La présente Invention est relative aux aiguilles de machine à coudre et a pour but d'établir une construction simple de celles ci telle qu'elle supprime entièrement la difficulté de l'enfilement
Différents moyens ont déjà été proposés pour opérer aisément et rapidement l'enfilement des aiguilles. Mais il s'agit toujours de dispositifs et appareils particuliers à faire intervenir pour chaque enfilement, qui sont susceptibles d'être égarés et de plus sont souvent coûteux, tandis que l'aiguille selon l'invention comporte en soi son moyen d'enfilement et sa construction est néanmoins simple et par conséquent de coût peu supérieur à celui des aiguilles ordinaires.
L'invention consiste essentiellement en ce que l'aiguille comporte une fente longitudinale dont, les lèvres se referment élastiquement sur elles-mêmes et qui est orientée semblablement au chas dans lequel elle s'ouvre par son extrémité inférieure, tandis que son extrémité supérieure s'ouvre en s'évasant latéralement, à la surface de l'aiguille.
Il apparaît immédiatement qu'il est extrêmement facile peur toute personne inhabile, voire même pour une aveugle, d'enfiler une pareille aiguille en conduisant le fil le long de l'aiguille

de manière à l'introduire dans la fente et à l'amener dans le chas les lèvres de la fente se refermant alors l'une contre l'autre,par suite de leur élasticité pour retenir le fil emprisonné dans le chas.
Les risques d'échappement du fil sont donc nuls. De plus, pour autant que la trempe de l'acier ait été effectuée avec soin et précision, il n'est pas à craindre que l'aiguille selon l'invention soit moins solide que les aiguilles ordinaires, la fente longitudinale lui procurant au contraire avantageusement une certaine élasticité.
Les dessins annexés représentent a titre d'exemple, à échelle agrandie, deax modeles de constitution de l'aiguille selon l'invention.

The present invention relates to sewing machine needles and aims to establish a simple construction thereof such that it entirely eliminates the difficulty of threading.
Various means have already been proposed for easily and quickly threading the needles. However, it is always a question of particular devices and apparatus to be used for each threading, which are liable to be misplaced and moreover are often expensive, while the needle according to the invention comprises in itself its threading means and its construction is nevertheless simple and consequently of little higher cost than that of ordinary needles.
The invention essentially consists in that the needle has a longitudinal slit, the lips of which close elastically on themselves and which is oriented similarly to the eye in which it opens at its lower end, while its upper end s 'opens by widening laterally at the surface of the needle.
It immediately becomes apparent that it is extremely easy for any unskilled person, or even for a blind person, to thread such a needle by leading the thread along the needle.
