Julien LAMBIN ON. Servais POULET.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Julien LAMBIN ON. Servais CHICKEN. Nicolas MAKA @ the present invention relates to a canoe whose reduced weight and simple arrangement allow manual transport and use in the front line of combat or outpost in the same way as a machine gun or a machine gun, the great advantage of this weapon lies in the fact that all the movements (that is to say its transport, its setting in firing position, its firing speed) are almost as fast as those of a rifle.
The purpose of this weapon is to provide Infantry Companies and other combat mites with a machine that is immediately capable of direct fire with relatively powerful projectiles against a tank, car, machine gun nest, etc. .
The invention particularly provides for the use of the weapon up to. shells with a caliber of around 30 millimeters maj it goes without saying that larger calibers could also be used.
According to the invention, the weapon consists of a barrel with slide tube mounted with recoil spring on a frame
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
provided with feet intended to rest on the ground. ; The closure is effected by a bolt, of the Mauser rifle bolt type, provided with a double tenon engaging in a suitable groove in the barrel, the opening being obtained automatically during recoil by a ramp provided on the tube. slide integral with the frame and acting them a closing lever integral with the lock.
.The frame takes the shape of a butt and is provided with an articulation allowing the weapon to undergo vertical displacements; more the rear part of this stick is in two parts capable of being separated laterally from one another by pivoting about a double hinge.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the barrel is composed of two distinct parts capable of being assembled and separated quickly: on the one hand the barrel, the slide tube, the recuperator spring, the movable breech, the trigger system. and on the other hand the frame comprising the butt with its rear part in two articulated parts and foldable extended legs, the articulation system allowing height adjustment, the sliding sector system allowing lateral adjustment and two folding and articulated front legs, fitted with extensions.
The appended drawings show by way of nonlimiting example one embodiment of the invention. This extends to the various original features contained in the arrangement shown.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal view with partial section through a barrel according to the invention. fig. 2 is a top view of the weapon.
Fig.3 is a front view of the weapon.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The weapon consists of a barrel 2 barrel capable of being able to fire shells of small diameter, for example one inch.
The barrel is provided with a recoil unit 3 bearing against a recuperator spring 4: housed in a suitable box 5. : The barrel is closed by a bolt 6 similar to the Mauser rifle bolt and in which the closure is performed by a double tenon not shown engaging by rotation of a quarter turn in a groove made at the rear of the cannon. This lock 6 comprises in the usual way a striker 7 subjected to the action of a spring 8 and joined to a cocking plate 9.
This lock is capable of moving in a breech box extended by a tubs-slide 10 comprising an inclined faee 11 intended to cooperate with a lever 12 belonging to the lock. the firing pin is retained in its cocked position by a trigger 13 operated by an angled lever 14 which is connected by a cable 15 to a trigger 16. the assembly which has just been described is fixed by means of a bolt 17 serving as a lateral articulation axis on a stock in two parts 18 and 19.
These two parts are joined together by an articulation 20 which allows the butt to deform had the weapon move vertically. The rear part of this stick is as well as visible in FIG. 2, made in two parts connected to; a double joint 21.
These two parts, which can move apart and approach by rotation around the aforementioned joint, serve to ensure the stability of the weapon.
The stick thus described is further provided at the front with two extendable tarpaulin feet 22; these feet can be spread laterally and can also be folded down along the rifle to facilitate transport as shown
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
in fig.l for one of the feet, the two parts forming the rear of the butt are also provided with extendable and folding spade feet 23 and which can be folded down along the orosse.
The weapon is moved horizontally around the bolt 17 serving as an axis and by sliding along a slide 84 fixed to the butt.
The firing is adjusted as follows:
The weapon being in battery, the shooter unlocks the horizontal displacement of the weapon by operating the lateral lever 85 (see fig. 2) on which is wedged a part 26 (figure 1) forming a cam and acting to release two locking pins. 27.
The height movement is released by acting on a lateral lever 28 (see fig.S) which releases the joint 20 of the butt. the shooter then points the weapon using the adjustment screw 29 which has the effect of moving the rear part of the breech away from the butt or bringing it closer. This handle 29 is disposed at the end of an arm 30 also articulated around the double articulation 21; in this way the handle 29 can also be used for the lateral aiming of the weapon.
The aiming being carried out, the weapon is blocked in its firing position by operating the levers 25 and 28.
The operation during firing is as follows:
The weapon being armed (see fig.l) the shooter pulls on the trigger 16 which has the effect of causing the lowering of the trigger 13 by means of the rod 15 and the elbow lever 14. The lowering of the trigger determines the release of the arming plate 9 of the firing pin and ensures the start of the shot. Under the effect of recoil, gun 2 moves towards
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
the rear by compressing the recovery spring 4; during this time * the inclined face 11 of the rear slide tube acts on the handle 12 of the lock and caused a quarter turn of the latter so as to unlock the weapon; the barrel returns to its initial position under the effect of its spring while the breech remains behind the slide tube.
To rearm the weapon, a shell is introduced into the barrel chamber by manual pushing and closing of the breech.
The weapon is again ready to fire.
It should be noted that all firing and arming operations as well as battery setting can be carried out very quickly. the invention is not limited to the embodiment described by way of example but extends to any light gun which comes within the scope of one or the other of the following claims.
CLAIMS.
1. Light gun suitable in particular for infantry characterized in that it is constituted by a gun mounted with tube and recoil spring on a frame provided with feet intended to bear on the ground.
