<EMI ID=1.1>

IMPROVEMENTS IN DIRECT CURRENT WELDING PLANTS.
Arc welding installations are already known which are supplied with two-phase or three-phase power, but comprising rectifiers which transform the supplying alternating current into unidirectional current so that the welding arc operates at direct current. These installations generally use the principle of the leakage transformer - or a combination of various elements (chokes, transformers and rectifiers) ensuring direct current.

However, transformers with a falling characteristic, however desirable they may be for supplying a welding arc, do not specifically take into account the rapid variations in speed which occur during work, nor do they make it possible to remedy the problems. overcurrents from short circuits *, both during ignition and during operation
The object of the present invention is particular provisions applying to installations of this nature, in order to provide them with effective adjustment means which instantly meet all the needs of the electric welding arc, before, during and after its ignition.
For this, variable reactance coil coils are introduced into the secondary circuit of the transformer (s) or auto-transformers supplying the rectifiers, the premagnetization windings of which comprise two direct current circuits, so that the welding current is determined 1 [deg.] Before switching on by first establishing the voltage and current regimes.

The characteristics and advantages of the invention will be better understood by referring to the following description and figures, to which it is appropriate not to attach any limiting nature since they relate to embodiments intended to serve as a 'examples and likely to give rise to variations.

Another characteristic of the assembly shown in figure 4 lies in the fact that it makes it possible to correct the welding regime in the event of a variation occurring in the voltage of the supply network, a variation which reacts in the same direction (more or less). on the no-load voltage of the system,
