L'invention présente a pour but d'obvier à cet inconvé- nient.

Rocket for free-fall bombs.
It is known that with a loose bomb rocket placed at the end of the bomb and provided with a long time delay mechanism, it can often happen that the bomb does not explode. This possibility is especially great, when the tip of the rocket does not strike a hard object, such as a stone, a sheet of armor, etc. , and if the blow with the rocket comes a little obliquely. Admittedly, the organs of the fulminating mechanism are thrown forward in a position of tension, but a backlash sufficient for the piercer to ignite the starter capsule, is however often lacking, because the part in front of the fulminating needle , where the needle slips, may have been deformed by the shock.
The object of the present invention is to obviate this drawback. This is achieved by a thundering needle composed of two moving parts, placed one inside the other, the inner part of which is composed of a perouter support, actuated by a spring seeking to push the support of the

striker towards the capsule, while the outer part is surrounded by a movable sleeve which, when the bomb hits the target, is thrown down by its live force into a hollow space of the bomb, where in addition a stop member is placed in the outer part, passing through said part. When the bomb drops, this safety member encroaches on the interior part by resting on the socket.
On impact of the bomb against the goal, the sleeve protruding from the stopper, said stopper is automatically withdrawn from the connection of the inner part by the pressure of the spring against the stopper. .
Details of the rocket, according to the invention, emerge from the accompanying drawing, showing a longitudinal section of one embodiment of the rocket. according to the drawing, the fuse is provided with known centrifugal bolts 1. The fulminating needle is hollow in its upper part, facing the detonator 3. A firing pin support 4 partly in the shape of a socket is placed in this hollow. In this sleeve-shaped part is mounted a spring 5 between the end of the support 4, facing the starter capsule and the hollow bottom 2a of the needle 2. To keep the support of the striker 4 in its place independently of the The influence of the spring 5, said spring is provided with a stop device. To this end, the firing pin support 1 is provided with one or more circular grooves of suitable shape.
In holes drilled at a corresponding place in the wall of the hollow of part 2 of the needle are placed two or more steel balls 6 or other suitable stop members, the major part of which is in the holes. of the wall of part 2 of the needle and only a small part opens into the grooves of the firing pin support 4, To prevent the balls 6 from coming out of their holes, thus releasing the firing pin support 4, the part 2 of the

The sleeve is surrounded by a stop sleeve 7, the end of which facing the defector holds the striker away from the detonator when the bomb is put to rest.
The stop sleeve 7 is brought into a safe state together with the part 2 of the needle by the centrifugal bolts 1. The free-fall bomb, shown in the drawing, can be set so as to explode immediately after firing. shock.
In order for the fulminating device to act with a delay, before using the bomb, a socket designated in the drawing and fixed under the outer part of the needle is removed. Thus a retardation of the inflammation is produced in a known manner.
The rocket works as follows: During the drop of the bomb, which at the same time performs a rotational movement around its longitudinal axis, the bolts release by Inaction of the centrifugal force the part of the needle, thus the stop sleeve 7. However, this capsule does not slide down towards the tip of the rocket, although there is space in position 8, because the pressure of the balls 6 outwards. prevents the stop sleeve 7 from moving. A spring 9 for its part prevents the part of the needle from sliding down towards the point.
When the tip of the rocket hits an object full or sideways all the moving parts are pushed down, so also the part a of the needle and the stop sleeve 7. So these two parts mount the spring 9 The components remain in this position for the duration of the braking of the fall of the bomb. As soon as the slowing down is over, the needle rebounds with all its parts, except the stop sleeve '7 which protrudes by its living force, when the bomb hits the target, the stop parts 6¯ and does not keeps more in contact with other parts, whereupon the percussion

tor hits the capsule of the detonator which it ignites.
If the blow does not hit the tip, but the side of the rocket body, for example at point 10, being however strong enough, it deforms the wall of the opening 8. As a result, the needle 2, which, however, has slipped down and has fitted the spring 9 there, cannot jump up and ignite the primer. However, during the delay of the bomb, the stop sleeve 7 slid down, where it released the stop balls 6. As soon as the delay caused by the fall ceased, the spring 5 rejects the holder. 4 and the striker at the top, thus igniting the primer. This therefore takes place independently of the deformation mentioned above, where part 2 of the needle is prevented from moving by itself towards the primer.
