BREVET D'INVENTION.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

PATENT.
IMPROVEMENTS TO CONTAINER CLOSING DEVICES.
The present invention relates to closure devices for containers. such as metal boxes intended to contain polishes, fats, * polishes, without however being limited to this special application.
The aim of the invention is to provide a simple and effective method of closing, allowing both a sufficiently tight closing and a rapid opening without the use of special means such as stuffing, etc.
According to the invention, the container, box or the like is made up of two parts, the container with the boot proper and the cover, one of these two parts being provided with inclined projections extending over a fraction of the length. 'other part having lugs which engage behind the projections in the closed position of the box and which produce an energetic clamping of the two parts between them by a slight relative rotation in the opposite direction of one of the parts with respect to the other.
Said projections and lugs are preferably formed by stamping in the case of a metal boot.

The inclined protrusions are preferably of a helical shape with a relatively small pitch.
A circumferential projection, parallel to the bottom, may be provided on the part provided with the projections and behind it, in order to prevent the part provided with the pins from sinking too far. Of course, this circumferential projection could be arranged in a suitable manner on the part provided with lugs.
The upper edge of the part forming the boot proper can be curved inwards, possibly with a bead, and come to rest against a similar rounding formed in the periphery of the cover to ensure the seal.
One of the two parts, or both, can be knurled to facilitate the grip in the hand for the opening of the box,
The lugs can be tilted in. the same direction as the helical protrusions. These lugs may simply consist of points or have a certain extent, which will give a greater contact range.
In the accompanying drawings which show by way of example one embodiment of the present invention: a, is the boot itself, b is the cover.
Are inclined projections c planned? on the outer rim of the box and lugs are provided on the inner rim of the cover. When the cover b is applied to the boot a, the lugs d, below the protrusions a, are brought up and one of the two parts is given a slight turn so that the lugs come out. go further behind the protrusions, The circumferential protrusion e provided on the box p prevents the cover b from sinking too far. The upper edge of the box a is curved, with a bead, as shown in f and this rim f comes to rest against a rounded g of the cover to ensure tightness,
