Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

<Desc / Clms Page number 1>
The present invention relates to continuous sterilizers for milk and other liquids of the type in which bottles or other containers move through the apparatus on a conveyor chain passing through sections or turns gradually bringing the temperature. the bottle and the liquid are crossed out to the sterilization temperature which is of the order of 115 to 120 ° C., these bottles then passing through one or more additional sections to cool down to a certain temperature.
These sections are filled with water at different temperatures with the exception of the sterilization tower itself where the temperature is reached by circulating air or air saturated or charged with water vapor.
The object of the present invention is to achieve the hot air circulation circuit under more rational conditions than hitherto and to considerably reduce the dangers of bottle breakage.
In Figure 1, there is shown at 1 the conveyor chain passing over pulleys or rollers 2 and at 3 a double circulation column sterilized by hot air possibly saturated or charged with water vapor. 1 is located between two columns 4-5 containing water or another liquid.
According to the invention, the hot air outlet is arranged such that this air is brought to the center or approximately to the center of the forced air circulation circuit and, for this purpose, in FIG.
1 there is provided between the rising and falling strands of the conveyor an air inlet duct 6 which opens downwards. So that the air first reaches (The bottles in their middle position.
A pipe 7 connects the pipe 6 to the outlet of the fan 8 and the latter also exerts a suction-action on the air which is returned to it after having given up its calories to the bottles or to the elements of the machine.
The temperature exchanger can be located at A in line 6 or else in any other place such as A '.
This thus achieves a gradual heating of the bottles and eliminates the dangers of breakage that may arise in known sterilizers in which the hot air is brought into contact with the bottles as they enter or leave the sterilization chamber by hot air. , which causes an unfavorable thermal shock.
FIG. 2 relates to a double column apparatus comprising a central column 9 and two-half columns 10.
The hot air also leaves the center of the pulsed air circuit, being brought through line 61, the outlet of which is directed upwards.
This air descends into the chamber 9 and then rises through the two semi-columns 10 to be returned to the suction side of the fan 8.
The heat exchanger can be located in B or B1,
