DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY filed in support of a request for B R E V E T D'INVENTION Jacques, Charles VAN PEYSSCHOOT, Electric heating body and its manufacturing process "
The present invention relates to an electric heating body comprising a metal plate in contact with a coating mass in which heating conductors are housed.
Its aim is to avoid heat losses through the internal face of the heating body, that is to say on the side where the coating mass is located while constituting a heat flywheel.
For this purpose, according to the present invention there is provided a. heat-insulating and refractory plate extending over at least part of the internal face of the heating body and in intimate contact with this face * '
In order to avoid excessive heating of the central part of the heating body, in an advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, a recess is provided in the center of the aforesaid metal plate, on its internal face, the mass of the coating and the heating conductors being distributed around this recess. This is preferably filled with heat-insulating and refractory material integral with the aforesaid heat-insulating plate.
A further subject of the present invention is a process for manufacturing heating bodies which makes it possible to obtain the results indicated above.
For this purpose, the heating conductors are coated in an electrically insulating mass, then a heat-insulating and refractory material is poured onto the coating mass.
Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description, given below by way of non-limiting example and with reference to the appended drawing, of a particular embodiment of an electric heating body follow. 1 invention.
The fi gure - is a sectional and elevation view.
The heating body shown comprises a circular plate 1 made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy in contact with a coating mass in which are housed heating conductors 3 fans.
The use of aluminum allows rapid heating; but to avoid an exaggerated central heating, which would have the effect of burning the food which one would like to cook on the heating body, there is provided in, the plate 1, a central recess 4, the diameter of which can reach approximately 60 mm .
A foundry crown 5 with the plate extends to the edge of the recess on the internal face of the plate.
In addition, a cylindrical projection 6 extends the plate 1 on its internal face% - The coating mass 2 and the conductors- 3 are distributed around the recess 4 between the ring 5 and the. projection 6 * There is therefore no central heating means.
In addition, to avoid heat loss through the internal faoe

bage and carrying a projection 8 which fills the e'7ideent 4. From grooves 9 are formed in the projection 6 and receive
EMI2.2
corresponding projections 10 of the coating mass and of the plate #. This allows these last two elements to be properly anchored. A threaded rod 11e enables the heating body to be mounted in the usual manner on an ordinary support for an electric stove.
As the coating mass, a material is used which is both a good conductor of heat and an electrically insulating material, such as that sold under the name "Ré sistel".
Plate 7 is made of a heat-resistant and refractory material.

Once these are in place, a second layer 14 of coating material is poured, which penetrates into the grooves and between the turns.

conductors, so as to remove any air occlusion.
A layer of refractory and heat-insulating material is then poured over the coating material and in the recess, so as to bind the plate 7 and the projection 8
The heating horn described is only one particular embodiment of the object of the invention * Various constructive modifications could be made to it without departing from the scope

of the pre slope request. It would be possible, in particular, to provide a heat-insulating and refractory surface over the entire internal face of the heating body, or over a part thereof, the central recess.
