Appareil d'éclairage .
------------------------
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Lighting fixture.
------------------------
The object of the present invention is to combine an electric bulb with at least two reflectors connected together and come in galatith, bakelite, but preferably in stainless light metal, aluminum or derivatives, and the like, making it possible to direct the rays by means of the double reflector.
According to the present invention, the reflectors are integral with the electric lamp and are separated therefrom only by asbestos cords, in such a way that an insulating air mattress is formed between these reflectors and the bulb.
The opaque reflectors are designed in such a way as to allow the rays to be concentrated more strongly in two light beams, preventing the light from being widely scattered.
It is thus possible, according to the invention, to concentrate, on the work surface, an intense light by the part of the reflector extending from the base to half of the bulb, and to obtain a well-distributed illumination on said work surface, by the effect of the second more flared reflector, which extends from the first part to past the bottom of the bulb.
By changing the shape of the diffusers, this results in
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
that it is possible to easily obtain extensive (wide light beam), intensive (medium light beam), concentrated or diffused lighting.
This lighting apparatus also finds its application for the occultation of the electric light. For such use, it suffices to coat the bulb and the lower reflector with a suitable blue varnish, for outdoor use; for use inside premises (apartments, workshops, stores, and similar places), the central part of the bulb is translucent so as to allow a light beam to pass giving a natural yellowish circle on the illuminated surface, surrounded by a blue crown, making the central light beam invisible from a distance.
In the accompanying drawing are shown, by way of example, two embodiments of the present invention.
Fig.l shows a lighting apparatus according to the present invention, aveo reflector partially in section.
Fig. 2 gives a luminaire for intense light directed vertically downwards.
According to one embodiment, shown in fig.l, an electric lamp consisting mainly of a glass bulb 1 and a base 2 receives, by crimping, a double reflector 3-31.
The reflector 3 mounted by crimping on the glass bulb 1 is separated therefrom only by one or two asbestos cords 4-41, so as to isolate the reflector from the bulb.
Starting from the base 2, the reflector 3, up to almost half of the bulb 1, roughly matches the shape of the said bulb to then flare out in parabolic form until past the bottom of the bulb, thus forming the second reflector 31.
The shape of the diffuser as shown in fig.l allows extensive lighting (wide light beam) on the worktop, while giving illumination well distributed around the said plane -
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
by the flared part of the diffuser.
To black out the lights, good exterior lighting is obtained by applying an appropriate blue varnish to the bulb and the flared part of the reflector; likewise, for the lighting of premises, an excellent result is obtained by making the central part of the translucent bulb transparent so as to allow a light beam 7 to pass through, giving a natural yellowish circle which, surrounded by a blue crown 8, is invisible from outside buildings
Eventually, this bulb could have come in blue glass, discolored in the center, for indoor use.
Because the upper reflector 3 is formed by an opaque, polished or reflecting body, all the light given by the lamp at this location is reflected from the bottom and is reinforced and judiciously distributed by the second reflector 31, so that, even by using a blue bulb, a great density of light is obtained, invisible from a distance.
In fig. 2, a lighting apparatus is shown by which the rays of the light beam are directed in parallel.
The reflector 3 is mounted by crimping on the bulb 1 while ensuring by the interposition of asbestos cords 4-41, an air mattress between said reflector and the bulb.
The reflector 3 follows from the base 3 approximately the shape of the bulb to end at the lower part of the latter with a cylindrical part 31 so as to obtain lighting with intensive distribution, concentrating, with channeled light rays.
In some cases, it may be advantageous to simply cement a tubular-shaped capsule to the lower part of the ampoule and to apply an opaque color to the upper part of the ampoule after having previously applied a medium layer. metallic or other reflective, in order to increase the efficiency of the lamp.
For the blackout of lights, suitable lighting can
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
be obtained either by applying a blue varnish in the cylindrical part of the reflector or the capsule as well as on the part of the bulb corresponding to the said cylindrical part, or by combining blue rays with yellow so as to form a natural yellow disc in the center, surrounded by a bluish crown, preventing direct light to be seen at a distance.
Following fig. 2, a disc µ¯ is shown in dotted lines having several glasses 6 of different colors, so that this lamp finds its use in many industries, such as for example photography, by making it possible to change the color. - their rays emitted. At the same place, one could apply an iris diaphragm device or the like, making it possible to obtain any opening of the light beam.
It goes without saying that the idea behind the present invention can find many other practical embodiments which can present themselves under the most different aspects depending on whether they are to fulfill only a utilitarian purpose or at the same time serve decorative purposes. , artistic and others.
