<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
115mm.

Small-footprint electric machine, more particularly a motor for dry shaving devices.
The present invention relates to an electric machine for. hand-held appliances, more particularly a motor for dry shaving machines and the like, and is characterized by at least two stator windings located one behind the other and having pole-shaped cores. U, whose non-wound branches extend in the direction of the axis of the rotor.
In electric machines with a small footprint, and more particularly in machines of easy handling such as dry shaving devices, referred to above as hand devices, the problem arises, in the case of two or more windings,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
to know how to house the windings in the machine while respecting the condition that the diameter of the apparatus is as small as possible for a given power and, therefore, for a given diameter of the rotor.
The present invention provides a particularly advantageous solution, because it makes it possible to associate a diameter of the apparatus as small as possible with a diameter as large as possible of the rotor. In practice, the length of the apparatus increased at the expense of the diameter does not constitute a drawback, since it does not or substantially not exceed the longitudinal dimensions of such hand-held devices.
The invention allows more particularly the practical use of a motor-capacitor for the aforementioned use, a motor which, as we know, comprises a winding directly connected to the network and a winding which is connected to it by means of a capacitor to obtain the necessary rotating field. With regard to the motors used hitherto comprising a wound rotor and a brushed commutator, the motor-capacitor presents the known advantages of great simplicity, great operating safety and easy maintenance.
This motor has never been used for the aforementioned uses, because the minimum power required implies a sufficiently large diameter of the rotating squirrel cage frame, so that the aforementioned condition cannot be sufficiently satisfied. easy handling. The present invention avoids this drawback, which makes it possible to take advantage of all the aforementioned advantages of the motor-capacitor.
According to another particularity of the invention, the wound parts of the yoke of the pole cores are offset from one another in the direction of the periphery of the rotor by the same angle as the non-wound branches, which makes it possible to use pole cores. U-shaped dishes, as will be explained in more detail below.
In one embodiment of the invention the windings @
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
have the shape of cubes having substantially the volume marl so as to reduce to a minimum the length of the apparatus for the given diameter.
The description of the appended drawing, given by way of non-limiting example, will make it clear how the invention can be implemented, the particularities which emerge both from the text and from the drawing being of course part of the invention.
The single figure represents an embodiment of a construction according to the invention, in this case part of a circuit of the stator of a motor-capacitor for controlling a dry razor.
The construction comprises two stator windings 2 and 3 which have U-shaped pole cores 4 and 5 and are located one behind the other in the direction of the axis 1 of the rotor, the cores of which Uncoiled branches 6, 7 and 8, 9, respectively, extend in the direction of the axis 1 of the rotor. Thanks to this arrangement, the diameter of the frame of the machine, which comprises the branches 6 to 9, can be reduced as much as possible with respect to the minimum necessary diameter of the rotor 10. In general, there remains a sufficient space to receive between the frame and the branches 6 to 9 the motor condenser, coiled to form a thin-walled cylinder.
The rotor is of the normal type of the squirrel-cage frame and for a favorable distribution of the field the branches 6 to 9 can generally be fitted with pole pieces which do not appear on the drawing and can be joined together, for example, by a closed ring.
The coiled parts of the yoke of the U-shaped pole cores 4 and 5 are offset from each other in the direction of the circumference of the rotor by an angle, namely 90, that the non-coiled legs 6, 7 and 8, 9 so that, as shown in the drawing, flat U-shaped cores can be used, this angle being a function of the number of windings to be used. For a rotating field
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Three-phase one could in principle use three windings of which the three wound yokes form at each moment an angle of 60.
By giving the windings the shape of cubes having the same volume, we obtain an assembly as compact as possible and a low motor length.
In a practical model of a motor-capacitor for a dry razor the power required was 2.5 wstts, and a rotor diameter of 18 mm and an outside diameter of the frame of the hand-held device could be achieved. 43 mm, the whole razor including the cutting head having a length of
115mm.
