<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Among the game devices currently known there are some which imitate sports and in particular football, hockey, etc: .. On the other hand, we know billiards in which the balls strike metal mushrooms in connection with a device. with electrical contact recording the points obtained.
The present invention relates to a game apparatus in which the players, divided into two groups, strive, each in turn, to achieve the opponent's goal.
According to one characteristic, the apparatus comprises, for each of the groups, a touching surface on which a removable goal is movable at the discretion of the players and protected, by a screen, from the gaze of the opponent. , moreover, the goal of each camp is provided with an element giving a perceptible sound or visual signal under the effect of an electric current passing through a connecting conductor between said touch surface and a surface. aiming available to the other camp when a player belonging to this last camp causes a modification in the said conductor by an action exerted at a point of the aiming surface in a place homologous to that corresponding to the position of the goal of his opponent.
In other words, a player of a camp has at his disposal a targeting surface similar to the touching surface of his opponent; the player strives to exert his action in a place homologous to that corresponding to the position of the goal on the opponent's touchpad in which case he causes a modification in a conductor connecting two points with different electrical potentials and passing through the target area and the opponent's touch surface which results in the emission of a sound or light signal.
Another feature is that the touch surfaces and the corresponding aiming surfaces are similar and are each divided into corresponding sections of square or other shape; the homologous sections of the touch and aiming surfaces are connected by insulated electrical conductors each presenting a solution of continuity to each section of the touch surface and joining two points with different potentials such as the positive and negative poles of a battery, to through the contact pieces provided on the sighting surface sections
According to another characteristic, the solution of continuity of the conductors is eliminated by the installation of a removable element constituting a goal and,
carrying an element sensitive to the current so as to emit a light or sound signal when it is subjected to the effect of the modification in the conductor.
The goal element may cover several sections of the touchline; in this case, each section covered by the goal relates through it to its counterpart on the aiming surface.
According to another feature, the contact pieces established on each section of the aiming surface are formed by conductive pads that the player hits with a stylus connected to a current source thus closing a circuit or by switches on which the player acts to cause the opening of a previously closed circuit.
In one embodiment, the element sensitive to. current is a fusible or audible or luminous element. If the signal is bright, it is obtained by a lamp mounted in series with a @@@@ indicator light.

mant to the separation of the camps.
The present invention will be more easily understood from the following description of the appended schematic drawings, which show by way of example the invention applied to the case of the game known as "naval combat".
Figure 1 is a schematic plan view of the playing surface.
FIG. 2 is a schematic view, showing an embodiment in perspective.
The game apparatus comprises in particular an area 2 which can be completely flat as in FIG. 1 or else the two constituent parts of which 2a and 2b are inclined respectively in the manner of a desk as appears in an embodiment shown in FIG. figure 2. These two parts are separated by an opaque screen 3 so that each of them is out of sight of the opponent.
On each part 2a, 2b there is a touch surface 4a, 4b which is a fictitious representation of a certain maritime extent.
These surfaces 4a, 4b are each divided into sections, that is to say into small geometric surfaces which can be equal and regular, such as, for example, squares.
Each of the sections' of the touch surfaces 4a and 4b is connected with its corresponding section provided on the opposing aiming surface 8a or 8b - by an electrical conductor, not shown. These electrical connecting conductors are each provided with a solution of continuity to render the corresponding section of the key surface.
On the touching surfaces 4a, 4b the player of each side has at his discretion, one or more removable and movable elements constituting the goals to be achieved and which in the case described are assumed to be ships.
In Figure 1, these goals shown in black are three in number 5a, 6a, 7a and 5b, 6b, 7b and respectively cover one, two and three sections. The sections of the sighting surfaces 8a, 8b each comprise a conductive pad.
Breaks of continuity are removed at each section of the touching surfaces where a goal is placed; thus by their establishment; goals 5a, 6a, 7a and 5b, 6b, 7b eliminate the solutions of continuity on the corresponding connecting conductors, not shown, so that, on the target surfaces 8a and 8b, the conductive pads not shown, corresponding sections of those occupied by the above mentioned purposes are earthed.
Then, if a player of a camp strikes, for example by means of a conductive stylus 9a or 9b, the conductive pad provided on the section of the aiming surface counterpart to the section of the touch surface occupied by one or the other of said goals, a current passes from a source, not shown and constituted, for example, by a battery, through the stylus, the stud on the sighting surface, the connecting conductor, the goal on the opponent's touch surface, towards the ground. This current causes on said touch surface the emission of a light or sound signal and can, for example, melt a fuse on the goal and thus give a small explosion.
So if a player reaches with the stylus 9b the plot of 8b
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
counterpart of 5a, the fuse of goal 5a will melt giving a small explosion.
The equipment is completed by an indicator lamp 10a, 10b located on the rear end of each stylus and by a lamp 11a, 11b which is simultaneously lit by the opponent when a player has touched a section of his surface. aiming.
Finally, it is possible to place on each sighting surface a sheet of very thin tissue paper; with each cut of the stylus it is torn and furthermore, it will become black, by the effect of the contact spark at the places where the stylus will have touched on a target surface a stud homologous to the position of a goal.
In Figure 2 is shown in perspective, by way of indication only, a game according to the invention in the aspect that it can take in a practical embodiment.
In this figure, elements similar to those of Figure 1 bear the same reference numerals. It can be seen that, in this case, the playing surfaces 2a, 2b are each inclined in the manner of a desk, the tablet 12 of which can be mounted on the feet 13. Between these parts is arranged the separation screen 3 on each. the faces of which it is possible to have the corresponding key surface or a representation 14 in conjunction therewith.
Finally, without departing from the present invention, the goals may include small lamps which light up during set-up and which go out when a player touches the switches provided on the sections of the aiming surface which are homologous. of the position of the goals It is understood that in this embodiment each section of each sighting surface comprises a switch such as a push-button which cuts, when pressed, one of the connecting conductors from the sighting surface to the surface key. If the actuated switch is precisely the one placed on the conductor on which a goal is arranged, the resulting circuit breaking has the effect of extinguishing the lamp of said goal.
