DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY filed in support of an application for a TWENTY-YEAR PATENT OF INVENTION "CENTRAL FIREPLACE COOKING APPLIANCE FOR GASEOUS FUELS"
The present invention relates to kitchen stoves heated by all gaseous fuels, comprising a hearth placed at the level of the ceiling of the oven in its central part, this hearth with heat storage allowing only the heating of the top of the oven. furnace, or simultaneously, heating the furnace by direct radiation from the ceiling and by circulation of the burnt gases around the walls, as well as the top of the furnace.
An example of application is described below, with reference to the single appended drawing, which indicates, in section, the

preferred furnace arrangement:
The body of the furnace 1 comprises an oven 2, a central hearth 3, a top 4 with firing plate and set of washers 5, flue gas evacuation ducts 6 and 13, with mobile register 14, mobile screens 7
The central fireplace 3 comprises:
a) A burner 8, metallic or of refractory material, for gaseous fuel, town gas or others, with a refractory ignition socket at the injector, of power determined by the dimensions of the furnace. b) A double-walled enclosure 9 of any shape, preferably circular, metallic or made of refractory material, partly ensuring, through carefully plaoées openings, the arrival of secondary air at high temperature necessary for combustion.
This air being drawn from the open air, preferably from the front of the furnace, by one or more suitable pipes 10. c) A base 11 of metal or of refractory material on which the burner 8 rests, the double-walled enclosure 9 , the refractory materials 12 intended to be brought to incandescence during combustion and forming a heat accumulator.
This base is pierced with openings intended to ensure:
1 - The free radiation of the hearth inside the oven.
2 - The additional secondary air necessary for combustion.
3 - Elimination of steam and smoke from cooking dishes placed in the oven.
4 - The support of refractory materials.
5 - The ventilation of the burner.
Burnt gases can escape directly without

heat the oven by opening the register 14. If this register is closed, the burnt gases pass around the walls of the furnace, heating the latter and escape through a duct 13, the circulation of the burnt gases being indicated by arrows.
Movable screens 7 placed under the hearth, by their operation, allow all or part of the radiation inside the oven to be eliminated.
Various variants can be made in the structure of the device represented by the drawing which is given simply as an example without limitation.
The present invention provides a considerable saving in fuel, since a single hearth ensures the heating of the whole furnace and allows the furnace to be heated by recovery of the burnt gases and by radiation.
The construction of the stove is thus more economical than that of existing stoves.
The material 12 which may be refractory or simply metallic accumulates the heat supplied by the burner while ensuring the protection thereof.
