Boite à conserves.
L'invention a pour objet une botte métallique convenant pour la cuisson d'aliments et de boissons, qui demeure étanche au cours de la cuisson et qui peut être fabriquée avec de petites quantités d'étain ou sans étain du tout.
La boîte métallique conforme à l'invention, d'aspect usuel, est faite en tôle de fer qui à l'extérieur est zinguée galvaniquement et, le cas échéant, vernie jusqu'aux bords brasés ou soudés et qui à l'intérieur est revêtue de vernis en une seule ou en plusieurs couches, le joint longitudinal de la virole de la boite étant brasé, soudé ou agrafé avec insertion d'une garniture d'étanchéité élastique, tandis que le

fond et le couvercle sont reliés à la virole par un joint à agrafage circulaire de forme connue, avec emploi d'une garniture d'étanchéité.
Après avoir produit le joint longitudinal, on peut encore l'enduire à l'intérieur, à l'extérieur ou à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur, d'un trait de revêtement protecteur, ou bien revêtir encore complètement la boite de vernis à l'intérieur, à l'extérieur ou à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur.
Le dessin annexé représente un exemple d'exécution de la boîte à conserves conforme à l'invention.
La virole a est faite en tôle de fer b qui comporte du côté extérieur un zingage galvanique c. A l'intérieur la virole est revêtue d'une ou deux couches de vernis d.
Le joint longitudinal e qui maintient fermée sur elle-même la tôle de la virole b, c, d peut être constitué par un joint à recouvrement brasé, comme représenté sur la fig. 2, par un joint à recouvrement soudé, comme représenté sur la fig. 3 ou par un joint soudé debout et rabattu, comme représenté sur la fig. 4.
Le joint longitudinal de la virole de la boite peut aussi être formé par agrafage avec insertion d'une garniture d'étanchéité élastique. Un tel joint à agrafage peut être constitué par un agrafage en crochet, comme représenté sur la fig. 5, ou par un joint à agrafage sextuple, comme représenté sur la fig. 6, une garniture d'étanchéité f y étant insérée dans l'un et l'autre cas. Tant le joint à agrafage en crochet de la fig. 5 que le joint à agrafage sextuple de la fig. 6 doivent être fortement comprimés de manière appropriée pour assurer que le joint demeure étanche au cours de la cuisson.
Le joint à agrafage circulaire usuel par lequel le fond et le couvercle sont reliés à la virole de la boîte est représenté sur la fig. 1 dans une coupe transversale du

bord de la botte.
Du côté intérieur, du côté extérieur ou du côté intérieur et du côté extérieur, les joints longitudinaux de la virole de la boîte peuvent être enduits d'un trait de vernis protecteur g, comme le montre par exemple la fig. 4.

1.- Boite métallique demeurant étanche à la cuisson et convenant pour la cuisson.d'aliments'et de boissons, constituée de tôle de fer qui à l'extérieur est zinguée galvaniquement et, le cas échéant, vernie jusqu'aux bords brasés ou soudés et qui à l'intérieur est revêtue de vernis en une seule ou en plusieurs couches, le joint longitudinal de la virole de la botte étant brasé ou soudé à recouvrement ou soudé debout ou agrafé avec insertion d'une garniture d'étanchéité élastique, tandis que le fond et le couvercle sont reliés à la virole par un joint à agrafage circulaire de forme connue, avec emploi d'une garniture d'étanchéité.
