<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Exemple 2 :

PASTA FOR THE PREPARATION OF CEMENT AND THEIR MANUFACTURE.
Numerous processes are already known which make it possible to increase the mobility or to reduce the water content of pastes intended for the preparation of cement, without altering the viscosity thereof. It has been found that it is important for industrial reasons to obtain pastes having a favorable structural viscosity. In addition, the pastes should have a particularly good fluidity and should retain this during storage so that they can be kept without the appearance of sedimentation.
In addition, they should have a pour point as low as possible. However, the fluidization processes known until now do not meet these requirements to the extent necessary for industry.
The subject of the present invention is in particular a method which remedies the shortcomings of the procedure applied hitherto.
The Applicant has in fact found that it is possible to ensure a significant reduction in the necessary water content and to obtain a favorable structural viscosity of the pastes intended to provide cement after curing. The pastes obtained according to the present invention are sufficiently liquid to be able to be pumped.
According to the present invention, salts or salt compounds of polybasic organic acids are used for the production of pastes for the preparation of cement.
It is possible, for example, to use the alkali salts or the ammonium salts of aliphatic or aromatic polybasic acids, in particular.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
culier, those of tribasic or polybasic acids. For example, alkali salts and ammonium salts of citric, polyvinyl-sulfonic, polyacrylic, naphthalene-trisulfonic, naphthalene-tetrasulfonic, carbazole-tetrasulfonic and naphthol-trisulfonic acids as well as other aromatic compounds containing several compounds can be applied. sulfonic or carboxylic groups, for example, diglycolic or 4.4'-dihydroxy- acids
EMI2.1
3.3'-dicarboxylic diphenyl methane.
As additional substances, it is also possible to use, for example, the condensation products obtained from 1-sulfo-methyl-2-naphthol-6-sulfonic acid and a cresol-formaldehyde resin or the copolymers obtained with a component such as maleic acid acrylic acid, crotonic acid or vinyl sulfonic acid.
The substances specified in the present invention can be added in minimal amounts. In general, it suffices to use about 0.001% to about 0.05% by weight of the paste for the preparation of the cement. The addition of an amount of between 0.01% and 0.03% by weight has proved particularly advantageous. The substances considered here can be applied singly or as mixtures with one another.
In some cases, it is advantageous to add, in addition, compounds also having a liquefying action, for example salts of inorganic polyacids, such as alkali salts of polyphosphoric or polysilicic acids. The alkali salts of tripolyphosphoric or tetrapolyphosphoric acids, such as sodium triphosphate or sodium tetraphosphate, have proved to be particularly advantageous. These substances are also added in small amounts. About 0.003% to 0.05% by weight, based on the amount of paste intended for the preparation of cement, is sufficient. Amounts of 0.01 to 0.03% by weight have proved particularly advantageous.
In addition, it is advantageous to additionally add surface-active organic substances such as water-soluble alkyl-naphthalene-sulfonates or their substitutes. The amounts of these additional substances range from about 0.002% to about 0.01% by weight based on the amount of the dough. In particular, alkaline salts, such as sodium methyl-naphthalenesulphonate, are suitable.
To achieve a suitable pH of, for example, between about 6 and about 11, an alkali carbonate or an alkali hydroxide can also be added, for example from about 0.001% to about 0.05% by weight per weight. relative to the quantity of paste intended for the preparation of cement. The substances can be added in the form of their aqueous solutions.
Depending on the working conditions, the substances or mixtures of the substances specified above are added at any desired time, for example during the preparation of the pastes or before or during the grinding of the mineral material or also after grinding, by introduction into the finished paste or during pulping, of each component of the paste intended for the preparation of cement.
Example 1:
1000 parts by weight of a paste intended for the preparation of cement and having a water content of 28% are mixed with 0.3 part by weight of sodium citrate. The viscosity of this paste corresponds to that of a paste having a water content of 36% but containing no additional substances. This ensures a reduction in the water content from 36% to 28%.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Example 2:
To 1000 parts by weight of a paste intended for the preparation of cement and having a water content of 32%, is added, before grinding, mixing or pulping, 0.2 part by weight of polyvinyl sulfonate sodium. The viscosity of this paste containing 32% water and provided with the additional substance corresponds to that of a paste containing 37% water but devoid of additional substances. The water content was therefore reduced from 37% to 32%.
Example 3:
1000 parts by weight of a paste intended for the preparation of cement and having a water content of 30% are mixed with 0.3 part by weight of sodium carbazole-tetra-sulfonate. The viscosity of this paste corresponds to that of a paste containing 35% water but free from additional substances. This ensures a reduction in the water content from 35% to 30%.
Example 4
1000 parts by weight of a paste intended for the preparation of cement and having a water content of 28% are mixed with 0.3 part by weight of sodium polyphosphate and 0.1 part by weight of polyvinyl-sul- sodium fonate. The viscosity of this dough corresponds to that of a dough having a water content of 36% but containing no additional ingredients. The water content was reduced in this way from 36% to 28%.
Example 5:
1000 parts by weight of a paste intended for the preparation of cement and having a water content of 28% are mixed with 0.25 part by weight of sodium polyphosphate, 0.05 part by weight of methylene-naph- ammonium talenesulphonate and 0.1 part by weight of sodium naphthol-trisulphonate. The viscosity of this paste corresponds to that of a paste containing 35% water but devoid of additional ingredients. Thus, a reduction in the water content from 35% to 38% is ensured.
Example 6:
1000 parts by weight of a paste intended for the preparation of cement and having a water content of 29% are mixed with 0.25 part by weight of sodium polyphosphate, 0.05 part by weight of naphthol-trisul- sodium fonate and 0.05 part by weight of the sodium salt of the copolymer of maleic acid and vinyl acetate. The viscosity of this paste corresponds to that of a paste containing 34% water but devoid of additional substances. Thus we succeed in lowering the water content from 34% to 29%.
Example 7:
1000 parts by weight of a paste intended for the preparation of cement and having a water content of 28% are mixed with 0.25 part by weight of sodium polyphosphate, 0.05 part by weight of methylene-naph- sodium talenesulphonate, 0.1 part by weight of a condensation product obtained from 1-sulpho-methyl-2-naphthol-6-sulphonic acid and a cresol-formaldehyde resin in the form of its sodium salt. The viscosity of this paste corresponds to that of a paste containing 35% water but devoid of additional substances. Thus it is possible to reduce the water content from 35% to 28% without altering the viscosity.
