PERFECTIONNEMENTS AUX PERCOLATEURS A CAFE DE MENAGE.
La présente invention se rapporte aux percolateurs pour la préparation du café. Elle a pour objet un percolateur d'un modèle approprié aux besoins ménagers, qui offre l'avantage de permettre de remplir directement des tasses à la manière des percolateurs, de comptoirs utilisés dans les cafés et restaurants, au lieu de devoir recueillir en une fois tout le café dans un récipient pour le verser ensuite dans les tasses, comme c'est le cas pour les percolateurs de ménage existants.
Suivant une caractéristique de l'invention. le percolateur est muni d'un obturateur permettant d'interrompre le passage de la vapeur vers le café moulu, et d'un dispositif de sureté permettant la sortie de la vapeur avant cet obturateur.
Suivant une autre caractéristique, le percolateur est muni d'un ajutage de sortie de l'infusion qui est divisé en deux ou plusieurs branches pôur remplir simultanément deux ou plusieurs tasses de café.
Suivant une autre caractéristique encore, l'ensemble du percolateur est à double paroi, un espace d9air immobile étant ménagé entre les deux parois pour réduire les pertes de chaleur par rayonnement. Si on le désire cet espace peut également etre rempli d'une matière thermo-isolante ou calorifuge.
Une forme d'exécution préférée de l'invention sera décrite ci-après avec référence au dessin annexé qui représente le percolateur en coupe verticale.
Dans ce dessin, 1 représente le récipient destiné à contenir l'eau. Cette eau est portée à ébullition par un moyen de chauffage approprié, par exemple par une résistance électrique (non représentée) placée sous le récipient 1. La vapeur formée s'échappe par le tuyau 2 qui s'élève d'abord verticalement, puis est coudé horizontalement, et redescend verticalement après un nouveau coude à angle droit. égal au diamètre du tuyau, et dans sa partie descendante une plaque 4 percée d'un passage analogue.
Ces plaques, fixées par exemple par soudure ou par pattes rivées à la paroi extérieure 5, assurent la rigidité de l'ensemble et s'opposent au déplacement de l'air contenu entre la paroi 5 et les parois extérieures du récipient 1 et du tuyau 2.
L'extrémité 6 du tuyau 2 est ouverte,de sorte que la vapeur arrive immédiatement au-dessus du café moulu placé sur une plaque perforée 8.
Au contact du café, la vapeur se condense, l'extraction du café s'effectue et l'infusion tombe goutte à goutte dans l'ajutage 9 dont le diamètre se réduit progressivement en une partie étranglée 10 qui se divise ensuite en deux branches 11, 11 conduisant chacune le café dans une tasse. Pour soutenir les tasses, une console est montée sur la paroi extérieure 5 de l'appareil.
La hauteur du plateau 13 de la console peut être réglée en faisant coïncider l'un ou l'autre des trous de la colonne 14 coulissant dans un pied creux 15, avec un des trous de ce pied, et en plaçant une goupille 16 dans les trous en regard. Une poignée en matièr. isolante 17 est montée du côté opposé sur la paroi extérieure 5.
Lorsqu'on a obtenu la quantité désirée de café, on interrompt l'arrivée de vapeur en fermant le robinet 18 intercalé dans le tuyau 2. Pour éviter tout risque d'explosion.\! un dispositif de sûreté 19 est placé sur le récipient 1 pour permettre l'échappement de la vapeur qui se formerait encore après fermeture du robinet 18. Ce dispositif 19 est avantageusement un tiroir mettant le récipient 1 en communication avec l'atmosphère. Pour évacuer le marc de café, on dévisse l'ensemble formé par l'ajutage 9 et en s'aidant d'une poignée 20, on dévisse éventuellement les deux branches 11, on enlève' la plaque perforée et le marc de café, et on remonte l'appareil après rinçage de ces diverses parties.
L'appareil suivant l'invention réunit les avantages des divers appareils connus pour la préparation du café, sans présenter leurs inconvénients. Il permet d'extraire avec un excellent rendement l'arôme et les principes essentiels du café, d'interrompre l'opération en fermant le robinet 18 et de la reprendre ensuite si on le désire. Il convient pour remplir directement des tasses sans risque de débordement et sans interposition d'un récipient intermédiaire.

1. - Percolateur de ménage comportant un récipient dans lequel l'eau est portée à ébullition et un conduit amenant la vapeur en contact avec le café moulu, caractérisé en ce qu'un obturateur permettant d'interrompre le passage de la vapeur vers le café est intercalé dans le conduit, et un dispositif de sûreté permettant l'échappement de la vapeur est prévu en aval de l'obturateur, afin que l'écoulement de l'infusion puisse être arrêté à volonté sans danger d'explosion.
2.- Percolateur de ménage suivant la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que l'obturateur est un robinet placé sur le tuyau de vapeur.
