"PROCEDE POUR LA FABRICATION DU CYLINDRE PORTE-BATTES OU
EMI1.1
pORT-DEidTS DÉS MACHINAS A BATTRE LES OREALS"
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF THE BATH-HOLDER CYLINDER OR
EMI1.1
PORT-DEidTS OF MACHINAS TO BEAT THE OREALS "
The present patent relates to a process for the manufacture of the threshing cylinder or the tine cylinder (or spindles) used in grain threshing machines.
The method envisaged in accordance with the present invention consists in assembling and fixing the constituent parts of this cylinder to each other in whole or in part, by welding instead of being wedged, bolted or riveted as is the practice. tick so far.
The object of the invention thus makes it possible to give more rigidity to the whole of the cylinder and to avoid the problems caused by the presence of solutions of continuity between the various constituent parts of these cylinders resulting from
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
loosening of nuts, or screws, elongations and or breakage of rivets or bolts, loss of shims etc ...
In order to bring out the above description more clearly, the appended drawings show:
Fig.I a longitudinal view of a cylinder of the bat holder type in which the counter blades are fixed by welding to the crosses, discs or flanges and to the reinforcing discs or circles.
@ Fig. 2 and 3 of the elevational views respectively of a cross. and a reinforcing circle of fig.1.
Fig.4 a longitudinal view of a tine cylinder (pins) in which the tine bars are fixed by welding to the crosses, discs or flanges and to the reinforcing discs or circles.
Figs. 5 and 6 are elevational views respectively of a cross member and of a reinforcing circle of fig.4.
Referring to the pins 1,2,3, the shaft 6 of cylinder 1 is welded at 3 to the crosspieces 4. and these to the counter-blades.
2 in 3 '. The reinforcement circles 5 are welded in 3 "to the counter blades 2.
It is obvious that if we want to keep cylinder 1 the possibility of dismantling the pin 6, the cross members 4 can be fixed to the pin 6 by screws, wedges, or any other suitable and suitable means responding to the intended goal.
In the example considered, the bats 7 are fixed to the counter-blades 2 per rivets. It is obvious that it is also possible to fix them by bolts, screws, and obviously by welding.
In the example shown in FIGS. 4,5,6, the cylinder 8 is of the tine-holder type, in which on the shaft 11 are welded at 3 the flanges or cross members 10 on which are welded at 3 '. the bars 9 carrying the teeth or pins 12. The reinforcing circle 13 is similarly welded in 3 "to the bars 9.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The teeth or pins 12 are fixed to the bars 9 by nuts but it is obvious that it is also possible to fix them by riveting, screws and obviously by welding.
It goes without saying that if we want to keep the cylinder 8 the possibility of dismantling the shaft II of the crosses 10, these last as previously indicated can be fixed to the shaft II by screws, wedges, or any other suitable means. and suitable for the intended purpose.
The drawings appended to this specification are provided for explanatory purposes only of two modes or cylinder constructions applicable to grain threshing machines.
Other types of cylinder can be manufactured by taking inspiration from and following the description of the process envisaged in the present patent.
In summary it is necessary to consider as also coming within the scope of the present patent, the industrial products (threshing cylinders or spindle carriers of cereal threshing machines) obtained according to the process which is the subject of this patent and which can be characterized by the following:
CLAIMS
