La présente invention concerne un dispositif de freinage, notamment pour traineaux à moteur, et consiste en ce que le dispositif d'orientation des surfaces de glissement, au moyen duquel ces surfaces, placées parallèlement, peuvent subir des pivotements tout en conservant leur parallélisme, est constitué de telle manière que ce parallélisme puisse se transformer en convergence ou en divergence. 



   Ce résultat est atteint, conformément à l'invention, du fait que les tiges reliant le bras actionné par le volant, ou autre organe de commande de direction, aux bras produisant le pivotement des surfaces de glissement, sont articulées à une traverse spéciale, qui est ellemême montée pivotante sur le bras de direction de manière telle que, par sa rotation, les deux tiges se trouvent mues l'une par rapport à l'autre sans que le bras de direction se déplace, ce qui a pour effet d'amener les surfaces-de glissement   danune   position relative convergente ou divergente. 



   Le dessin annexé représente, schématiquement, un exemple de réalisation de l'objet de l'invention; la figure unique est une vue en plan.

   Les surfaces de glissement ou patina 1 sont, pendant la marche, disposée parallèlement   l'un à   l'autre. Des bras 3, fixée sur des axes 2, servent à opérer les changements de direction par rotation des patina 1, qui cependant restent encore parallèles entre eux.
