This invention relates to a device for the motor control of blinds, curtains or the like, remarkable, in particular, in that the device is enclosed inside the roller drum of the blind, so as to eliminate any bulk on the outside. of the latter for fitting out the motor as well as the movement transmission components.
The device essentially comprises an electric motor whose shaft, coinciding with the axis of the winding drum, drives said drum in rotation by means of a speed reducer, a brake and means for determining the rotation by hand of said drum. in case of failure.
The assembly is arranged inside a fixed cylindrical housing which is arranged inside the roller drum of the blind.
The motor has a conical armature, in order to ensure, at the start of its operation, an axial displacement of the shaft to operate the automatic opening of the brake, the blocking being effected by the action of a spring acting axially. on the shaft as soon as the power supply to the motor is interrupted.
The brake comprises two conical discs between which is interposed a blade formed of a material with a high coefficient of friction. One of the discs is carried by the fixed cylindrical housing, the other being wedged on the motor shaft,
The means for manually controlling the rotation of the drum comprise a grooved pulley, mounted idly on the hub of the head of the fixed housing, and around which a drive chain is wound.
This pulley moves axially under the action of a front cam driven by the traction of a cable, with a view to its coupling, via a toothed clutch, with the motor shaft and with a view to the simultaneous axial displacement of this shaft to cause the brake to open.
The invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, which show, by way of indication and without limitation, one embodiment.
- Figure 1 is a partial axial sectional view of the device, and - Figure 2 is a sectional view along the line II-II of Figure 1.
1 indicates the roller blind winding drum, inside which is arranged a diaphragm 2 delimiting the canker intended to enclose the device according to the invention. The diaphragm 2 is juxtaposed a disc 4 which is integral with an internal toothed ring 5; this disc 4 is fixed to the drum 1 by means of a tubular element 3 carrying at one end a bush 28 guiding its rotation relative to a cylindrical housing 6 arranged inside the tubular element 3 and enclosing the device drive for drum rotation 1.
Inside the box 6, in the central part, is arranged the stator 7 of the motor, of which the armature 8 of conical shape is carried by a shaft 9 coinciding with the axis of the drum 1 and can move axially against the action of a spring 13.

the latter using bolts 17.
The element 16 is closed at its end projecting outwardly by a head element 21 provided with a central hub around which is arranged an idler pulley 18, the periphery of which is provided with grooves, with a view to receiving a drive chain 19 exiting through a slot 20 of the element 16. The pulley 18 is provided with a front toothing 22 capable of engaging with a corresponding toothing of an element 23 crimped on the shaft 9.
On the hub the pulley 18 pivots a disc 24, a slight rotation of which can be ensured by a cable 30 wound around this disc; this disc 24 is provided with frontal projections 71 in the form of a cam, co-operating with a shaped ring 26 fixed to the head element 21. The disc 24 is now placed side by side, the ring 26, so that the projections 25 penetrate into the notches corresponding to the ring under, the action of a spring 27.
The device operates as follows.
In the rest position, the motor shaft 9 is pushed axially to the left under the action of the spring 13, so as to keep the conical discs 14 and 15 side by side in the braking position. As soon as the electric circuit of the motor closes, the conical armature 8 moves to the right with the shaft, ensuring the opening of the brake and the rotation of the drum winding 1 through the speed reducer 11.
In the absence of electrical energy or in the event of a motor failure, the rotation of the winding drum can be operated by hand by causing the disc 24 to perform a small rotation controlled by the cable 30, with a view to raising the projections 25 of the disc in line with the planar part of the ring 26, thus ensuring an axial displacement of the disc 24 and the pulley 18 sufficient to close the toothed clutch 22-23 and to cause an axial displacement of the 'shaft 9 to the right in order to open the brake.
By keeping the disc 24 in this position, it is possible to set the pulley 18 in rotation by means of the chain 19 to drive the drum 1 in rotation by means of the shaft 9 and the speed reducer 11.
As soon as the cable 25 is released, the disc 24 and the pulley 18 return to the left in the rest position under the action of the return spring 27, the device being ready to operate under the action of the motor 8.
