PROCEDE DE PREPARATION DE'NOUVEAUX COMPOSES D'AMONIUM
QUATERNAIRES 0-
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

EMI2.6
sur une amine de formule :
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
EMI3.1
ou un composé de formule :
EMI3.2
sur une amine de formule :
EMI3.3

According to the present invention, the quaternary ammonium compounds defined above are obtained by treating the azalkane diamines of formula:

or the corresponding partially quaternized derivatives, with quaternizing agents, make it possible to introduce an alkyl or alkylene radical having 1 - 3 carbon atoms. As quaternizing agent, it is possible to employ, for example, alkyl or alkylenyl halides such as methyl chloride, bromide or iodide, then dialkyl sulphates, for example dimethyl sulphate or sulphate. of diethyl, or on the other hand the alkyl- or arylsulfonic esters such as the methyl ester of p-toluenesulfonic acid. This reaction is advantageously carried out in the presence of solvents such as alcohol or acetone.
Surprisingly, the amines defined above can be quater- nized by degrees, the quaternization stopping after saturation of two of the nitrogen atoms when operating under moderate conditions. The diquaternary compound thus formed can be transformed into a triquaternary compound by more vigorous treatment.
Another procedure of the process of the present invention consists in reacting the reactable esters of corresponding hydroxyalkyl compounds containing nitrogen with the amines to obtain the desired end product. We can therefore react a quaternary compound of formula:
EMI2.6
on an amine of formula:

or a compound of formula:

on an amine of formula:

In these formulas R1- R8 'A and B, have the same meaning as indicated above and E represents an esterified hydroxyl group, for example a halogen atom or the radical of a sulfonic acid such as ethane acid - or toluenesulfonic. The reaction will also be carried out here preferably in the presence of a solvent such as alcohol.
The initial products defined above can be obtained by processes analogous to known processes for the preparation of alkylated amines
The products in accordance with those obtained with the aid of the present invention are not protected by the present patent in themselves, as they are used in human therapy.
The following examples illustrate the present invention without however limiting it. Unless otherwise stated, the amounts given are by weight.
