Le dispositif conforme à 1'invention, présente les avantages suivants: - il est entièrement séparé du transformateur ce qui permet en cas d'avarie éventuelle ou d'entretien de réduire au minimum la mise hors service de l'appareil;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Dans le cas de commutation sur un enroulement étoile, celle-ci peut être réalisée en un point quelconque de l'enroulement; la fig. 2 est un schéma de montage, conforme à l'invention, dans son application à un montage en triangle; la fig. 3 représente la chaîne des inter-locks associés aux interrupteurs dans la position qu'ils occupent lors du branchement sur la prise intermédiaire du transformateur; la fig. 4 représente la chaîne des inter-locks associés aux interrupteurs dans la position quils occupent lors du branchement sur l'une des prises:: extrêmes du transformateur;

A ou C)y on a désigné par le5 lu, 1" des inter-locks associés à l'interrupteur tripolaire 1, par 2 2" et 2 des inter-locks associés à l'interrupteur tripolaire 2, par 3? 311 et 3'le des inter-locks associés à 1'interrupteur tripolaire 3, et par 4', 4" et 4" des interlocks associés à l'interrup- teur tripolaire 4;

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

IMPROVEMENT OF TRANSFORMER SUPPORT CHANGE SYSTEMS.
It is known., To go from one outlet socket of a transformer to another empty outlet socket., To pass through an impedance which makes it possible to avoid both the cut of the current and the short -momentary circuit of part of the transformer winding.
On the other hand, experience shows that in many cases, and especially for 60,000 volts / 15,000 volts transformers, three adjustable on-load taps would be sufficient for the operator, namely a daytime outlet, a power outlet. night and a peak hold.
The object of the present invention is a new simplified device for changing taps using an auxiliary impedance and applying more specifically to transformers having three vacuum taps which can be easily output or removed.
The invention is characterized by a new switching scheme making it possible to execute a tap change order only in the case where the preparation of the circuit has already been carried out correctly. The diagram comprises four high voltage switches controlled by groups of relays mounted on the triple inter-locks of said switches. The device according to the invention triggers the transformer when a discrepancy appears between the actual position of the various switching members and the theoretical position they should occupy.
The device according to the invention has the following advantages: it is entirely separate from the transformer, which, in the event of any damage or maintenance, makes it possible to reduce the device out of service to a minimum;
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
- it makes it possible to obtain, given the discrepancy tripping of the transformer, a protection independent of the usual protections which however remain necessary; - it has a very low cost price allowing much more decentralization of the support (maneuverable manually or by clock

ges, on an established program d:> advance) "at different voltage levels.
The invention will be better understood by referring to the following description of an embodiment taken as an example, without any limiting nature of the scope of the invention, and shown in the appended schematic drawing, in which: FIG. 1 is a circuit diagram, in accordance with the invention, in its application to a star connection (neutral to earth or isolated).
In the case of switching on a star winding, this can be carried out at any point of the winding; fig. 2 is an assembly diagram, according to the invention, in its application to a delta assembly; fig. 3 shows the chain of inter-locks associated with the switches in the position they occupy when connecting to the intermediate plug of the transformer; fig. 4 shows the chain of inter-locks associated with the switches in the position they occupy when connecting to one of the ends :: the transformer;
fig. 5. finally .., represents the general manual control device or by contact clock.
On figs 1 and 2, for each of the three phases I, II, III, A, B and C have been designated by the three groups of no-load outputs of the three-phase transformer, by R the auxiliary impedances and by l, 2, 3 and 4 the high voltage switches.
In fig. 3 and 4 corresponding respectively to connection to socket B (position B) and connection to socket A or C (position
EMI2.2
A or C) are there designated by le5 lu, 1 "of the inter-locks associated with the three-pole switch 1, by 2 2" and 2 of the inter-locks associated with the three-pole switch 2, by 3? 311 and 3'le of the inter-locks associated with the three-pole switch 3, and by 4 ', 4 "and 4" of the interlocks associated with the three-pole switch 4;
inter-locks are preferably of the limit switch type (opening and closing).
EMI2.3
On the other hand, we have designated respectively by E1, E 2-1E3 and E the engagement coils of the switches 1, 2, 3 and 4, and respectively by
EMI2.4
Dl, D21 D, and D4 the tripping coils of switches 1, 2, 3 and 4. The references da, db, de represent relays whose resistance is

strong in front of that of the coils E 3, El and D with which they are respectively placed in series, the references Ai ,, B91 and Gal respectively representing switches actuated by the relays A ', B' and C 'of FIG. 5, while D 'represents an auxiliary fast tripping relay.
The + and - signs respectively represent the terminals of a battery intended to supply the various relays.
On the diagram in figure 5 the reference letters a b, c respectively represent the positions of a manual switch M or a contact clock corresponding to the taps A, B and G of the transformer., While
EMI2.6
A '29 B12 and G' 2 represent switches respectively actuated by the relays Ae, B 'and 0'. It is indicated by dal and da2y dbï and db 2e of 1 and dc2 of the switches actuated respectively by the relays da, db and de. Finally D'1 represents a switch actuated by the relay D '.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Given the perfect symmetry of positions A and C, we will only describe the passage from position B to position A and the return from position A to position B.
EMI3.1
When the switch is in position B, at its origin, only switch 2 is closed, which ensures the connection in position B of the transformer; the inter-locks 2 are alone in the working position, the chain of the inter-locks being as shown in Figure 3.
EMI3.2
The relays AD and 09 not being energized as shown in fig.5, the switches A $) 1 and BJ) 1 are open and the relays da and de are energized, closing the corresponding switches; the relays E1 and E3 are not energized because their windings are dimensioned, by construction, such that, placed in series respectively with da and de, only the latter are energized.
When moving from position B to position A, A 'is excited,
EMI3.3
A91 and A-42 close, relay da is short-circuited and E is energized; 1-switch 3 is therefore engaged and the inter-locks corresponding to 1? interruptevr 3 are put into the working position, which energizes the relay D2 thus triggering the switch 2; between switching on of switch 3 and switching on of switch 2, 1-impedance R is energized.
EMI3.4
The triggering of the switch 2 puts the corresponding inter-locks in the rest position thus switching on the switch 40. We are thus connected in position A, the impedance R having only been switched on temporarily.
The position of the inter-locks is then that shown in fig 4 in solid lines.
When moving from position A to position B, B 'is excited
EMI3.5
B $ 1 closes, Du is energized and switch 4 opens, causing 4J) fI to be inverted; then E2 is energized, switch 2 closes (at this moment the impedance R is on) 2 "'goes into working position which triggers D, 1-switch 3 is cut; we are therefore back to initial position
When there is a mismatch between the current position of one of the switches and the normal position it is to occupy, the da, db and de relays move to a position such that the transformer tripping occurs. whatever the position of the switch.
It can be seen that with the assembly that is the subject of the invention, the relays da and de are energized when the contacts da1 and de- are open.
In the event that a discontinuity occurs in the supply circuit of relays da and dc, which would correspond to a current position mismatch of one of the switches 1, 2, 3 or 4 with respect to the position that it must occupy, the relays da and de would no longer be energized and closing the contacts dal and 1 would trigger the transformer.
This tripping must be delayed for a period of time necessary for the operation of the switches to avoid unwanted tripping during a tap change operation.
If we then move the manual switch M (or the 1-clock contact) to position a, relay da is energized by contact da and
EMI3.6
we feed the relay A- 'which s j) exci teo
Any discrepancy between the actual position of the switches and that which they should theoretically occupy causes the transformer to be switched off.
EMI3.7
It is possible to further increase the safety of the device by adding a relay D 'which will trigger instantaneous tripping in the event of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
of simultaneous inadvertent closing of switches 1 and 3. Since switches 1 and 3 are normally never closed at the same time, relay D 'must never be exictéo
In the case where switch 1 is closed, the interlock 3 "'of switch 3 is open and short-circuits the winding of D' which cannot be energized. In the case where it is on the contrary Switch 3 which is closed, interlock 1 "'of switch 1 is open and relay D' is not supplied.
In the event that switches 1 and 3 are closed simultaneously, there would be power supply to D ', which would cause instantaneous tripping.
The operation of the device according to the invention can be summarized as follows:
1 Switching from position B to position A: initially switch 2 alone is closed, A'l closes, resulting in 3 engagement, 2 release and 4 engagement.
2 Switching from position B to position C: originally switch 2 alone is closed, C'1 closes., Hence. switch on 1, switch off 2 and switch on 4.
3 Switching from position A to position B: originally switches 3 and 4 are closed, B 'closes? hence triggering 4, triggering 2 and triggering 3 (1 is already open).
4 Switching from position C to position B: initially switches 1 and 4 are closed, B'1 is formed, hence 4 engagement, 2 engagement and 1 release (3 is already open)
Of course, various changes, improvements or additions can be made to the embodiment described, or certain devices may be replaced by equivalent devices, without thereby altering the general economy of the invention.
