  DESCRIPTION DE   1.? APPAREIL.   



   Se compose d'un plan horizontal A pour la stabilité de l'appareil qui est monté sur roues pour le déplacement. Sur un côté, deux assemblages ver- ticaux en fer U B et B' servent de guide à la partie mobile C de l'appareil. 



  Au sommet de ceux-ci, un axe de transmission D garni d'un pignon de commande E et d'engrenages coniques F et F'. Deux vis de commande H et H'. Un pignon de commande avec manivelle G. La partie mobile C formée en équerre est munie de galets sur le plan vertical et coulisse dans les gorges formées par les fers UBet B'. Sur le plan mobil horizontal, deux tubes K et K' supportent une série de grandes tenailles L et L' qui reçoivent le malade à soulever. Un axe avec toile X au centre pour supporter le malade. Une clef à 4 bras N et un dispositif de calage O. La tenaille L est formée par deux grands bras P et P'. 



  Près du point de suspension un ressort R provoque l'écartement des bras. Une barre S avec crans d'arrêt et ressort de rappel T. Un corbeau de calage U a l'extrémité inférieure du bras de la tenaille, un support en forme d'une main M. 



   FONCTIONNEMENT. 



   Pour monter ou descendre les tenailles qui doivent recevoir la personne on tourne la manivelle G elle communique le mouvement au moyen d'une chaîne à la transmission D du sommet qui, par ses engrenages coniques F et F' entraîne les vis H et H' qui supportent l'assemblage mobile. 



   Elevez suffisamment les tenailles pour qu'il soit possible de placer l'appareil au dessus du lit, puis ouvrez les tenailles L. Pour cela, vous décalez la barre S en changeant la position du corbeau de calage U, vous appuyez sur le pommeau de la barre S et les bras s'ouvrent au maximum. 



   Placez alors l'appareil au dessus du lit et descendez les tenail- les de façon que celles-ci arrivent à prendre en dessous de la personne. Refer- mez alors les branches de la tenaille et pour éviter l'ouverture, calez la bar- re S avec le corbeau U. Vous tournez alors la manivelle G et le malade se sou-
