The present invention relates to an entirely new type of plant pot.
The planters used up to now are generally ceramic or metal, sometimes paper or fabric. Ceramic planters, whether solid or perforated, are heavy and fragile. Metal planters are relatively expensive. They do not lend themselves well to decorative effects other than those which can be obtained by adding their shape and, moreover, are easily oxidizable. All these planters also have the usual drawback of scratching the polished surfaces on which they are placed. Paper and cloth planters are particularly ephemeral, mainly because they absorb moisture and dust.
The plant pot according to the invention does not have any of these drawbacks. It consists essentially of a sheath of cellular plastic material, such as natural or artificial rubber and more particularly, the synthetic product called nylon foam or moltoprene.
The advantages of the plant pot according to the invention will emerge from the subsequent description of some embodiments of the invention.
The description will be better understood with reference to the accompanying drawings in which; - Figure 1 shows a plant pot according to the invention, in perspective.
- Figure 2 shows an axial section of a pot provided with a pot cover according to the invention.
- Figure 3 is a section similar to Figure 2, in which the pot cover is slightly modified.
-Figure 4 is a perspective representation of the pot cover according to Figure 3.
Figure 5 is a development of the plant pot of Figure 4.
Referring to the figures, we see in Figure 1 and Figure 2 the simplest example of a plant pot according to the invention: it consists of a sheet of natural or synthetic foam rubber, and more especially of the product known as the name of moltoprene (or nylon foam), cut beforehand in the form of a circular ring sector and whose edges are joined in 2 and assembled by sewing, gluing or welding, the preferred solution consisting of welding the ends between two 'electrodes heated, following the usual technique of welding plastics.
The plant pot thus formed is extremely light. It is elastically deformable in all directions, so that it is possible to dress a series of pots of varying taper diameters with the same plastic envelope. The material adopted according to the invention has the capital advantage of being porous, so that the cabhe-pot, being permeable to air, allows the plant to breathe (as the flower pots themselves allow) . At the same time, the porosity of the material in the cachepot enables it to absorb excess moisture from, for example, clumsy watering.
The material chosen, being slightly rough, adheres easily

ment to pots of all kinds. Its contact with the furniture is gentle, so that both breakage due to too sudden handling and scratches on polished surfaces are avoided. The plant pot according to the invention is moreover easily washable.
The deformability of the material allows the happiest decorative effects - whether or not the paint is used, which easily adheres to the molds constituting the planters according to the invention.
Moltoprene, preferably chosen, is particularly advantageous because it exhibits, under the conditions of application, remarkable resistance. Flower pots are generally well lit. However, the applicant has observed that the combined action of the external light and of the water vapor coming from the "breathing" of the pot, which is harmful to most plant pots, leaves the moltoprene indifferent.
Figures 3, 4 and 5 show an alternative embodiment giving rise to a decorative effect obtained by deformation of the envelope.
Figure 3 shows the spread envelope. It is entirely circular and has (in the current embodiment) a central hole 2. Slots such as 3.3 '... are arranged radially in groups of two at regular intervals. These slits, simple incisions in the material, have been slightly exaggerated for the sake of clarity. On the sheet of material was glued, as a reinforcement, a strip of thin canvas, which also cross the slits. This reinforcement is not essential. To use this type of plant pot, we pass a ribbon 5 in the slots and, the pot being placed in the center of the spread out disc, we raise it around the pot, tightening the ribbon, which eventually ends with a knot or stapling. The material eats slightly.
If the edges of the disc are cut, it is easy to obtain effects borrowed from plant nature: corollas, leaves, etc.
It is believed that the association of these shapes and suitable colors leads to the richest decorative effects. The section according to Figure 3 shows that the lower rim of the plant pot thus produced constitutes, between the pot and the surface on which it is placed, a cushioning cushion.
It is obvious that many other variants can be imagined without departing from the scope of the invention.
