METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FURNITURE-IN-TUBES OR METAL PROFILES AND
PRODUCTS MADE BY MEANS OF THIS PROCESS.
The invention relates to a new method of manufacturing armchairs and chairs in tubes or metal profiles with inherent elasticity, which differs essentially from known construction systems in that the tubes forming the uprights join and assemble. in the front vertical plane of the cabinet, regardless of the assembly method used
This arrangement, while considerably facilitating the stacking of armchairs or chairs, also ensures a double axial and lateral suspension.
The profiling of the tubes for the desired result can be achieved in different ways depending on the type of chair or chair desired; the drawing appended to this specification shows, by way of example only, a few particularly interesting types.
In this drawing:
Figures 1 and 2 are two perspective views in elevation of a type of execution of chair according to 1-'invention differing only in the type of trim
Figure 3 is a front elevational view of another type of chair.
Figure 4 is a perspective elevational view of a type of chair according to the invention.
Figures 5 and 6 show in perspective a stack of chairs of each of the types shown in FIG. 1 and 2 and a stack of chairs of the type 'shown in Fig 4.
In the type of armchairs shown in Figs 1 and 2, tubes la and Il! intended to form the vertical uprights and extended horizontally by a supporting section c intersect in the anterior plane at d, one of the uprights la consisting of two parts welded to the upright of a part 1b.
To the frame formed by the tubes 1a and 1b is fixed a frame e on which is suitably mounted a braided material or other f forming, either separately or as a continuous part, the backrest and the seat.

In order to avoid any cutting of the tubes and the waste which may result therefrom, it is possible to adopt the tubular profiling shown in Figo 3, where we see the tubes 1a and 1b approaching each other in the plane anterior central and join vertically over a suitable length in g to be welded to one another or assembled by bolting, screwing or with carefully arranged collars, before separating to form a double bearing surface.
A similar profiling is used in the case of the chair shown in Figa 4, where the tubes 1a and 1b are also joined together and welded in the vertical-anterior plane. The backrest and the seat will be made of any suitable wood material, sheet metal, etc.
As shown in Figs 5 and 6, the armchairs like the chairs, manufactured in accordance with the invention can be stacked easily, constituting a rigid and space-saving assembly. In addition, as has been said, in addition to the lateral suspension usual, the proposed method of manufacture ensures axial suspension by virtue of the junction in a vertical plane of the uprights or legs of the furniture.
CLAIMS.
1. A method of manufacturing furniture, especially armchairs and chairs, in tubes or metal profiles, characterized in that the uprights are joined and are assembled in the front vertical plane of the furniture by any suitable means, ensuring, in addition to a easy stacking, both lateral and axial suspension.
