Le cabestan est avantageusement agencé à l'extrémité supérieure de la galerie et accouplé en vue de son entraînement avec la commande ou la poulie de renvoi du transporteur sans fin en service dans la galerie, tandis qu'à l'extrémité inférieure de la galerie sont agencés une poulie de renvoi et des galets ten- deurs pour le guidage en retour du câble sans fin. Le câble d'avancement peut;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

ADVANCING DEVICE FOR HAVEY MACHINES.
The present invention relates to an advancement device for cutting machines, suitable for felling in a gallery in which the part of the roof immediately adjacent to the front of the coal is not yet supported; by props (the so-called front hitch without shanks), preferably for haver machines which are arranged to be able to be moved on the transport vehicle used in the gallery, to keep as narrow as possible the free space between the working face and the backfill It is above all when having machines are still combined with loading or clearing machines that the devices used for advancing are subject to severe requirements.
The advancement of a cutting machine is usually achieved by the fact that a winch mounted on the cutting machine winds up a cable which is mostly attached to the transport vehicle in use in the gallery. In this case, the cutting must be interrupted periodically because the winding drum of the cutting machine can only store a limited length of cable and therefore the length of the feed cable does not correspond. than a fraction of the gallery length. As a result, the cable has to be pulled out from time to time during the cutting work of a layer and put back in place again.
In order to obtain greater advancement efficiency and ensure uninterrupted cutting operation, the advancement device according to the invention consists of an endless cable extending over the entire length of the gallery, which is looped in several turns. around a capstan and is kept in continuous rotational movement by it and which can be coupled to the shearer by means of a jaw clamping system which can be engaged by hand.
The capstan is advantageously arranged at the upper end of the gallery and coupled for its drive with the control or the return pulley of the endless conveyor in service in the gallery, while at the lower end of the gallery are arranged a return pulley and tension rollers for the return guide of the endless cable. The advancement cable can;
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
depending on local circumstances, turn in a vertical plane on one side or the other of the tunnel transport vehicle, it can also be arranged in a horizontal plane, so that a section runs to the right, the other to the left of the gallery transporter.
When the transport vehicle used in the gallery is a chain conveyor, the course of the advancement cable. itself should not be reversed. For the backward path which must be done quickly (fast travel), either the chopper is detached from the feed cable and it is attached to the moving transport chain, or, when this is not possible, a second clamping system is fitted to the shearer for the return end of the feed cable, something for which it is good that it is provided in the transmission coupling, between the transport vehicle and the drum of the capstan, a gearshift coupling, If the direction of travel of the cable is reversed,
the arrangement of a second clamping system with grips was not necessary,
It is already known to arrange the winch system of a haver machine on a frame and to place it in the upper bay, separately from the latter. It is also known to pull the movable backfill device from the bottom up, in the gutter of a disc conveyor with the capstan, designed to bring in the chain of the disc conveyor, which is connected by a coupling. disengaging mechanism to the chain drive machine. In this device, no endless advancement cable is used. Rather, a special remote control device is needed in the form of a traction cable installed next to the conveyor.
Such additional devices are superfluous in the advancement device according to the invention.
The drawing shows two embodiments of an advancing device for a haver machine according to the invention and in fact: -. Figure 1 is a plan of the first exemplary embodiment; - Figure 2 is a side view of a second exemplary embodiment; - Figure 3 shows on a larger scale the clamping system.
1 designates the chain conveyor running in the gallery, on which the haber machine 2 can be moved along the coal front 3.
The drive motor 4 of the chain conveyor is located in the lower transport bay 5 and the return 6 in the head bay 7. To the shaft 8 of the return wheels is connected by a chain transmission 10 the gear of the capstan drum 9.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the shaft of the capstan drum is arranged vertically, as is the shaft of the return plate 12 at the other end of the gallery, over which the avm cable runs. - Endless cement 11 mounted by making several turns on the capstan drum, Guide rollers 13 serving to guide the advance cable along the chain conveyor of the gallery.
In the embodiment according to Figure 2, the endless feed cable 14 moves in a vertical plane. The two strands are located one above the other on the same side of the conveyor. Consequently, the capstan is mounted on a horizontal shaft 16. The guide rollers 13 here serve to keep the course of the cable down.
The haver machine 2 is provided on the side where the feed cable runs in the cutting direction, with a jaw locking system that can be engaged by hand. This can, depending on the circumstances of the felling, be fixed to one side of the machine or the other, without, by the lateral arrangement, an enlargement of the frame of the machine becoming necessary,
The clamping jaw blocking system shown in Figure 3 consists of a jaw 17 permanently connected to the shear casing, two clamping levers 18 and 20, with two counter jaws hinged to them. 19 and 21. The upper ends of the clamping levers are connected in articulation, by means of a traction flange and articulations 22

and 23,
to a lever with two branches 24, to the pivot point 25 of which is attached a threaded rod 28 which can be moved by means of the handwheel 26 with nut 27. The handwheel bears against stop valve 29 firmly connected to the fixed jaw 17, and is used, by means of the linkage with levers that it actuates, and of the clamping jaws, to couple or decouple the slobber machine and the feed cable.,
