Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

     DISPOSITIF-POUR EMPECHER LE COINCAGE ET LA CHUTE DES TIROIRS DE
MEUBLE.

II = coupe suivant AB
III = coupe suivant CD

     DEVICE - TO PREVENT JAMMING AND DROPPING OF DRAWERS
FURNITURE.

   In the sketch, 1 = plan view of the partially open drawer and its frame
II = cut along AB
III = cut according to CD
IV = elevation and profile views of the slide.

   The side faces of the drawer & the frame are hollowed out from one end to the other with a groove, the shape of which is different from half of its length (see cuts AB & CD made respectively in the first and second half of the drawer).

   In the groove moves a slide (a) independent of the drawer & whose purpose is to prevent the latter from jamming. The slide is engaged in the frame when the cabinet is assembled. Unlike the grooves, the slide is of the same shape over its entire length5 except that at its end abutting against the bottom of the cabinet, it ends in a stopper (t) intended to prevent the drawer from falling when it reaches the bottom. end of its race.

   The slide has a small metal wedge on its front face (c) attached by two screws. Normally this wedge is in the position shown on the plan, but thanks to a buttonhole which is made from top to bottom. can slide behind the screws and be raised when it is necessary to remove the drawer.

   When you start to open the drawer, the slide remains in place until the drawer has reached half of its travel, since until then it has not been hampered by the shape of the groove made in the first half of the side of the drawer (see CD cutout)
The shape of the groove then becomes different (see section AB) and the slide continues to advance. draws with it the slide whose wedge is driven by the drawer.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   When the drawer comes to the end of its travel, it is prevented from falling by the small stopper (t) which ends the slide, this stopper then coming to abut against the frame (see shape of the groove made in the first half of the frame, on the CD cup).

   To remove and replace the drawer, simply lift up by hand the small wedge attached to the front of each slide.
