<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

@ "Ordered clutches or couplings fitted with control pins. '1
The invention relates to controlled clutches or couplings provided with control pins for driving toothed wheels, in particular for motor vehicles. In known control devices of this type, the control pins are arranged in semi-circular grooves of a guide casing, which reaches the core of the toothed wheel to be engaged. In the engaged position, the ends of the pins
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
de nde penetrate, beyond their location in the guide rails, into holes of the toothed wheel nu.res of the casing /.
The clutch force is therefore transmitted by the toothed wheel to the free, unsupported end of the control pins. The control pin tends to bend and sag and therefore needs to be set very securely.
Further, in known controlled clutches, the control force is transmitted by the control pins to the guide casing with an axial offset. It follows that the control pins can go obliquely in the grooves and that there may be jamming.
According to the present invention, this drawback is avoided thanks to the fact that the guide casing of the control pins enters a groove made in one of the toothed wheels to be coupled, so that the control pins must not transmit any force. axially offset; on the contrary, the coupling force is transmitted radially from the guide casing, via the control pins, to the toothed wheel.
Since there can thus be no twisting of the control pins, an exit of the pins from the wheel and a blockage is. also made impossible.
The appended drawing represents an exemplary embodiment of the invention, and more precisely: @
Figure 1 is a longitudinal half-section of the clutch,
Figure 2 is a partial sectional view along A-B @ of Figure 1.
On a shaft 1 are keyed two bushings 4 and 5 which are held axially on said shaft '1 by two rings - are arranged, in free rotation, two wheels, springs 7 and 8. On these bushes / toothed 2 and 3, between which is similarly keyed to a sleeve; coupling 6 on shaft 1.
The coupling sleeve 6 has, at its periphery, grooves

In the drawing, the control pins 11 are straightened by means of the control sleeve shown brought to the end position in which the toothed wheel 3 is coupled to the shaft 1. The semi-circular holes 10 in the toothed wheels have, on their outer edge, a chamfer 15, which facilitates the penetration of the control pins 11 in the disengaged wheels 2 and 3. Between the two end positions the control pins, with the sleeve 12, have a neutral intermediate position in which the two wheels 2 and turn idle on the bushes 4 e 5.
The force transmission takes place from the small end cylinders of the coupling sleeve 6 radially, through the ends 9 of the control pins, by means of the toothed wheel 3. Since in this way no di- forces
