 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 tion

   Fig. 2 est une coupe longitudinale partielle.

    REVENDICATIONS.

  HEADLIGHT; -SE'FIXANT'AU-GUIDON'D "'A.BICYCLETTE or MOTORCYCLE.

   The invention relates to a headlight which attaches to the handlebars of a bicycle or a motorcycle and has a two-part housing, divided vertically,
A headlight is known which attaches to the handlebars of a bicycle or a motorcycle and also comprises a vertically divided bipartite housing, the elements of which embrace the handlebars by means of corresponding semi-cylindrical cutouts, while the handlebar support penetrates into the handlebars. the housing from below.

   This known headlight, however, has the disadvantage of not being adjustable. In addition, the vertical separation seal facilitates the penetration of moisture into the interior of the housing.

   In order to avoid these drawbacks and according to the invention, the front half of the headlight is provided with a rear wall, so that it is protected against the penetration of moisture by the vertical separation joint and by the slot provided in the rear half of the headlight and intended for the passage of the handlebar support. This construction also allows an easily adjustable fixing of the headlight housing to the two bars of the handlebar, since said rear wall can be used for mounting suitable fixing means, for example: clamps and fixing screws.

   In the case of flanges, it is advisable to provide this wall with a semi-cylindrical notch which fits on the two bars of the handlebars. The counter flange which would otherwise be necessary can thus be eliminated. To ensure a good connection between the front and rear halves of the headlight, it is advantageous to provide the front half with an extension intended to receive and center the rear half. The two halves are brought together ;, as is known per se, by means of screws which-., In order to prevent as much as possible the theft of the lighthouse ;, are arranged so as to be accessible only after removal of the circle glass retainer, which closes the front half-headlight.

   The drawing shows an example of the bicycle headlight according to the invention.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 tion
Fig. 1 is a rear view of a headlight attached to a handlebar with the rear half-headlight removed.

   Fig. 2 is a partial longitudinal section.

   The front half-headlight 1 has a rear wall 2 which protects the interior of the headlight against the penetration of moisture both by the vertical seal and by the slot 10 provided in the rear half-headlight 4 to allow passage of the support. handlebar 11. The front of the headlight is closed, as is known per se, by the wedge ring 3. At the rear of the front half 1 of the headlight, is connected the rear half-headlight 4 is mounted on an extension 5 which ensures its centering. According to this example of the invention, the headlight is fixed by securing the front half-headlight 1 by clamping flanges 6 and fixing screws 7 to the two handlebar bars 8. The rear wall 2 is provided with this. end of a notch 9 which adapts to the two handlebar bars.

   The rear half-headlight, which includes the slot 10, is rigidly joined to the front half-headlight by the two screws 12. The two halves of the headlight can be made of embossed sheet metal or injection molded.

   To fix the headlight to the bicycle, the front half 1, including the ring 3 carrying the reflector and the lens, is fitted to the latter using the clamps 6, and after having adjusted the light brush. , this half-headlight is fixed to the two handlebar bars 8 by fully tightening the screws 7. The brush is adjusted by pivoting the half-headlight 1 around the horizontal axis of these bars . The ring 3 is then removed and one. Fit the rear half-headlight on the extension 5 where it is fixed by the two screws 12. Then reassemble the ring.
