<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

New process for manufacturing tubular products by centrifugal casting and products thus obtained.
In the known centrifugal casting process, molten metal is poured directly into a rotating mold. However, the outer surface of the tubular products, tubes, etc., thus obtained generally has a surface oxide layer, which makes it necessary to provide a certain tolerance, intended to be removed by subsequent finishing.
The method forming the subject of the present invention tends to eliminate this drawback and consequently to obtain tubular products which do not require any machining. This result is achieved, according to the invention, by introducing into the mold a cylindrical jacket of small thickness, having the final diameter on the outside. In this
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
jacket, metal or metal alloy, is cast by centrifugation, in a known manner, a metal or a metal alloy, the nature and composition of which depends on the envisaged application *
This jacket may be formed by a tube of desired length, or by a curved sheet; its diameter may for example vary between 0.5 and 3mm.
All metals can be used both for the jacket and for the casting metal; zinc, copper, tin, etc., as well as the alloys of these metals: brass, bronze, etc.
The metal or alloy of the liner may differ from the metal or the casting alloy. Thus, in particular, brass will advantageously be used for the jacket and anti-friction bronze for the casting metal.
The jacket being introduced into the mold so as to be applied exactly against its internal surface, the chosen metal or alloy is poured, which, in the form of a jet, lines the internal wall of the jacket in the desired thickness, while that it turns with the mold.
On demolding, a single piece is thus obtained, in which the metal of the jacket has effectively integrated into the casting metal and of which the outside diameter is exactly that of the finished tubing. The outer surface of the jacket shows no oxidation or irregularity, since it has not been subjected to the action of the most oxidized part of the casting metal, so impurities are also encompassed under the jacket.
As a new product, the invention also covers all the products obtained using the process which has just been described.
It goes without saying that one can bring to the execution of this process and to the resulting products all the

these which the known technique makes available to practitioners, without departing from the scope of the invention.
