<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Fig. 8 est une vue de la clef.

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Safety lock.
In the known safety locks, almost without exception, springs are used to immobilize the fittings, which secure the bolt in its position. If the spring breaks the trim has no effect and the bolt can be pushed back without difficulty, which makes closing illusory.
The safety lock, according to the invention, comprises a mechanism and fittings without springs. The fittings of this lock can be very massive and invariably guided in their position.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The application of all transmission members and springs is unnecessary, which results in a considerable simplification of the construction of the safety lock.
In addition, the fixed mounting of a tooth cooperating with the gaskets has the effect of increasing safety and security.
By way of example of an embodiment of the invention, one embodiment is shown in the appended drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the lock, the bolt of which is pushed back.
Fig. 2 is a section view through 1-1 of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of the lock.
Fig. 4 being an elevational view, the bolt being FIG. 4 being a view in elevation, the bolt being pushed forward.
Fig. 5 is a plan view of an intermediate washer.
Fig. 6 is a plan view of a packing with its notch.
Fig. 7 is a plan view of a gasket and its notch, this gasket further comprising another notch, and
Fig. 8 is a view of the key.
The lock comprises in a known manner, a bolt 1 guided in an ad hoc opening 2 by a cleat 3. A tooth 4 which is located approximately in the middle of the bolt and, a little further behind, a heel 7, are integral of the bolt. Below the bolt 1 are circular gaskets 6 which include notches 5. One of the gaskets 6 also has an additional notch 8. The notches 5 of the gaskets serve as housing for the tooth 4, while that the notch 8 serves as a housing for the heel 7 of the bolt. The fittings 6 are surrounded by a fixed housing 9 reopened by a plate.

tine 15, intermediate washers 10 being placed between the different linings to prevent one seal from being dragged by another when the latter rotates.
These washers 10 each comprise a stud 11 housed in the groove 12 of the boot 9, so that these said intermediate washers 10 cannot turn on their own as a result of the friction between them and the linings, when they ci are moved by the key, they also include an entry path 19.
Each lining 6 has its center. a hole 13 in which protrudes a tooth 14. These teeth 14 of the different linings are offset with respect to the notches of said linings. To rotate and arrange the linings, the key 16 is such that it has on its barrel 17 grooves 18 offset correspondingly to the arrangement of the teeth 14.
The operation of this lock is as follows:
To open the lock, turn the inserted key 16 to the right, which first and successively moves the fittings 6 with respect to each other, so that all the notches 5 of the fittings are placed under the tooth 4 of the bolt. . Then one of the fittings 6 initiates the movement of withdrawal of the bolt 1 using the heel 7 of the bolt, which is engaged in the additional notch 8 of this lining ,, the bolt 1 thus being retracted sufficiently so that the tooth 4 will then engage in the notches 5 of the linings, and then be fully retracted by all the linings by means of the key.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Conversely, to close the lock, we turn the key 16 to the left. The fittings 6 drive the tooth 4 of the bolt 1, which is engaged in the notches 5 of said fittings and they push the bolt forward. When the lock is thus closed, the tooth 4 comes out of the notches 5 of the fittings, while the key still continues to rotate the fittings a little further, as far as the heel 7 of the bolt, which is engaged in the notch, allows. additional 8 of one of the toppings. When the linings 6 continue to rotate their various notches 5 are also displaced relative to the tooth 4, which means that the latter cannot directly engage again in the notches 5 of the linings. It is therefore no longer possible to push the bolt back without using the key.
