RECLAME LUMINEUSE COMPORTANT UN EMBALLAGE CYLINDRIQUE TRANSPARENT
A FONDS METALLIQUES.

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

LUMINOUS RECLAIM WITH TRANSPARENT CYLINDRICAL PACKAGING
WITH METAL BOTTOMS.
The present invention relates to a luminous advertisement comprising at least one transparent cylindrical packaging with metallic bases.
In general, bulky interior-lit objects, used for advertising purposes, are divided into two categories: that of objects that imitate the shape and / or dimensions of the actual packaging and that of promotional items which have any shape relative to that of the packaging of the advertised merchandise. In either case, interior lighting is usually produced by an incandescent lamp and it is necessary to provide both transparency and resistance to heating due to the interior lamp (s) or even to the heater. incombustibility.
This leads to the construction of the advertising object, in most cases, of a material or materials quite other than the actual packaging, following specific processes distinct from those of the manufacture of the actual packaging. This therefore results in two parallel productions which do not fail to be expensive.
According to the present invention, the advertising object is of the category of those which imitate the shape and dimensions of the actual package and which are constructed in a simple and easy manner from the actual package where a lamp is housed. in the space normally occupied by the actual goods.
The invention relates more particularly to advertising objects simulating a metallic cylindrical box, the label of which occupies a cylindrical area of the box.
According to the invention, the advertising object is obtained from the actual empty cylindrical metallic packaging box by removing a cylindrical area of the actual box, replacing said area with a tube of approximately the same diameter of a transparent material covering the sleeve.

One of the advantages of the present invention is that it satisfies the simultaneous requirements of transparency and transparency at low cost.

resistance to heating, including incombustibility, said tube providing transparency and upper bottom, only part of the object
EMI2.3
An advertisement exposed to both conduction heating and radiation heating providing resistance to heating, including non-combustibility.
EMI2.4
The invention also recommends making use of -preferen-- this of several of the advertising boxes described above, preferably by arranging them between actual boxes.
It is also preferable that the lighting of the advertising box or boxes be intermittent, so as to strike the customers by the interior illumination of a box or boxes which nothing, on the outside, distinguishes from its real neighbors.
It is understood that, in the present description, the term "real" applies to the box used for the packaging of the merchandise covered by the advertisement or to a box identical to said box, the advertising box. being obtained from the actual box.

In the accompanying drawings are shown by way of example several embodiments of the present invention.
Fig. 1 shows in perspective and schematically an advertising device according to the present invention, comprising three advertising boxes, the electrical circuit comprising a flasher and an anti-interference device.

electric according to fig. 1.
Fig. 4 schematically represents another variant of the circuit.
According to the embodiment shown in the drawings an actual empty cylindrical canister is cut along the circum-

references 1 and 2 and the sheet metal cylinder between said cirqonferences is moved apart. There thus remain two metal bases 3, 4 comprising a rim belonging to the primitive cylindrical periphery of the real box. The distance of the two circumferences 1 and 2 is substantially equal to the height of the label 5 or of the part thereof which is de- scribed.

sire illuminated from inside.
The base 3, chosen as the lower base, is centrally drilled with a hole where a screw 6 is inserted which serves to fix on the base a socket 7 with a flat base, in which the base of a lamp 8 is screwed.
In this exemplary embodiment, the edges of the funds
EMI2.9
are substantially truncated with a taper pointing towards the interior of the box. A tube 9 of transparent material, for example parchment, is passed through one end over the rim of the bottom 3, the contested of said rim facilitating its introduction into the tube. The tube 9 has a lateral opening 10 through which the electrical conductors coming from the outside are introduced and connected to the terminals of the socket 7. The bottom flange 4 is introduced into the upper end of the tube 9. A real label 5 is stuck on the advertising box as it is usually on the real box.
Preferably, the tube 9 is glued to the rim of the bottom 3 while
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
that the bottom 4 is simply introduced into the tube 9, or the bottom 4. is also connected to the tube 9 by a paper hinge, for example. This arrangement allows the possible replacement of the lamp without causing the dislocation of the advertising box.
Preferably, the opening 10 receives a bakelite feed-through pipe 11 or any other device which protects the edges of the opening 10 by insulating them mechanically and, preferably electrically from the electric wires and which prevents the latter from being cut by. said edges.
The opening 10 and / or the pipe 11 preferably have a larger section than that occupied by the wires, which allows the outside air to enter the advertising box and to cool it by convection. This ventilation device is advantageously completed by holes made in the upper base 4, holes which provide an outlet for the convection current.
The tube 9 may be of a height slightly greater than that of the label 5, so as to show the latter, a part which can be hidden by the rim of the lower bottom.
Use is preferably made of several advertising boxes, preferably arranged among actual boxes, for example in a display. The lighting of the advertising box or advertising boxes or some thereof is preferably intermittent.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, three advertising boxes with simultaneous intermittent lighting are used. For this purpose, each of the pairs of conductors coming from each box is connected to a contact with male plugs 12, which contacts are plugged into a "domino" socket 13 which is fiqhée in the socket 14 of a flasher 15 with a label known per se, intended to interrupt and re-establish intermittently the advertising circuit. The flasher input terminals are connected to the network.
Preferably, an anti-interference device 16, consisting of a capacitor, for example from 0.1 to 0.5 microfarad, is connected to the input terminals of the flasher, as shown in FIG. l. However, further elimination of radio interference is obtained by connecting said capacitor in parallel with the flasher chip, that is to say across the flasher terminals between which the conductor which has the flashing interval passes.
In this exemplary embodiment, the lamps are connected in parallel to the network, via the flashing light 15. It follows that each of them is subjected to the voltage of the network. Thus, it is necessary to use lamps with 220 volts if this is the tension of the network.
In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 3, a lamp 17 is placed in series with two lamps in parallel 18. In this case. If the network has a voltage of 220 volts, 110 volt lamps can be used. If one chooses lamps 18 which at 110 volts consume 5 watts, one can employ a lamp 17 which consumes 10 watts at 110 volts; the three lamps will then operate at their nominal voltage and wattage.
But it is also possible to use, as shown by the example of FIG. 3, all other things being equal, a 17 lamp that consumes 15 watts at 110 volts. In this case, for a 220 mains voltage, the lamp 17 is under-voltage to about 88 volts while the lamps 18 are boosted to about 132 volts, which produces a contrast effect.
In this case also, the flashing light placed in series with the lamp 18 and incorporated for example in the socket of this lamp, is preferably accompanied by an anti-interference device 16, connected to the terminals of the interval or, as shown in the figure. figure, to the terminals of the socket which contains the flashing light
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
In this case, also, the lighting of all three lamps is simultaneous, as is their extinction.
In the embodiment according to figure 4, the three lamps 19, and their flashing light are set in series, the flashing light being for example incorporated in the socket of one of the lamps. If one chooses lamps of which each consumes 5 watts at 110 volts and if the network has a voltage of 220 volts, the lamps will be dimmed to about 73 volts. As in the previous case, use is preferably made of an anti-interference device 16 arranged in a similar manner.
Numerous wiring variations of nominal and effective voltages and of nominal and effective power of the lamps are possible. It is thus possible to flash one lamp only, or certain lamps only of any number of lamps in advertising boxes, or else to flash the lamps or certain lamps not simultaneously, or to combine the illumination of the lamps differently.
The invention has been described purely as an indication and without limitation and it goes without saying that many other modifications can be made to its detail without departing from its spirit.
CLAIMS.
1. Cylindrical advertising packaging characterized by a transparent side wall adapted to metal bases to constitute a coherent and removable constructive whole in which is housed an electric lamp placed inside said packaging and connected to the network in view. to illuminate the said wall from the inside and to highlight by contrast any sign arranged on the transparent wall during the period of internal lighting while on closing of the electrical circuit the packaging presents the appearance of normal retail packaging, means being provided first for arranging the lamp in the packaging,
then to avoid the cutting of the wires of the electrical circuit, and finally to create a circulation of air in the repacking which does not harm the overall aesthetics.
