RECIPIENT D'EXPEDITION.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

SHIPPING CONTAINER.
The invention relates to a shipping container and aims to achieve lower transportation costs and simplification of shipping for goods of any kind.
According to the present invention, the collapsible shipping container known per se is combined with wheels and its contents or respectively its dimensions are made suitable to adapt to the needs of each particular case.
In a particular embodiment of the folding option, the walls are constructed so as to be able to fold up not only relative to the bottom of the container but also on themselves, so that, depending on the weight or respectively the nature of the material to be shipped, the loaded and closed container can have different heights.
According to the invention, the folding of the walls is improved or facilitated if two of the walls opposite to each other, preferably the two longitudinal walls, are not articulated directly on the bottom of the container but on a rod mounted on this background.
According to the invention, the wheels which until now had not yet been connected to a box which can be folded up to its bottom, are chosen small, and are arranged below the bottom so that the rim does not does not prevent the side walls from folding. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. Figures 1 and 2 show the container in the fully and half-folded state, and Figure 3, the container in the fully folded state.
In the figures, a represents the bottom of the container, on which are mounted the front and back walls b and the two side walls c articulated by means of hinges d. The lower hinge axes of the opposing ridges are arranged at different heights relative to the bottom of the container, so that the walls overlap so as to be as parallel as possible to the bottom a when the container is folded.
The rods e, f, fixed to the bottom therefore have different heights and the parts
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The lower parts of the parcels in turn have different heights corresponding to the first ones. If the container is filled with a product of high specific weight which only allows partial use of the maximum load height, the upper parts of the walls can be folded in or outwards depending on the position of the hinges (fig. 2).
In the exemplary embodiment, the two parts of the walls b, c feel articulated to each other o But :::: can also arrange the parts or the individual plates respectively so that they can move parallel between them and in this case, special measures must still be provided to keep the parts in the corresponding position o An embodiment of this type would still have the advantage that the container could be given a greater number of different heights even if the walls consist of only two parts.
The four walls are held together if they are held against each other by hooks g on the corners.
A plane which covers the container from above can be fixed in a known manner to the upper edge of the upper wall piece.
With the new transport container, the maximum economic efficiency of the vehicles used to transport the container is ensured in a continuous transport operation.
In the exemplary embodiment, the top edge of the container has the same height all around when the container is fully unfolded and different heights (somewhat higher side walls) when the container is only unfolded halfway. These dimension ratios can however be any. Three of the four walls can also be connected together so that they remain vertical when one wall is folded down, to facilitate loading and unloading as is already known per se for this purpose on trucks.
As motor trucks usually have a maximum width of 2.50 m and a length of 5 m, it is advisable to give the bottom of the shipping container a width of about 0.75 m. and length of about 1.50 mo
