<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Fancy fabric by the complementary color method"
A new process for manufacturing FANCY FABRICS will be described below.
CLASSIC METHODS
I) The weaving of dyed yarns on combing all the warping combinations, and wefting allow the artificial effects on conventional or combined weaves: linen, serge, casimir, satin and their derivatives.
Otherwise the cost price, there is nothing to reproach this process which will probably never be completely replaced.
2) Weaving of unbleached threads: The finished weaving, the piece
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
is made by reserving threads of different material: acetate, rayon, silk, fibranne, etc ... This process has its value, it is especially cheaper than the previous one.It does not allow the manufacture of fabrics whose design and the coloring are based on 3 * opposition of nuanmces of the elements warp and weft
These are the advantages and disadvantages of each of these two methods, which prompted the applicant to seek another solution. The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing fancy fabrics characterized by the use, for weaving an unbleached yarn and a thread of neutral cplori, and the resulting fabric is then piece-dyed,
which makes it possible to obtain designs of different shades using different dye baths.
According to one embodiment of the invention, a gray colored yarn is used as the neutral colored yarn.
According to another embodiment, the neutral-colored yarn is dyed before weaving with a solid dye so as not to be altered during degreasing of the unbleached yarn and not to bleed out. second dyeing
The invention also relates to a process for manufacturing fancy fabrics according to which an unbleached yarn and a neutral-colored yarn are used, a method characterized in that one or more yarns of different nature and colors are added to the weaving and which do not take the dye, this process making it possible to obtain on the fabric the effects of different coloring
In accordance with the invention, fancy fabrics are obtained by weaving unbleached threads and threads of neutral color, for example gray,
the part thus obtained being immersed in. a dye bath. This process makes it possible to obtain fabrics of varied hues without it being necessary to constitute large stocks of previously dyed yarns.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
This process allows:
1) Warping of a plain chain "E"
Plain screening of an "N" color
2) Varied warping, that is to say one or more "E" threads alternated with one or more "N" colors
Plain screening of "E" or "N" 3) Various warping of "E" and "N"
Varied screening of "E" and "N"
These combinations can take place in a regular or irregular order. Finally, all the possibilities of the dyed woven yarn method, when the opposition remains between two colors, one light, one dark. In addition, it is still possible to use fancy threads to reserve of material other than "E" and "N".
Example:
EMI3.1
<tb> A simple <SEP> <SEP> weave <SEP>: <SEP> CANVAS

"E" is constituted in warp as in weft by an ECRU yarn "N" is constituted by a yarn of the same material but dyed in a neutral gray at 50% "N" has been dyed in a gray of which the percentage in black and white is even, spun and twisted by the usual methods.
The finished weaving, one obtains the desired design in cole ris, neutral "N" on ecru background. The piece is immersed in a bath of your choice: BLUE GREEN, PETROLEUM, BEIGE, RED, etc ... to dye the background, that is to say the ecru yarn "E". The yarn already dyed "N" does not can be reserved, will be impregnated again with this COMPLEMENTING color which will determine it in a BLUE, GREEN, PETROLEUM, RED color etc ... darker than the one printed at the bottom.
PRACTICALLY: So that this method is irreproachable in its application, it is necessary that "N" is dyed by a dye
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
EMI4.1

Dyeing tests in the laboratory make it possible to quickly determine the suitable dye and the percentage of "N" in black and white: 25%; 50%; 75% and more, depending on whether one seeks to establish the fabric in a light or dark range, or a more or less strong transition between the design and the background.
The application is particularly interesting when:
The weave determines the design, that the 'chain is warped' united with "E" and that "N" is in weft.

4) REDUCTION OF DELIVERY TIME. The "N" wire could be made in advance in determined numbers. Chains could even be woven in some classic or fashion designs which would reduce the delivery time to 3/4 weeks.
According to another embodiment of the invention, a yarn of different nature and colors which does not take dyeing is added to the unbleached yarn and to the neutral yarn, thus carrying out a process making it possible to obtain the effects of various color @ ations.
As a neutral-colored yarn, a gray-colored yarn is preferably used.
Note also that it is possible to twist a wire
