PROFILES CREUX ET COMPLEMENTAIRES POUR CHASSIS DE PORTES, FENETRES, etc...
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Les bords saillants 4, 5 et 6 dépassant les deux grands côtés 7 et 8 du profilé creux° avec les petits côtés duquel ils affleurent. La section transversale des bords saillants possède les caractéristiques d'un guidage prismatofde ouvert et est rectangulaire ou carrée;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

HOLLOW AND COMPLEMENTARY PROFILES FOR FRAMES OF DOORS, WINDOWS, etc ...
AND HUNTS MADE IN THESE PROFILES ..
There are known hollow sections for frames of doors, windows, etc., 9 in particular made of light metal constituted by a main element with a hollow profile., Elongated and rectangular ;, and having at an angle a wing perpendicular to the large neighboring dimension and whose The present invention relates to these hollow profiles and aims to provide a simple and easily executable assembly with different complementary profiles in order to be able to produce practically any shape of frame for windows and doors According to the invention, this object is achieved by arranging laterally on un'profilé hollow of the aforementioned type at the three remaining angles one of the parts 9 advantageously the projections,
open prismatic guides intended for the assembly of complementary profiles comprising the second part, advantageously the grooves, of these open prismatic guides.
It has turned out to be particularly advantageous to constitute the part of the open prismatic guides fitted out on the hollow profile by projecting edges or prismatic beads projecting on the large dimensions of the latter and whose outer surfaces are flush with the small sides of the hollow profile, these protruding edges all having the same cross section which can be rectangular, square or tapering.
The invention also relates to complementary profiles for the aforementioned hollow profiles. A complementary profile according to the invention is essentially characterized in that it comprises a bearing face for the wide sides of the hollow profile and at least the second part of the open prismatic guides, provided on this face - advantageously in the form of a groove to adapt to the protruding edges of the hollow profile
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Finally, the invention relates to frames constructed using the hollow sections and complementary sections according to the invention.
Such a frame is essentially characterized in that on the first part of the laterally open prismatic guides provided on the hollow profile, are fitted from the side and fixed by means of screws additional profiles comprising the other part of the open primatoid guides.
The profiles according to the invention as well as their assembly into a frame will be described below in more detail with reference to the appended drawings showing various embodiments. Freezes them. 1, 2, 3 are three cross sections of different embodiments of the hollow section according to the invention. Freezes them. 45 and 6 also show in cross section three embodiments of the complementary profiles. Figs. 7, 8, 9 and 10 are cross sections of composite window frames, assembled by means of profiles according to the invention.
Freezes them. 1, 2 and 3 show cross sections of three embodiments of the hollow profile according to the invention., These hollow profiles 1 are constituted by a main element 2 substantially in the shape of an elongated rectangle At one edge of this main element 2 and in parallel to one small side is fixed a wing 3, the inner face of which is advantageously hollowed out so as to present only narrow projecting bearing surfaces. With respect to the small side adjacent to the main element 2,
the wing 3 is offset outwardly so that the non-recessed parts of its inner face are in the same plane as the aforementioned small side of the main element 2 y as indicated in broken lines in the figures. The three other sides of the main element 2 are provided with projecting edges 4, 5 and 6 extending longitudinally of the hollow section; they form one of the parts of the open lateral prismatic guides, the second part of which in this case consists of grooves provided in the complementary profiles to be assembled with the main profile, as described below.
The projecting edges 4, 5 and 6 protruding from the two long sides 7 and 8 of the hollow profile ° with the short sides of which they are flush. The cross section of the protruding edges has the characteristics of an open prismatic guide and is rectangular or square;
this section can also advantageously be reduced slightly towards the outside. The main element shown in fig. 1 still has in the middle of each of the large sides 7 8 an intermediate bead 9, 10. These can be of square section or dovetailo They constitute a reinforcement of the hollow profile which, if it were divided into two along line EE would form two hollow half-sections with reinforced edges, advantageous on the one hand for the strength of these section halves and on the other hand for the sealing which is thus better achievable, given that as will be described below, the hollow profile halves are used inter alia with the intercalation of thermal insulators.
However, the hollow profile can also be executed without intermediate beads, so with the long, smooth sides (see fig. 2 and 3).
As we can see on the one hand on the freezes. 1 and 2 and on the other hand in figo 3, the hollow profile 1 is executed in two dimensions with the help of which all possible frames for doors and windows can be constructed.
The additional profiles required for the assembly of the window and door frames are shown in the figs. 4 to 60 The additional profile 11 according to figo 4 serving essentially as a stop profile, is in the form of an angle, one of the branches of which forms a bearing surface 12 for the long side of the hollow profile o On this surface is provided the second part of the open prismatic guides, which in this case is constituted by a groove 14 corresponding to the projecting edges 4, 5 and 6 of the hollow profile o The outer side of the groove 14 is formed by a bead 15 protruding from the bearing surface 12, this bead resting on the narrow side of the main section during assembly of the frame,
as it will be
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
described below. The second branch 16 is hollowed out on the inner side, so that a band-shaped bearing surface 17 is obtained lying in the same plane as the outer limiting surface of the groove 14 or the inner limiting surface of the bead 15. (see dashed line on fig 4).
The complementary profiles 18 and 19 (figs. 5 and 6) serve mainly to seal the joints between the leaf and the frame.
These two profiles comprise, like the complementary profile 11, a bearing surface 12, a groove 14 and a bead 15. The additional profile 19 of FIG. 6 has in a longitudinal edge a preferably cylindrical groove 20 closed over approximately 2700 and intended to receive included elements such as for example gaskets. while the other longitudinal edge carries a transverse connecting wing 21. The complementary profile 18 following the figure 5 also has a longitudinal edge comprising a connecting wing 21, while the other longitudinal edge is provided with a bead 22 serving stopper for the elastic seal placed in the groove 20 of the complementary profile 19.
After the assembly of a complementary section with a main section, the bead projecting laterally next to the groove forms an appendage covering the separation joint between these profiles. The complementary profile 19 also comprises, on the side opposite to the bearing surface 12, the groove 14 and the bead 15, a longitudinal groove 24 intended to receive or hold reinforcing elements, for example supports for roller shutters.
The main and complementary profiles are advantageously made of light metal.
In fig. 7 the fixed frame is designated by 1S and the opening frame by 1F. They both consist of hollow sections 1 according to FIG. 2, that is to say hollow sections without intermediate beads 9, 10, 25 and 26 denote the panes. The joints between the elements of the fixed frame and those of the opening frame are sealed by means of the complementary profiles 11, 18, 19.
For this purpose the profiles 18, 19 according to figs. 5 and 6 are fitted in such a way on the projecting edges of the neighboring hollow profiles 1S and 1F, that by leaving an opening 28 they form closures for the frame and opening on the one hand, and on the other hand the bead 22 of the complementary profile 18 engages in the groove 20 of the complementary profile 19, in which it bears on a seal 29 which is there. In this way, a chamber 30 is formed between the complementary profiles 18 and 19, communicating through the opening 28 with the outside, which allows the flow of rainwater which has entered this chamber. On the other side, the joints between the adjacent hollow profiles are closed by the complementary profile 11.
A thermal insulation chamber 31 is thus formed, the sealing of which is ensured on the one hand by the effective support of the complementary profile 11 against the fixed profile 1S while the other side of this chamber is closed by the elastic seal 29.
The pane 25 of the composite window is embedded by its edges in mastic 33 placed between the flange 3F of the hollow section 1F and an angle 34. The inner pane 26 does not require a special sealing arrangement since the pane exterior is fixed. The section 19 acts as a stop for the window 26 and is fitted onto the projecting edge towards the interior 6 of the opening frame 1F. In the position where they are fitted on the main profiles 1S and 1F, the complementary profiles 11, 18 and 19 are fixed by screws 35.
The embodiment of a frame shown in FIG. 8 does not differ from the frame according to FIG. 7 than by using more elongated main sections 1S and 1F, such as those shown in FIG. 3. The other assembly elements, identical to those of the example of FIG. 7, are designated by the same references.
Fig. 9 shows an embodiment for a steel frame.

our composition ;, in which the main profile 1S is placed by its wing 3S on the narrow side of the hollow profile 1F, thus closing the chamber 37 outwards. The latter is closed inwards by the complementary profile 11.
Fig. 10 shows a window frame construction. double glazing, in which halves of hollow profiles 2a and 2b are used, such as can be obtained by separating or dividing along line EE a hollow profile like the one shown in fig 1. In order to simplify, we has shown in this embodiment only the opening frame and not the fixed frame which can be executed substantially as for the construction according to figs. 7 to 90 The opening frame is made up of two section halves 2 a, 2b, the chambers of which are turned towards each other The stop bead 3 on the half 2a serves as a stopper for the glass 26 The bead for the other pane 25 is formed by an additional profile 11 which fits onto the half 2a and fixed by screws.
Diametrically opposed to this complementary profile 11, another identical one is fixed to the half 2b and serves as a stop cooperating with the fixed frame. Between the opposite ends of the profile halves 2a, 2b is the middle branch 40 of a substantially T-shaped construction element. This branch is covered on both sides with a thermal insulator 42 for example. a rubber band or the equivalent folded around 1 free end of the branch 40. The latter extends into the chamber between the two panes 25, 26 and its end is provided with a flange having the form of a transverse beam 43, in one piece with this branch or fixed to the latter.
This part 43 extends almost over the entire width of the space between the two vibrations 25,26 and it is placed so as to be substantially at the same height as the stop beads 3 a and 11 , thus covering almost entirely the joints with mastic 44 and any clamps or the like.
The part of the opening frame formed by one of the halves of the hollow section 2b can optionally be connected so as to be able to pivot with the other part of the frame, formed by the other half of the section 2a.
The described embodiments of the hollow sections, the complementary sections and the frame systems constituted by these sections can be modified in various ways. In particular, the frame systems described can be used both for opening windows and for tilting and pivoting windows.
