<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
. Le schéma de la figure 1 illustre le cycle des mouvements caractérisant la dispositif de l'invention quelle qu'en soit la matérialisation. Le distributeur A est rendu mobi- le et, à cette fin, par exemple, monté sur galets. Il porte l'em- bouchure de compression et d'évacuation B ; la distance H entre l'embouchure B et le transporteur C est ramenée à h variable au prorata des articles fabriqués; l'embouchure B(respec tivenient le chariot ±) est déplacée généralement dans le sens du transporteur C à une vitesse égale ou différente de la sienne ;

<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

"Automatic feeding device for installation of biscuits and the like".
The object of the invention is a device capable of discharging at a variable rate, on a conveyor with continuous but also adjustable movement, small masses of flaking material respectively dough in a biscuit installation.
The aim of the invention, in addition to ensuring continuous production, and therefore at high throughput, is to introduce into such an automatic installation an additional means of checking and adjusting the shape of the tube. article manufactured, in particular by varying the linear speed ratio respectively between the dough distributor and the underlying movable support. This ratio can be equal to the unit in which case the relative speed is zero.
It can also, at will, be greater or less than the unit and if one takes into account that this ratio can vary quantitatively between the mechanical limits of the installation,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
we understand that we have a new and particularly appreciable industrial means in the field of biscuits.
Essentially, the device, object of the invention, comprises in combination at least one paste dispenser made mobile and a combined mechanism allowing the continuous repetition of the cycle of the following operations: 1) approaching the mouthpiece of the dispenser and the mobile conveyor, 2) simultaneously, discharge of a portion of dough and movement of the dispenser, 3) spreading of the dough dispenser, and of the mobile conveyor, 4) return of the dispenser and, at the same time, cocking set for a next dough discharge.
Preferably, the dispenser will be of the vacuum type so that the mechanism will be conditioned to achieve, at the end of the operation for evaluating a portion of dough, a sudden separation of the dispenser and the mobile conveyor.
This separation can result from a rapid raising of the distributor or at least from the mouth of the latter or from a rapid lowering of the corresponding part of the mobile conveyor or, finally, from a simultaneous movement. , but in the opposite direction, respectively of the transporter and of the distributor. preferably .also, the sare mechanism formed by a triple kinematic combination controlled from the same motor axis and forming a means of controlling the dough ejector organs,
a motor means causing the regulated movements of the distributor in proportion to the speed of the conveyor and the desired results and, finally, a means acting either on the distributor, or on the conveyor, or on both -: end of operating the appropriate bringing together and spacing these three means being coordinated to ensure a continuous repetition of the complete cycle according to the described process.
We can obviously apply this new concept in many different ways depending on the size of the flow, the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
kind of manufacture and the degree of automaticity and control and adjustment desired so that the device of the invention can easily be adapted to any technical and industrial application to which it relates.
However, for explanatory purposes only, without any limiting scope for the development of the invention, two embodiments are described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a diagram of the operating cycle of the device of the invention; FIGS. 2 and 3 are two schematic views of two characteristic positions of the device of the invention in which the means for bringing together and separating the distributor and the conveyor act on the first; FIG. 4 is a schematic view of the device of the invention in which the means for bringing the distributor and the conveyor closer together and apart acts on the second.
. The diagram of FIG. 1 illustrates the cycle of movements characterizing the device of the invention, whatever the materialization. The distributor A is made mobile and, for this purpose, for example, mounted on rollers. It carries the compression and evacuation mouth B; the distance H between the mouth B and the conveyor C is reduced to variable h in proportion to the articles manufactured; the mouth B (respec tivenient the carriage ±) is moved generally in the direction of the conveyor C at a speed equal to or different from its own;
the distance h is rapidly increased to the distance H and the distributor returns to its starting position ... during the first displacement of the distributor A, the ejector members have operated and during its retouch, said members have been armed for the next ejection.
According to the execution of Figures 2 and 3, for example, these ordered movements are carried out as follows:
The distributor A comprises, among other things, a balance 1, one end of which carries a pawl 2 capable of driving

to train in its movements 8, Xi'ux, the mouth..32. of said distributor.
The functioning and coordination of the various mechanisms is understood as follows:
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Figure 2 assumes that the machine is ready to start work: it is therefore at the start. The canes turn together in the direction of the arrow f. Immediately, the boss of the cam 30 disappears, the rod 31 descends rapidly causing the lowering of the distributor A and the approach to the desired distance, pre-set, of the mouth 32 and the conveyor. C. During this movement, the cana 17 has started to push back the balance 15 and to pull on the balance 25. The first rotates the various components in the direction of the arrows (figure 2) thus causing the translation of the rack 2.
.to the right and, in the same direction, the end of the axle 6 and the bushing 4. The corresponding end of the balance 1 is moved followed by an equivalent movement of the ratchet 2, which turns the wheel ..3 of an amplitude directly proportional to the linear displacement of the rack 7.
The driving cam 17, in the case considered, is heart-shaped, so as to finally communicate to the distributor uniform translational, outward and return movements.
In this way, the dispenser, while moving in the motionless of the conveyor, can be stationary relative to the latter, and the dispensed paste will retain the desirable shape.
This paste will be elongated in the event of relative sliding of the conveyor belt and of the distributor, but unevenly deformed if the considered translation of the distributor is not uniform.
The flow rate of the distributor therefore depends on the relative movement of the two racks 7 and 19 and the linear displacement of these racks is easily regulated by the displacement, in the correct direction, of the corresponding racks 14 and 2 ±. The movement of the ratchet 3 is therefore positively controlled during the revolution of the driving cam 17 by 180. During the same time, the opposite balance 25 rotated the components that it commanded in the direction of the arrows indicated (FIG. 2) and the rack moved to the left, therefore in opposition to the rack 7.
It therefore drives, via the end of the shaft 18, the distributor in a new
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
uniform translation direction directed in the same direction as the direction of continuous movement of the conveyor C. The speed of movement ci .;) the rack 19 - therefore also of the distributor A - - depends on the position of the rack 24 this position is easily adjustable, so that this speed can be made equal to, lower or higher than that of said conveyor belt C.
When the two cemes have simultaneously rotated by 180, we have therefore obtained that, during the movement of the distribution

striker A., in the 11th direction and at a speed equal to or different from that of the transporter, he evacuated a portion of the quai- tit.tivet'nt and morphologically predetermined. At this moment, the cam ¯0 acts violently on the, tiop Jl en lq, pushing back sharply towards the ha., Ut by the action of its bossai p.r:. Particular.
The mouth 32 moves away almost instantaneously from the conveyor C to which the portion of pête which has just been coiled is applied. This creates a vacuum effect known per se, which results in the clean separation of said portion from the distribution.

Simultaneously, the, rack 19,

The cam is obviously oriented accordingly, in such a way that instead of lowering and raising the distributor A
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
as indicated in the preceding example, it is the conveyor which, respectively, is raised and lowered, in order to ensure the abrupt approach and separation with respect to the distributor.
It goes without saying that this device is applicable to any fractional distribution of a qualcum pitiful material, whatever the shape and dimensions of the articles manufactured. also, the separation of the portions of dough evacuated from the dispenser may result from other means than an instantaneous local depression, for example, said portions could be cut, torn off, scraped, etc. without departing, for this, from the scope of the invention. Any other mechanical, electro-mechanical or other members can also be substituted for the mechanical members described, provided that they fulfill a function equivalent to that described.
The device of the invention and, respectively, the installation which it equips, are obviously supplemented by all the usual accessories in the technique of continuous furnaces and, moreover, in the construction of apparatus in general.
It is, moreover, possible to use the device of the invention as a staticpe machine, in which case the conveyor would move "step by step". The device can also move in both directions and a host of different shapes of articles can be obtained from the same mouth by varying the relative speed thereof, with respect to the conveyor belt. Also, the mouth can have one or more outlet orifices with extremely variable profiles, so that the device of the invention really has a universal character in this field.
