is especially the case for quality spirits, such as eaux-de-vie and fine liqueurs, as well as for superior wines, especially as regards spirits we have already sought to involve in stronger measure the sense of smell by gilding the glass a special shape., in particular by increasing; its di-

mensions and bulging or shaping it into a larger cup.
The intended goal is not fully achieved by the known measures. according to the invention, the edge of the glass or the edge of the opening of the cup lies in a plane which obliquely intersects the axis of the lens or of the cup of the glass. This gives rise to a glass of a completely new shape which also presents a special character from the point of view of taste, and where one of the sides of the glass is larger than the other so as to form to a certain extent a cap. or a screen which increases the participation of the smell in the pleasure of drinking as a result of a better perception of the bouquet or the perfume by the nose.
The faculty of perceiving in a particularly effective way the perfume or the bouquet by the nose is then assured if the axis of the. section of the glass is perpendicular to the seating surface of the latter. ' In this form of execution one of the sides of the rim of the glass is higher than the other so that the perfume or bouquet is already brought to the olfactory nerve when the surface of the liquid in the vase of the glass is still horizontal, Obviously other embodiments can be presented.
thus the axis of the foot, or in the case of glasses without a foot, the vertical median axis which passes through the center of the support surface of the lens, can intersect the axis of the cup of the lens which receives the liquid, while the edge of the opening of the. glass section is in a horizontal or approximately horizontal plane, ......
It is also possible that the axis of the foot of the lens and the axis of the cross section of this 'last' coincide while the supporting surface of the lens is parallel or approximately par- alel to the plane in which is located the opening of the glass cup.

The invention is not limited to glass drinking vessels.
The accompanying drawing shows several examples of execution of the invention in the form of a chalice.
FIG. 1 is an elevational view of a first example of execution.
Figure 2 shows in elevation a glass in the form of a chalice with a vertical foot.
FIG. 3 shows a lens, the axis of the foot of which coincides with the axis of the section and of which the base of the foot is inclined with respect to the latter.
'In all the examples of execution, the edge 1 of the opening of the cup lies in a plane which obliquely intersects the axis of the cup 2 of the glass,
The exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1 comprises a foot 3 perpendicular to the base 4 which forms the bearing surface 5 of the glass. , edge 1 of the opening of the cup
2 is inclined relative to the bearing surface 5.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the bearing surface 5 of the glass and the opening 1 of the glass cup are located ding, dea horizontal planes parallel to each other. However, the axis of the section 2 of the lens intersects the axis of the foot 3 which is perpendicular to the supporting surface 6 of the lens.
FIG. 3 shows an embodiment where. the bearing surface 6 and the opening of the cup are also in horizontal planes and therefore parallel to each other. The axis of the foot 3 coincides with the axis of the cut 2. It is however inclined with respect to the bearing surface. 5.
