"Perfectionnements aux transformateurs de courant. "

<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
roul em ent S .
2
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"Improvements to Current Transformers."

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The current transformer in figure 1 is made up as follows:
A first transformer T, preferably of the toroid type, the primary P1 of which is in series on the line L and the magnetic circuit C1 of which is at the potential of the line, while its secondary S1 - P2 is formed of a or several short-circuited turns, supplies a second transformer T. It is immediately visible, from figure 1, that the secondary winding S1 - P2 of transformer T1 serves as primary for transformer T2, (hence the designation S1 - P2 for this winding).
The secondary S of T supplies a measuring device such as M, and is practically at earth potential, as well as its magnetic circuit C.
It is essential to observe that this arrangement leads to isolate, on the one hand the magnetic circuit Cl from the winding S1 - P2, on the other hand this winding from the magnetic circuit C2, only for half the voltage.
2 total applied between line and earth. The isolations produced are, in fact, in series.
The present invention, taking advantage of the ease of execution offered by the transformer described above and shown in FIG. 1, aims to add thereto a potentiometric element intended to form therewith a complete substation supply assembly. measuring or counting.
The assembly obtained is suitable for any high voltage electrical network, but is particularly advantageous for so-called "very high voltage" networks.
The following description and the attached figures clearly show the implementation of this @
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
invention and specify its scope.
The circuit S1 - P2 is closed on itself, isolated in space and at the potential half of that of the high voltage line @. Nothing is therefore opposed to it being constituted by a magnetic material, and at the same time forming a magnetic circuit., Or to it being added a magnetic circuit of the same path. In particular, the magnetic circuit will be completely closed, since the electric circuit S1 - P2 is itself short-circuited.
This magnetic circuit passes through the insulators II '' I2, I3 and I4, already having the role of isolating the electric circuit S1 - P2.
We thus obtain a transformer represented by FIGS. 1 and 2 in which the circuit S1-P2 comprises two parallel p.arties C3 and C4 (FIG. 2). C3 in highly conductive and non-magnetic material, and C4 in magnetic material, or else three parts in parallel (Figure 3) C3 and C5 in primarily conductive material and C in primarily magnetic material.
It is therefore sufficient to connect the windings P1 and S2 by a winding established around the insulators II and I3 (see FIG. 4) to obtain the potentiometic element mentioned above; a special terminal A carried by this winding, preferably in the vicinity of S, then allows
2 the connection of the voltm. Windings of measuring devices, meters, etc.
According to an arrangement which is not shown in the figure, instead of placing an additional terminal A on the winding P, it is possible to add a winding to it.
3 3 secondary "voltage" having or not a point in common with the
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
rolling S.
2
It is also possible to constitute the winding P
3 in two distinct parts (figure 5): the first P '
3 connecting winding P to electrical circuit C (or
1 C and C) at point X and the second P "connecting this cir-
3 5 3 baked in a roll. One can also constitute the en-
2 bearings in four parts P and P in parallel between
3-1 3-2 P and C on the one hand, and P and P in parallel between
1 3 3-3 3-4 C and S on the other hand.
This last provision represents
3 2 shown in figure 6, improves the operating conditions of the potentiometric member, on the one hand because it distributes the winding P over a greater length
3 of the magnetic circuit, on the other hand because it makes it possible to place the additional terminal A, or the secondary winding
3 daire tension, in the central region of one of the windings.
The assemblies represented by FIGS. 4, 5 and 6 ultimately comprise three transformers, including two coaxial current transformers, connected in cascade, and a voltage transformer with an axis perpendicular to that of the preceding ones. It is immediately seen that the magnetic circuit of the voltage transformer can have a completely closed magnetic circuit, while the magnetic and electrical circuits of the current transformers behave, like short-circuited turns around the voltage transformer and negate the advantages of the combination, unless special precautions are taken.
However, according to the present invention, special precautions are provided to avoid the above drawback. These precautions clearly distinguish the assembly, object of the present invention, from all the assemblies previously produced.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Regarding the P and S windings, figure 7
1 2 shows a very simple way to prevent them from forming a short-circuited coil around the magnetic circuit C.
4 We can immediately see that, thanks to the return conductor b, each of these windings behaves like two turns in opposite directions around C, the effects of which are canceled out.
4 In practice, the return conductor b will consist, if one wishes, of a second winding - around circuit C or
1 C in reverse of the first (figure 8).
2
Regarding magnetic circuits C and C,
1 2 the present invention provides for the means of preventing them from forming a short-circuited coil around: S - P.
2 1 a. Each nucleus C and C
1 2 is formed of a tape wound in a spiral, but with the interposition of a tape of insulating material or more generally of an insulation between turns (which can be reduced to a simple varnish); b.Each core C and C is shaped like washers
1 2 slits (Figure 9) superimposed, separated from each other by an insulation, and placed so that their slots are offset.
It can therefore be seen in the end that the means mentioned above, by way of example, and in general any other coming within the spirit of the invention consist in leaving the circuits C and C electrically open, but
1 2 to make them behave as magnetically closed.
The various figures of the present invention, given by way of example, are in no way limiting as to the shape or the dimensions or particular construction arrangements.
